Since arriving in El Paso, we have discovered that there is a significant lack of Italian Restaurants here on the East Side. Enter Cafe Italia. Located on North bound Joe Battle Blvd frontage road, between Montview and Pebble Hills rd. This cafe has a diner vibe. A smattering of utilitarian tables and chairs. If you want atmosphere, then try one of the chains. However, if you are looking for great food, then I strongly recommend Cafe Italia ! All ingredients are made in house. The quality, and freshness is outstanding! Our selections tonight were, spaghetti and meat balls, and the linguini and shrimp. Both noodles had the tell tale flavor and texture of hand crafted noodles. The meatballs were soft packed with excellent flavor. The shrimp were perfectly prepared. If you decide to give this little restaurant a try. Then please allow for the following. On Saturdays they open at 5pm. They fill up very quickly. Menu is rather limited in your selections. But it is better to excel with a limited menu, than to offer many items below standard. If you desire wine, then byob. There is a corkage fee. Parmesan cheese is available upon request. In our case it was never offered. We highly recommend this little restaurant. Bon appetit

We wanted to eat there once, but it was closed (despite the hours of operation online and on the door stating that it would be open). Finally we went on an open night, and got our order to go. Im severely disappointed. The value just isnt there. The calzone is huge, but it is 85% bread. I wish I could post photos on here for you to see the 5 pieces of sausage that were in our calzone. They rave about the homemade mozzarella but we barely got a little sprinkling inside. The portion of pasta is expensive and just enough for my 6 year old. Maybe we went on a bad night. Maybe the to-go portions are smaller. However, for the price, Im never going there again. I wouldve gotten more food (and not just bread) from a taco truck. Dont get me wrong, the flavors are really good, but I wish they would give less bread or more fillings. If the calzone was smaller (less bread) but with the same amount of filling, and maybe little less expensive, then it would be reasonable.

Pizza was good. My son ordered pizza for his meal and other son and I ordered pasta dishes. Pizza was brought to the table and consumed before other meals arrived. Lasagna was the special. When waitress described she said it has ricotta and spinach. "If you like ricotta, you will like it." I asked about meat in it and was told "meat sauce". Lasagna probably would have tasted better if it had been warmed up, but meat sauce was actually sausage slices. A lot of sausage slices. Sons noticed other tables received pre-meal bread. We didnt. No parmesan cheese was offered with meals. Odd. Water was refilled routinely. My sons enjoyed their pizza and shrimp fettuccine, but food and service were inconsistent.

Best dinner I have had in a very long time. The place is calm, quiet, and warm. The smell from the brick pizza oven is intoxicating, and the seating is not cramped. I had the special which was a 16 Oz steak with grilled vegetables and a parmigiano crusted grilled tomato. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the sides fantastically complemented it. The seasoning of the entire meal was ideal and the 25 dollar price tag was half of what I would normally expect to pay for that quality of a meal. I will be making this a frequent of mine for the foreseeable future.

This place is AWESOME! Truelly authentic Italian meal made al forno. Daniel treats all his guests as family, and its a welcome departure from the typical owner who does not like to mingle. As for food, try the home made lasagna with extra garlic and the margherita pizza with prosciutto. Nothing beats this homemade fresh food. Cant go wrong with anything in this place.

Great pizza, calzones, and salads. Nice place to go with ur friends to share a couple of bottles of wine. They dont serve alcohol, but you can take your own wine bottles, there is a $5.00 charge, but you can ask for as many wine glasses you want. The only thing we didnt like was that the servers arent too friendly, but we still had a great time with friends.

Amazing brick oven pizza! And they only sell local brew craft beer. They owner was great as was the wait staff. The inside is a bit on the smaller side so I wouldnt recommend huge parties unless you book the entire place. My wife ordered a "salad" that was just mozzarella and tomato slices! Thats my kind of salad.

Great wood fire pizza. The mozzarella is made in house, and you can clearly taste the difference. I also love the wood rosted vegetables, they are a great starter (although I could eat the whole thing as an entree. Warm and inviting atmosphere, great craft beer choices; cant go wrong with this place.

This place rocks! We went there on Saturday night with two couples and shared four different dishes and two appetizers. All the dishes were excellent and very reasonably priced! Plus, they let you bring your own wine. I am looking forward to our next visit.

Pretty good pizza for this part of the country. A saving grace for my longing for pizza from up north. Only complaint, not really a big deal, is the hours need to be updated. It says open at noon on Saturdays but its not open until 5pm.

Great service. Better food. The pizza is not at all your ordinary Pizza. The dessert is wonderful but pricy. Next on my list is the coffee. The place is small but cozy.

Pizza is okay, mozzarella lacking, atmosphere sucks, generic pasta options.
