Need a good reason not to go to Verona? Read on. Ive been in hospitality most of my life and would be hard pressed to think of any person other than "Q," the owner of Verona, as an example of the worst possible service. In the process of moving to a new home, I took four friends to Verona to thank them for helping me. Service was spotty. One friend received his food 15 minutes after the rest and our waitress didnt seem to know the menu and couldnt explain much, but she was fun and we were in a festive mood. No one from management came to check on us during the meal, as one might expect from an independent restaurant, but the food was tasty. The next day, exhausted after hauling boxes, my fiance and I ordered dinner delivery from Verona, because I felt bad that she had missed the dinner. I like to support local businesses and they are 5 minutes away. Three minutes after the order was delivered, we found that it didnt include plastic flatware or napkins & all of ours was boxed up. My fiance called the restaurant to ask if they could phone to driver to drop some plastic knives and forks off. We were told by a waitress, who had to check to see if this was okay for several minutes, that it would be at our house in 5-10 minutes, no problem. 15 minutes later, she was on the phone with the manager who seemed to be giving her the run-around. I picked up the call from her and told him that I was disappointed that we would now be eating cold food for our celebration dinner. "Is not my fault! I guarantee food is hot when delivered." I once again explained that all our forks and napkins were still packed in boxes because we had just moved. Surely he could understand such a situation. At this point, anyone with a modicum of service skill- especially an owner!- would have congratulated us on our new home and sent over free desserts or something to help us celebrate- any token of sympathy and understanding. Thats how problem solving is done in the service industry- with grace. "Im sorry for the inconvenience..." etc. But "Q" had to argue. He is one of those people who is never wrong, particularly when he is very wrong. It turned out that no one was on their way with utensils. "I have been delivering food without flatware for 15 years. You should have asked!" I told him that we had called and asked for flatware 15 minutes ago and it still hadnt arrived and our food was now cold. "You want me to replace your dinner? I will not do this." I patiently told him that we just needed utensils. It could have ended there with an apology and someone dispatched with plastic forks and knives. I explained that I had brought 4 guests to the restaurant the previous night and he was welcome to look it up in his receipts. He didnt care and treated me as if I was lying. "I am slammed right now!" I explained that I was going to tell every one of my previous nights guests that we didnt receive any flatware after we were assured it was on the way, and that he had argued about it. "So you are going to lie!? All because of plastic forks and knives!!?" The discussion disintegrated. After 30 minutes with no flatware, I called back and was sarcastically told, "I will send someone out right now! I drove to the drug store and brought back flatware and we ate our first cold, congealed dinner in our new house. No one ever showed up. I will never eat there again nor request delivery, and I strongly encourage anyone who has suffered abuse- not from a waitperson or manager, but from an OWNER- to avoid this place like the plague. My fiance and I laughed it off and watched Fawlty Towers. where terrible service is funny at least.

I have been here before and liked it. So, I was surprised when they ripped me off with some not-so-sneaky tricky charges. First, I ordered the lunch special which in big print said, "two slices with two toppings, includes a salad and drink." All for $5.99. It was pointed out to me later that the very fine print in the bottom left, corner of the menu had the addition "drinks excluded on weekends," so, I paid $2 for a cup of coffee when I would have just had a glass of water if Id known it wasnt really inlcuded. Then, theres the appetizer. My wife ordered some garlic bread for about $4.50. As we ordered, the guy says, "Are you sure you dont want some spinach dip with that?" My wife loves spinach dip, so we said sure. Turns out the spinach dip DOUBLED the price of the appetizer. $9.00 Ill never get back. After I then had to remind them to bring me my salad and the bread that was supposed to come with every meal, they bring me a ticket where every item is listed as "misc1," so I couldnt tell which item costs what. When I made them spell it out for me, the decietfulness of my lunch didnt seem to bother them one bit. Lunch for my wife and I ended up costing us over $30.00, despite both of us ordering the "lunch specials." They were specials alright, and thats the last time this place will get one dime of my money. Anyway, my two slices of pizza was light on the chees and sauce anyway. NOT WORTH IT ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT...

The time has come for us to part ways. As of today, I will NOT be ordering from Veronas anymore unless ownership makes some changes. Today I ordered 2 orders fettuccini alfredo. They asked if I wanted chicken or veal. I told them we just wanted fettuccini alfredo. I also told them we didnt want the salads, and only one order should have the included bread. When my meal arrived (drivers are always really good) I was charged for chicken fettuccine alfredo because they dont have just regular fettuccini alfredo. What kind of Italian joint doesnt have regular fettuccini alfredo? So they charged me for a $11 per dish that they didnt deliver! Not only that, but their food doesnt rate that kind of price, not on their bestest of best days. A typical italian joint will discount for those not wanting a salad, but then again a typical italian joint will have regular fettuccini alfredo too. Veronas cant pull that off, apparently. TL;DR Charged for something I didnt order. Their food is OK, but doesnt rate what they are asking, they dont have an adult portion of fettuccini alfredo. ETA: I just opened my particular dish to find that they did indeed put a few cubes of chicken in the dish. SMH! And to top it all off, the pieces of chicken are MICROWAVED.

I officially hate this place. The first time I ordered I hated the food. I called the place and told them that I did not like the food. And didnt apologize first. Didnt offer options first. He said to me that every body lieks that product and how its highly recommended. So what!!!! Right. Well any way I gave them another chance and i ordered again. And when the delivery driver comes to deliver my food he demanded a tip. Mentioned the tip like Im supposed to tip. I know you are never supposed to do that. And so I tried something A little different this time and the food still wasnt satisfying. The only satisfying product ive had is the salad. I have had waaaay better alfredo pasta then this. And i hate that I havent had a great experience in this place like people say. And also when I got my pasta it only had 5 shrimp in it. It was a waste of my money and time. And i only tipped the guy because I felt bad. But I did call to complain. So Im never ordering from this place again. I gave ir a second chance, but no more.
