I have been to Ramen Hakata a total number of 4 times. The first three times were ok. I felt the food was good and the proces were a bit high for the amount of food provided. Each time I have gone to Raman Hakata, Ive spent upwards of $50. My very last visit was today and it was not a good one. Our waitress, EILEEN was the reason this visit did not sit well with us. I brought my 12 yr old brother to Ramen Hakata thinking it was going to be a fun experience for him. We ordered an appetizer from Eileen and advised her we would start with that while we were deciding what to order for the main course. She served us the appetizer and came back a few minutes later and took the menus away from us...mind you, we were still looking at the menu. I actually had one in my hand, and she snatched it out of my hand. I said, "Oh, but we havent ordered our meals yet." Any normal, competent server would have proceeded to take our order...I mean larger bill can result in a larger tip, right? Instead, our very rude and incompetent server, EILEEN, barked back at me saying, "You ordered already!!" And proceeded to snatch the menu out of my hands. At this point, I was more upset and asked, "When did we order?" At this point, she stopped and stared at me and asked what wed like to have. After this, we got our meals, all brought out at different times. My sister and I waited until my brother received his food. Other servers refilled our drinks and served us our meals. Eileen eventually came back....but not to ask us if everything was ok. She cheekily asked, "Are you almost finished?" We werent finished and my sister answered her saying we were not, otherwise I probably would have caused a scene if I had responded to her. My brother wanted icecream and we had to wait another 15 minutes after we were done eating before my sister managed to flag her down to order the dessert for him. At this point, EILEEN communicated only with my sister(most likely because she knew I was upset), bringing her the check of course only after we waited another 15 min after finishing the icecream. I tipped her $10.00 as this was 20% of the bill and wrote at the bottom of the recipt, "Next time Eileen, you should do better. :-)" sorry Ramen Hakata, I was a fan and had already introduced friends and family to the restaurant but after this experience, you probably wont see me again. Hire servers who are actually willing to do their jobs and are courteous to the customers. Eileen was bar none one of the more unpleasant servers I have EVER encountered.

I liked what I got. Fyi, I have had ramen outside Dallas. And just like everywhere else, they get mix reviews. Why is that? I wasnt sure what to expect after reading these mix reviews. I went in with an open mind. I was craving ramen so much one time, I spent the whole day making it so I know first hand how hard it is to make ramen. What I made turned out okay. It was way better than tanoshii garbage but not as good as Hakata. I had the spicy ramen with butter corn and it was better than other ramen places in Dallas so far. Theres not many ramen options in dfw to begin with. This place is so much better than tanoshii and sapporo. The broth at tanoshii is just purely oil and no flavor. Its flavorful here and its not as salty as ramen tatsuya in Austin. I ate every bite of it and sipped all the broth!!! It had good flavor! not too salty, not too oily. Between two of us, we shared takoyaki appetizer while waiting for our ramen. It was good. Service was friendly. They checked up on us several times. We got in right when it opened so no waiting in line. Portion was enough to get me full but I did sip all the broth. Price is expensive because they only give you one piece of pork. And if you want extra piece of pork thats $1.50. Butter corn was .50 more. But then again, all the ramen places are priced at around $10 a bowl. Some places give you two pieces of pork. They only give you half an egg. I have two in my bowl because I took my friends egg hehe thats what yelpers are for! Were here to eat what you dont! I could use a little more salt in my bowl just because ramen is suppose to be salty and I could use more of spicy paste. I like things spicy! Next time I will add more salt and ask for more spicy paste!

I had enough time to go for lunch today and met of my wife and coworker for lunch here at RamenHakata. Food is great. Never had a bad experience until today. Came in and was seated just fine. They took our orders like normal and gave us our waters. 15 minutes passed and havent gotten our food but thats normal when its this busy. But the. 20 minutes came. Then 25, then 30 and still no food. Sure enough 2 parties that came in after us and got seated after us got their food within 15 minutes of them ordering.... so Im like wth... I walked up to the front ask them how much longer will it take for our food. They asked what did we order so I proceeded to tell them and they had no record of it in their system. I told them the exact same order we had given them at the beginning walked back to my table and waited for our food to be served. The waiter came out to our table and apologized saying that the food will be out in 5 minutes. Well we sat there with our spoons in one hand and chopsticks in the other. Finally the waiter came out with our food but sure enough, they came out with the food wrapped up in To-go boxes. So at that point Im like f it. We had 10 minutes to get back to the office. I paid for everyones food and left. Now that Im back at the office. THEY GOT ALL OF OUR ORDERS WRONG!!! Im pissed. I paid for food that didnt come like its suppose to. I ordered a chassu spicy ramen with no vegetables and it wasnt spicy with 2 slices of chashu with vegetables....all in all I had a really bad experience today to go out to lunch for an hour just to sit at a table and wait.....

Went to this place with pretty high expectations, and it still delivered. Not too expensive either (about $10 for a normal bowl of ramen and about $2 extra for a significantly larger bowl of ramen) I had two appetizers, the first was their pork buns, which are absolutely amazing, do your self a favor and try them, even if they are a tad pricy for the amount you get. I also sampled their Chicken Karaage which was good, but nothing ground breaking, very simple batter and no sauce, though it did come with a coleslaw which was pretty tasty. The ramen though... I had the Miso ramen, and it was out of this world. Ive had a lot of good ramen before, but I think this is my new favorite place for it. The pork belly was tender and fatty with amazing flavor, not too gamey like a few other places. The broth was rich, noodles perfectly cooked. Something that stood out to me before I ordered was the fact that there was some corn that I though would be really strange, but trust me when I say it works! It really complements the miso broth well. Service was very friendly, attentive and overall really good. And I was there while they were pretty busy on a Friday night. I will absolutely be revisiting.
