The food was fine, but the only reason they got 2 stars. Ill start with the fact that our waitress was very new, but clearly poorly trained. She took our orders without writing anything down, but then returned 10 minutes later to look at our menus again and write things down- which means our orders werent even put in. Second, I dont eat meat, and I clearly said that both times we ordered, I simply said I want the enchiladas with beans instead of beef because I dont eat any meat. The food comes out and I have cheese enchiladas and the sauce topping it has beef on it. I grab her and let her know the issue and instead of saying "Okay Ill correct it" she just looks at me and says oh you didnt say you dont eat meat. I always do, because this happens, people are human I get it. They brought me the same cheese enchiladas 3 more times before I finally got cheese enchiladas with cheese topping it- still not what I ordered but oh well Im hungry. The margarita they brought my husband was so filled with syrup that neither of us could stand to drink it. We had gone with a large group that had pre-paid for a certain amount of margaritas and I think they were purposefully making them without a lot of alcohol as ours wasnt the only one that way. When the check finally comes, weve been charged for like 4 other peoples meals on top of our own. I point out that those meals werent ours and our waitress goes "well people keep ringing stuff up on your check so...." and didnt move to take the check to correct it. I had to laugh, Im not going to pay for other peoples food. I told her, Okay, these 3 items (our 2 meals and drink) were meant to be on the check, everything else is not ours. Waitress walks off and returns a few minutes later and starts saying how we have to pay for our drink because the group had reached their max and how she had talked to the host of our party about upping the amount and she refused, she was going to keep talking but I stopped her. I dont care about a $7 margarita, we never said we werent going to pay for that and I pointed out how wrong our check was and the manager left without saying anything else. Long story short I was amazed at how poorly trained the waitstaff was and how ready for confrontation the manager was. If you mess up something, just fix it, dont sit there and argue. I would never come here again, and I bet the host of our group would have been horrified with how the manager handled everything.

Do not go here!!! The waitresses are in competition to see who can seel the most drink specials. I asked for a beer and was told three times about their margaritas. Once I got the waitress to accept that I had requested a beer, she had to ask another waitress if they carried any beers. The second waitress knew they carried beer, but was unaware of what beers they stocked. They both asked a third waitress who finally knew some of the beers they had in stock. The food we ordered tasted like it was made of cardboard. My friend had to request some chorizo to add to her queso in order for it to have flavor. The made from scratch chicken enchiladas I ordered were dry and flavorless. We had to add a TON OF SALT to the tomato sauce they call salsa and it still didnt taste good. It takes A LOT of MISTAKES and A LOT of CHANCES before I write off a restaurant. Rio Mambo made all the wrong mistakes in one night, I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT. I can get better tasting food and drinks, for much less than what we spent, at many other hole-in-the-wall joints.

I want to start by saying the dance instructor and music was fantastic. This was the only reason Rio Mambo receive two stars. Now as to the service, it really starts at the top. The manager on 08/19/2017 @ night needs better training in speaking to customers and following up when an issue presented. The service was slow at times, when it was not particularly busy. The food was not bad but was not great. I try to accurately review these areas, so people are aware and have a good perspective of this establishment. I will return and hope for better service. Sometimes businesses miss the mark and have an off night and I hope this was the case.

I called to order 4 meals, 2 of which were fajitas, to go. Told me it would only be 15 minutes before food was ready. Arrived 20 minutes after calling and bartender told us the food will be ready in "just a second". FORTY FIVE minutes later....! I finally get my order. Asked to speak w the manager and he tells me they should not have taken my togo order on a Friday! (Manager deflecting responsibility to his order taker, glad I dont work there). Finally get home with my food for my starving company from out of town, only to realize the food is cold, and they gave us NO tortillas for our fajitas!!! And the salsa tastes like ketchup!!!

Great food..... Terrible wait staff, horrible mess all over the floors. Wait staff slow. No smiles, walk by without acknowledgment, they were huddled into there little groups laughing and joking around. I tried asking a few for chips with no luck. Add to the staff laziness..the restaurant was not busy (strange for mothers day) and the floors looked like an apocalyptic war zone... At one point i watched a cleaning person walk past several ridiculously filthy sections

Overpriced and ordinary. I dined on a not so busy Sunday evening and was attended to by a gracious but mostly absent server. The atmosphere could have been one for any type of restaurant, very little decor that spoke to the Mexican cuisine. The portions were correct but twice the price they should have been. Good flavor, but was told Id have to pay extra for a side of sour cream. Never had that happen before at any TexMex or Mexican restaurant...

I made reservations for mothers day and called the day before to confirm and they lost my reservation. They were able to get us in. On mothers day my girlfriends food came out 10 minutes late. Then my credit card got over charged. I chose this location because it is close to the house, my girlfriends loves the Ft. Worth location. The food is good but this is yet another example of how the Arlington location has disappointed.

I have no idea how this place has good reviews.. maybe the other people have never had good FRESH Mexican food??? The queso was straight from a jar, the tortillas were bagged and heated up, fajitas were very skimpy and not good at all. The only thing we enjoyed here was the chips and salsa. Refried beans were from a can OH and it was way overpriced. Save your money and go to the grocery store for a $10 canned dinner...

When we were first seated they sat us in a round and square table that were pushed together for our party of 8 (4 kids and 4 adults). When we were served our drinks every one of our sodas were flat (no carbonation). My husband ordered a steak plate cooked medium rare and was cooked well done when he received it. He sent the plare back and when he received his replacement plate the steak was cooked super rare.
