DO NOT EAT HERE!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE DINING AT PLACES WHERE THEY ARE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU BEING A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. This place has the worst level of customer service in the state. I stopped by today, for the first time ever, to try the chicken wings. I very politely explained to the cashier that I had not visited before and did not like spicy food and thought I should order the mild. She shrugged her shoulders and rang in the mild. A few minutes later several young girls came in and after she gave them a proper greeting, she asked if they had ever been in before. They said "no" and she very politely and patiently explained the menu. It caused me to go back up to the cashier stand and tell her that I thought I should change my order b/c I do not like spicy food. Again, I received a shoulder shrug. At this point, I walked over to the section of the restaurant where they place to go orders on the counter and asked if my order was ready. At this point, I had been waiting about 15 minutes for a to go order. As I inquired about my order, I informed the other cashier how I did not appreciate being treated so differently from other customers while I tried to place an order. Unbeknownst the male standing next to the second cashier was the GM. He said nothing and walked to the back of the restaurant. At that point, I asked for the manager and that is when the second cashier told me that that the gentleman that had just walked off was the GM. When he returned, i gave him my complaint and he responded that he was "sorry if I perceived the cashiers actions as somehow being different towards me". I stated that it was not perception and I wanted a refund. He refused to give me a refund because my food was ready. BUT, there was no food on the counter. I then asked for the owners contact information so that I could relay how poorly my visit had gone and the GM REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE OWNERS NAME. At this point, I am livid. There is still no food on the counter. I asked where my order was so that I could leave and he told me that it was cooking!!!!! THE GM LOOKED ME IN THE EYES AND LIED ABOUT MY ORDER BEING READY. I asked for a refund or my food and at that point, probably 20 minutes after I placed a to go order, he refused to provide me with either. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AND I ADVISE YOU TO DO THE SAME. I LEFT THE RESTAURANT WITHOUT A REFUND AND WITHOUT FOOD!! HORRIBLE PLACE. ALTHOUGH IT IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF THE SOUTH, THERE IS NO SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY HERE!!! Shame on you Pepperfire!!

I was super excited to try this place I placed an order online and was given a 20 minute pick up time. Great! It was going to work well into my plans for the night. I arrived 30 minutes later expected my order to be waiting and ready. When I went to the counter, the lady went to the back and said my order was being boxed up now. Great! I thought. I waited as order after order left the kitchen and still no sign of mine after 15 minutes. I asked the counter lady what was the hold up and why she said it was being boxed when it clearly wasnt? She had the look of not even caring and just shrugged her shoulders. Another worker asked me what was wrong and I explained the situation and he said my order wasnt going to be ready in 20 minutes even though the online order and confirmation text said so. I asked him why set that expectation if you cant meet it? And why did the counter clerk clearly lie about it being ready? He apologized but I could tell he really didnt care. There are any other hot chicken places in Nashville. Boltons, Hattie Bs, Princes, and many many others. I even order online from Hattie Bs all the time and my food is ALWAYS ready when I come to pick it up and their customer service is spectacular! As far as the food here....Its just ok and not worth the price or hassle.

Thumbs up! Chicken was very juicy, flavorful, and had the EXACT amount of crispness that I like. I ordered the mild and I would say it is the equivalent of medium or maybe even hot at Hattie Bs. Start with one heat grade below what you normally go with and work your way up/down from there. Two reasons Im giving Pepperfire 4 stars instead of 5: the air conditioning was either broken or not turned on, making for a very hot and uncomfortable environment. Also, they only give you a 1.5 oz packet of ranch, and charge you 55 cents when you ask for more. 1.5 oz halfway fills up the plastic dip cup they provide. Hattie Bs and other hot chicken restaurants Ive visited give plenty of ranch dressing from the word go. I wouldnt mind paying for extra if you gave me a fair amount originally. Bottom line - Ill definitely be back!.. but probably do a take out order next time so I can take it home and ranch as much as I please.

This experience was mediocre. I ordered the "Mild" and it was covered in cayenne pepper and the hottest hot chicken I have ever had. This was MUCH hotter than the chicken at Princes, Hattie Bs, or Boltons. Mild should be mild and if it isnt you should tell people when theyre ordering. I took the food back to the counter to make sure I got the right heat level I ordered and she said "our chicken is 2 levels hotter than Hattie Bs". The problem is that the food was just hot. It wasnt that flavorful, just very very hot. I also felt it was overpriced. It was over 13 for a combo and drink. They give you a tiny packet of ranch (not even homemade) and if you ask for more they want to charge you 55 cents more. Much more than the other similar establishments in Nashville. Overall, it wasnt the worst meal but I wouldnt come back, especially with so many other great hot chicken restaurants in Nashville.

Wow...What a fantastic surprise this place is. I am not from Nashville but love Nashville Hot Chicken and try to get it at least once when I come to town. I have been told by many that it comes down to just a few places - Princes, Hattie Bs and Boltons - if you want "real" Nashville Chicken. I have had all of the above and honestly can say Pepperfire Chicken needs to considered right at the top. I would say Princes has the best but you will wait a minimum of one hour, probably more. Only slightly behind them is Pepperfire - with better decor, seating, tables etc. not to be forgotten are the fantastic side items - just so good! I had the Tender Royal mild and it was over the top good. Highly recommended and worth the drive. Having eaten at all the places I consider to be the best in Nashville Hot Chicken I really feel like Pepperfire is the best of all worlds. Enjoy!!
