Let me start by saying we had high expectations when we booked our stay at this resort. We heard it was one of the best. Except for the Sammy Kershaw concert which was awesome, the Omni Barton Creek is clearly second class to other Texas Resorts. We are sad that we heard barking dogs at night, kids cussing at night in the hallway, the wood floor in my room is incomplete, their staff does not act like are interested in the guests, my wall thermostat looks like it is from the 60s, the supply vent in my room needs to be sealed and the wall cleaned, the events and facilities access times are unclear, the "pools" are to small to utilize because of all the kids running around, there is no lazy river like most high quality resorts have to enjoy and several other disappointments but i am tired of writing. I will say the golf course was beautiful. If you are coming here to enjoy the best dont, go to the Hyatt Lost Pines. That is family focused, this not at all. Trick me once shame on you Omni! You wont trick me twice.

Nice staff. Food wasnt good. My wife order a Mediterranean Sea Bass ($28)and it was ridiculously small. No man would dare keep such a caught tiny fish for fear of esmasculation. But it was shipped to Austin to be served. Onion soup was okay. Kids pizza was good and we know this because my wife ate it to subsidize her little fish. The fillet was mediocre. The Shrimp and rice dish was probably the best meal.

I have had a few okay meals in the 8212 Grill, however, today they boast a one star rating, only because I am extraordinarily generous and because there is no such thing as negative stars. If you are a fan of cold seared raw salmon swimming in slime on a wilted brown salad, and I do not mean sushi grade salmon, then you are in luck. Otherwise, I would suggest counting stars and reconsidering.
