This is a traditional Chinese take out place that has been in Arlington well over two decades, that offers dine in as well. Its a cozy little spot and the portions are very large (a family of 3 to 4 can eat on two selections and some rice or lo mein, easy). That in mind, the prices are very typical of most Chinese food places, not exactly cheap but also not too expensive. Most fares average on your $9-$10 price for a serving that can easily feed 2 or more. Almost everything will come with either steamed rice or fried rice(for a small up-charge) and they offer excellent lunch deals for dine-in only (for $6 you get a large portion with rice, a bowl of either egg drop or sweet and sour soup and an egg roll). The place is always clean, with the bathrooms being the exception to the rule (they could use some serious updating and air freshener), and the staff has always been super friendly and very attentive. The ONLY problem is that take out wait times get to be VERY significant from 5pm on to about 7pm (expect, even a small order, to take a minimum of 20 minutes, if not longer in most cases). They do offer delivery to a small area for an up-charge, but it too is impacted by the same wait times. That being said, the reason for the longer wait is that they have a small kitchen and cook EVERYTHING fresh everytime, and I have never encountered any bad food. The food quality and taste is just average, though. They arent doing anything here that isnt done in your any of your other Chinese food places, its just that they have been around several decades and have a very well built clientele that remains faithful to this location. Grab some food from here, you cant go wrong, but if you want fancy youre going to have to step up to places like PF Chang and such, however if traditional is what you want then give Splendid China a go.

I used to order from them all the time and recently the last 3 times I have ordered I have been given misinformation about the time my order would be delivered. Tonight I was told 50 minutes. It has been an hour and 25 minutes and no order I called in and they hadnt even sent my order out for delivery. I explained how frustrated I was that the last three times this had happened and I have said nothing. But this is ridiculous that they couldnt call us to give an update . Then I asked for a manager and they wouldnt get on the phone. the lady on the phone offered to give me 2free egg rolls!?!?! To basically try to shut me up. The lady on the phone continued to make excuses about how busy they are and there is only one driver and I understand that but I run a business and there is a professional way to handle clients when you over promise and under deliver. I really am a patient person. I never made a bad review before Even if I am dissatisfied but the fact that they disregarded me and didnt even give any thought to a loyal customer. This is not the first time. There were other times the food was not fresh and I didnt even bother complaining. Anyway if you want a meal you better order it and pick it up and if they screw up too bad so sad they will not do anything to right thier wrong.

01/16/15 Have been eating at Splendid China for 20 years, No more! We have been eating at least once a week at Splendid China for 20 years. We bring our own tea, and the staff have never had a problem with this. Last night the male owner saw our tea on the table and rudely asked "what is that, wine?" I said, no, its just tea. He then walked outside, looking back at us the whole time. I asked the waitress is this a problem?, she said "No, he is crazy." The male owner then came back in and walked up to our table and rudely shouted at us "you bring your own tea, you bring your own cup." Then he went back outside. We told the waitress he was rude and customers should not be treated that way, especially people who have been eating there 20 years. We got up and left, and will not return. Unless you enjoy such treatment, do not eat at this business.

I was looking for a sit down and enjoy restaurant and Splendid China served as both. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly and quick. The food was served hot and fresh. I especially enjoyed the hot and sour soup; one of the best I have tasted. If I had to say one thing that could have been better, it would be that the main dishes arent served in a closed serving dish to keep them hot. Other than that, it was delicious. I live in Burleson but will return whenever I am in the vacinity. Nice change from buffet.

today i ordered delivery and spent 30.00 for 2 people.. Then the delivery man came and before he could count the money he lectured me about how he deserved a tip... what a butt head.. i will start going to Panda Express for 1/3 of the price and not have to worry about those stupid comments. I called the restaurant and the manager kept saying " I guess I will talk to him tomorrow," What a place to spend $30 .00s on... I will NEVER ORDER HERE AGAIN!! If I were you I would SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSE WHERE!!

Great food, fresh, prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and such sweet people that work there. I would highly recommend for pick up vs delivery, calling ahead saves time, and I have never waited more than 15 minutes if I placed my order in person. Havent found better chinese food in Arlington. Do be aware they only deliver within 5 miles, and if you LOOOVE the skinny rice noodles like I do, they are not offered:( Still gets 5 stars from me though!

Ive been coming to Splendid China for over 15 years now. Theyre my neighborhood Chinese restaurant and they make really good, craving satisfying Chinese food served family style. So bring a friend and come hungry. At lunch they offer individual plates of their customary dinner selections. All served with rice, soup for a little extra and some of the best egg rolls Ive ever had. Try the Sizzling Wok Bar, Governors Chicken and General Tsos Chicken.

Mr. Justin is amazing. He is a kind and generous man. My kids love him and he makes sure to give them hugs upon arrival and when we leave. He only works during the week so that is the only time we go. The food is great and we drive from Venus for it. Always hot and fresh. They have new management and the only difference we have seen is the prices have increased. We have brought many members if our family here and they love it also.

This place is extremely rude....me and my girlfriend came here to eat and she wanted a side of green beans with her with in replace of the French fries and they tried to charge her $10 just for green beans? Then they laUghed at her. They are extremely rude and not professional at all not to mention the food isnt even good....do yourself a favor if your craving Chinese food go somewhere else because this place is all around horrible
