Ive been coming to Torinos since before it was Torinos, back when it used to be called Charlies Steakhouse in Oak Grove, Kentucky. My parents used to take me on special occasions. We probably went once a year but I remember those days like yesterday. This was almost 30 years ago. However, Charlies burned down a while back and that was the end of our tradition... Until one day I found another review of the current Torinos in Springfield, TN. I was Googling details of the fire and one reviewer mentioned they sold Charlies steaks here. And the rest is history. I cant comment on the other food here because I only get the steak and traditional sides that come with a Charlies Steak: salad, baked potato and bread. What I like Torinos is that the menu is expanded a bit and obviously so. Its not a steak place any longer but a Greek and Italian restaurant. I like Greek and Italian food but the temptation of the steaks are too much. When youre seated, you can help yourself to butter packets and various crackers. Something so simple can be addictive. I find myself eating about 3 packs of butter & crackers before the food comes out. I typically get the porterhouse, a honking massive steak that weighs about 30 ounces, medium rare. I get a baked potato with butter only and a random salad (house, Charlies, Greek, etc). The salad and baked potato is typical (you can hardly mess those up). The bread is just a simple sesame seed loaf. But because I want to make sure I eat all my steak, I usually only nibble at the other items until I finish the steak. Then Ill eat what I can (if my appetite can handle the rest). Now for the steak review. Its a porterhouse, so you can expect it to be large. Ive been to dozens of high end steakhouses where they have steaks in the 60$ range. And while those are good, sometimes you want a larger steak for that beef-loving appetite. This is what these steaks are. Always cooked to the right temp and simply seasoned with their own garlic powder seasonings, these steaks really hit the spot for those with big appetites. Ive seen other reviewers complain about the "quality" because their steaks have too much fat. I wouldnt necessarily say its a quality issue but rather the way theyve been trimmed/cut. The beef is still really tasty and thats all that matters. I think these steaks are great and thats why Ive been enjoying them time after time.

I was really disappointed the last trip to Torinos. Our family would visit on special occasions and several times a month. Well , My sister and I decided to go on Saturday afternoon about 4 weeks ago. We ordered the Ribeye steak and baked potato. When the waitress brought out our steak it was just a little meat and a lot of fat. I told her I have never got so my fat on one steak, even before I tried to eat. She told me let me take it back and I will see if we cant get another one for you. She came back and stated she was sorry , but they couldnt do anything about it. Every time you would cut it more fat. When we were paying for our meal, lady ask if everything was okay. I told her I was disappointed in my steak. Well, the older gentleman setting at the round table started telling me you need to buy a better steak. I told him I had eat the steak there for years without ever getting one with that much fat. He said, Well, then you got what you deserve. You should have bought the New York Strip and I told him , Sir I really dont like that kind of steak. He was very rude and angry about me basing my opinion. I can tell he doesnt respect his customers , but my family and I dont have to visit anymore.

After receiving good reviews, my wife and I was excited about trying Torinos for our anniversary dinner. We went on a Wednesday night, so perhaps the B, C, or D team was working because not one thing about the whole experience was even average. We started with the fried mushrooms appetizer and they tasted worse than frozen ones made in the microwave. We both got salads and wow, not much effort goes into those. I ordered Veal Parmesan for my entre and there was so much grease floating on the top that you could bail it out with a spoon. Needless to say I didnt eat it. I ate the side of spaghetti that came with it and even that wasnt fresh or any good. My wife got the Manicotti and was edible, not great, but edible. My wife ordered dessert to try and end on a good note, but it was just pulled from the box and put on a saucer and served, no effort in that either. So unfortunately a restaurant that gets a good deal of business from the community will not be getting any more of mine. Oh and a previous review mentioned they offer coffee after a meal? Well you guess if we were offered any.....

This is the place that I have heard about where the owners were the people that bought Charlies Steakhouse in Oak Grove before it burned down. I was a fan of Charlies since the the early 90s and I sorely missed the place for the 8+ years since it burned. Torinos made my heart jump when I saw the menu and the Charlies signature items were listed on the steak page. The strip steak and king of clubs were the two that caught my eye in the show window out front. Strips have never been my "go to" steak. Ive always been drawn to: t-bone, filet and ribeyes, since they are better to take seasoning and such. I went with the strip and Torinos didnt disappoint. It was the best strip steak Ive ever had. From the signature homemade blue cheese dressing, beets on the salad and extra moist baked potato, Torinos is the true replacement for my beloved Charlies Steakhouse.

The food is wonderful, WHEN YOU GET ALL THAT YOU ORDERED. I work close to this establishment and will often call in my co-workers and my order for pick-up. The first time I ordered. I was missing the silverware and had to hunt around our work place for flatware. The second time, I was missing flatware and napkins. I was ready for another flatware oversight but found that TP works just as well (In bulk). Today however, no bread....? Guess Ill have to pack a PB&J for lunch tomorrow or go to another establishment to get my daily bread from now own. I dont always have time to do an inventory and trust Im getting all I paid for.
