To preface this review Im Armenian so Ive generally had different versions of the foods served at this restaurant thus I came with certain expectations. Generally I would recommend this place to people new to Mediterranean / foreign food but it will leave something to be desired for the more experienced. Leans towards the expensive, especially if you are with family get ready to spend money. Good atmosphere, the interior is well designed, music too loud especially since its generic classical music and not particularly fitting for the theme of the restaurant. Very polite staff. Dolma (under cold appetizer section) - Tasted pretty strange, had a weird sour / tangy flavor, the filling was too mushy for lack of a better term which hid any texture the meat might have had. The olive oil hides the flavor of the grape leaf. It was interesting but not something that Id recommend. Beef/Lamb sish combination - The beef was really good A+, lamb was pretty all right as well the flavor wasnt as prominent as Id like but overall would recommend. Rice has a slight sweetness and is balanced well by the tangy red cabbage. Chicken Sautée - Im not a huge fan of the chicken / tomato flavor combination but this was a quality dish. Tomatoes and chicken were well made. Came with rice and red cabbage. Baklava - Get...this...dessert. This is basically the best Baklava Ive ever had so far in my life. Absolutely the highlight of my visit. Ignore the whipped cream that it comes with, complete distraction and contradiction to the wonderful flavor and texture of the Baklava. Eat it by itself.

WOW! I dont say that often at a restaurant, but Ive fallen in love with Istanbul Grill. I took the wife out for a date night and we ended up here. Im gastronomically adventurous, however my lovely bride is not, so she was a bit tenuous about eating here. The first thing we noticed was the linen table clothes and nicely decorated dining room. It was inviting and gave the impression that the folks here take food service seriously. A good start so far. The place was small and cozy and was about half full, but we were greeted almost immediately and seated right away. The first thing our friendly server asked us was if we had eaten Turkish fare before. Ive enjoyed Mediterranean food many times, but my spouse had not. The server intuitively deduced that my wife was timid about the food and made a few recommendations. We ordered accordingly. Everything was fabulous! My wife has a normally discerning palate, but tried everything on the table and loved all of it, which never happens. The bill was very reasonable for two appetizers and two entrees. The combination of service, atmosphere and fare were the perfect mix of a dining experience that makes this place an instant favorite for us. We will most definitely be back!

This is the best restaurant in Arlington! The food is absolutely delicious, well presented, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant is upscale, with elegant set tables, nice décor, and background soft music to complement the delightful eating experience. I love every Mediterranean dish Ive tried, from appetizers, soups and salads to the variety of shish, Adana and gyro styled meats. The menu also includes grilled salmon, and vegetarian options such as falafel, vegetable casserole, and the best hummus in all Texas!. Along with the high quality and tasty food and enjoyable Turkish tea and coffee, the service at Istanbul Grill is just the best. The owners (Sam and his wife) are kind and generous, sometimes sending us a dessert plate on the house! just because they are beautiful people. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. For the best dinning experience in DFW, I always recommend Istanbul Grill!

Absolutely fantastic. We ordered 8 or 9 items of the menu and every single morsel was mouth watering. I came here from a recommendation of a friend and couldnt be more pleased. The food was prepared with precision, the restaurant was in impeccable condition. White linen table cloths, complete setting, spotless floor. The bathrooms were clean and fresh and, dare I write, pleasant. The service was friendly without being overbearing, helpful and prompt. We ordered some signature dishes and ate every single piece. Even my picky 4 year old son cleaned his plate. For desert we had the most fabulous, home made, Baklava. There were four small pieces and we fought for each piece. My wife and I ordered the Turkish coffee and were shocked at its freshness and full bodied flavor. Without any hesitation whatsoever, I will be returning to this restaurant and inviting my friends.

to start, their lunch special thats going on right now (I went there 4/9/14) is simply an amazement. One starter, one entree, a drink all for about $9? And their hummus is just fantastic, I love them. A extravagant diversity of entrees to choose from. I had lamb kebob and I admit I had lambs from different Mediterranean restaurants, but Istanbul grill really knows how to do it so far. Ambiance is also very comfortable and Turkey-like. Owner is very friendly, servers are very nice also. I saw lots of people there eating lunch when I was there, and guess what, if you people crowding in a restaurant, that means they got good food and service, and Istanbul grill got it right. I will come back continuously.

We drove from Keller, TX to try this place out and we were so not disappointed! Delicious food, great staff - super friendly!!. We have been to literally every Middle eastern & Mediterranean restaurant in Tarrant county and this family owned place is by far the best. Try the Chicken gyro, so delicious. The trigger is fluffy and not killed with saffron. The chilledb appetizer plate is well seasoned and came with babaganous, hummus and 6 other apps. Try the mixed grill and sample all the main meat dishes. Wow. You will be blown away with the great taste.

Amazing! I was introduced to this restaurant by someone I no longer date. I can say the food was so good and healthy that despite the memories its worth going back at least once or twice a month. I have taken my daughter and sons on several occasions. Tomorrow will be one of my good friends. The only thing I would say is ....they have decreased portion sizes....I hate that...when you find quality, quantity and great service. ...and then cut backs come with popularity. ...please dont skimp on the food. .thats why people are speaking so highly of you.

My wife and I go as often as we can. A nice, relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly and courteous staff. Very reasonably priced! The hummus is served with warm, freshly made pita bread. My wife loves the shepherds salad. The Adana Kabob and Mixed Grill are both excellent. My wife lived in Turkey for a few years. She said that the baklava here is excellent, and very much in keeping with the Turkish tradition of making it fresh daily. It melts in your mouth! You owe it to yourself to go at least once to experience it for yourself.

I and my mexican crazy girlfriend visited this restaurant. We ordered shipherd salad and dolma. Then we ordered beyti kebap and iskender kebap. Then baklava and kunefe with turkish tea. Service was fast great. Several servers checked us. There was turkish music and other musics was playing behind. The tables was clean wt white cover. The place was large enough to seat many people. Overall it was great food and service. My girlfriend took several pictures and liked the food. We definitely recommend this restaurant to any one.
