I went to the drive through on 10/30/09 and wished I hadnt. First of all, there was a long wait at the drive through. I guess the reason is that there is no menu posted outside. This makes ordering a little difficult (but Im not worried because Im not going back!) I am from KY and used to really good BBQ. This was pulled and chopped up super fine. It had gristle in it (at least I hope that is what it was). I asked about sauce and was told that it was already seasoned. When I got home it was terribly dry. The person helping me made the BBQ sandwiches without washing her hands after handling money (this is just a pet peeve of mine; money is not clean). Her nails werent very clean either. The "broasted" potato wedges were like someone has quartered and warmed a left-over baked potato. There was no seasoning on it. I could only manage to eat about half of one of the three pieces. The baked beans had mustard in them, I think. They were the strangest color I have ever seen and not at all appealing. The only bright spot was my husbands mac and cheese. Too bad the sides were so small. We paid over $14 for the "sandwich special" with 2 sandwiches, 4 tiny individual sides and 2 small drinks. I would love to have my money back and eat bologna or ramen at home.

Ive never had anything bad there. All the food is killer and the sweet stuff is amazing!!! Whitts BBQ dosent even compare to Baldwins. Good parking but please if your pulling a trailer with a truck, go somewhere else. They didnt like me taking up two parking spots even though I brought 5 guys in to eat and had the rest of the work crew meet us there also. Thats 10 of us for 3 parking spots. Owner asked me to move my truck cause they was fixing to have a lunch rush. Yes they did have a lunch rush because I brought 10 very hungry men with fat wallets. I still eat there but the other 9 guys said they wouldnt pull into that parking lot ever again.

I also grew up on Baldwins BBQ, first when it was located down off of South Main and then when it moved to Memorial Blvd. But ever since it moved to Central Avenue, it sucks! Everything is super overpriced and the BBQ is awful. If you want real food, go the extra 20 mins to Adams and go to Adams Station. They have everything like Boston Butt and half chickens as big as your hands to hashbrown casserole and delicious baked beans. For dessert, variations of pies or banana pudding to die for. Adams Station usually feeds my entire family of four for only 20-25 dollars and man do they give us a feast. And believe me..my family eats!

My grandparents lived in Adams (20 mins outside of Springfield) I lived with them until I was 6 and then spent all of my summers and vacations with them. Baldwins is what I grew up on and any other barbecue is a disappointment. I live out of state now, but every time I am in Tennessee, I make a trip to Baldwins. Im very sad they do not have the fudge pie anymore, but the baker retired and they have not found a suitable replacement. Oh well... The 4th of July just isnt the same without Baldwins. Will they ship a couple of pounds out of state? I wish they would! LOVE Baldwins Barbecue! Its the best!

My family has done business with JI Baldwin & Son since i was a young girl, over 40 yrs now. We use them for family get togethers, summers at the lake, holidays, etc. Although they have been around for yrs & yrs, the food, the service, and that family oriented service, still exists. Menu changes now and then, only to make it more desirable & cater friendly as time goes by. Great food, great service and great people. Love it.

HAVE ATE NO OTHER BBQ..MY PARENTS BOUGHT WHEN. AT OLD RESTURANT WHITE CREEK PIKE..IM NOW 62 YRS OLD..LIVE IN KY..STILL COME WHERE THE. BEST BBQ IS.BALDWINS...SAD CLOSE ON SUNDAYS AN ON.A FATHERS DAY...! EVEN HALF DAY ON SUNDAY..BE BETTER THAN GOING WITHOUT..LOVE THE CORNBREAD.AN TEA..LOVE BALDWINS BBQ !

Very friendly staff. The pieces of two piece white boasted chicken were very small. Portions are undersized. Chicken is over cooked, dry. And, for what I received the price $10.17 is ridiculously over priced. Will give there another try when chicken is fresher.

Best BBQ I have EVER had. Ive been all over: NC, SC, VA, MD, MO, NE, KS, TX, KY, WVA, NY, FL, AL, MS, HI, IL, IN, PA, CO, SD, CA, NV, NM, AZ. Ive attempted to eat what is called BBQ in all of these states. For me, Baldwins BBQ is the ONLY BBQ.

I love the bbq, white beans, and cornbread. Go out of my way for this stuff. Chopped bbq with vinegar base sauce to bring out the flavor of the meat, not to cover it up. Eveybody has their favorite bbq, well this is mine.

Best BBQ you will ever eat! There pulled pork sandwich is awesome! White beans are delicious. I am from Florida and travel there once year to get Great BBQ! I also order it on special occasions! Cant get any better.
