This used to be my favorite West Nashville place. I have been out of town for work for several months and just had the chance to stop back in on New Years Day. I will not go back. First, they were full, but not slammed. My husband and I sat at the bar. It was difficult to get service since no one was behind it for more than 5 minutes. Finally a server helped us (he is the one bright star to this bad experience). My husband wanted to watch a bowl game instead of the high school game on TV at the bar. I told the bartender that I knew she was probably busy (she wasnt by that time but I was trying to sound apologetic in hopes that she would help) but when she got a moment could she please put the Florida game on. She rolled her eyes, said it would be ten minutes and then meandered around the bar. She never made eye contact with us or changed the channel. Guess who checked on us? The same nice server who didnt even have us as customers. He immediately changed the channel and put in an order or nachos. Our nachos came out as sour cream with a side of chips. It was a pretty poor showing for a $10 order of nachos. My husband was so annoyed at that point that we decided to cut our losses, get our check and go home to finish the game. My husband finally flagged down the terrible bartender and asked politely if we could close out. Ten minutes after that we were both still trying to get her attention as she still did not bring our check. My husband had to walk to the other end of the bar and speak loudly for her to pay attention. While he was paying, I asked to speak to a manager. This was such a horrible experience that I wanted to let them know (since I thought it was so crazy and out of character). The manager was a shorter dark blonde girl who walked up and could not care less that I was there. I told her that this was one of our favorite establishments and it was unusual to have both bad service and bad food. She promptly told me they were really busy. I mentioned that half the restaurant was empty by then and that I had been there when it was slammed and had better experiences. She shrugged it off and said another bartender called in sick. I told her I get it but thats not an excuse to be rude and ignore polite customers. She just had nothing to say. No offer to compensate, no request to give them another chance, no customer service whatsoever. Im so disappointed. I really hope the owners take note of these reviews. There are more options on this side of town now and they will be getting my business. I will also drive to 8th ave and support Melrose there because I hear it hasnt gone south like Melrose West. Final thoughts: avoid this place.

So, I just moved over to the west side about 3 months ago and the closest thing to me is ML Rose.... Thought this was going to be awesome. Sadly, not so much. Both times the bartender was in a horrible mood and choose to take it out on me as well as some of the staff, making the entire place a really unenjoyable place to be. The last time was the most memorable as I watched all of the men at the bar get served and checked on multiple times before getting asked, "do you need something?!" in a very aggressive tone. I watched another female at the bar get the same treatment when trying to get her attention for the check. After I ordered my drink, it took around 45 minutes for either bartender to acknowledge me again. They both took several minutes to complain about their days, express to co workers how irritating they were and then leave the bar area completely. I asked for my check do I could go to a table to get better service but it was the same song and dance there. The waitress was overwhelmed with no one to help her and had been treated poorly by the bar tenders herself so I wasnt noticed there either. Overall, in 1 and 1/2 hours I had one drink and someone check on me once. Totally unacceptable. I think they should take into consideration that one bad staff member can bring down the whole place.

One of the most important parts of a customer experience is the greeting. I was in this establishment for 18 min. I sat at a booth for 4 min. I moved to a table in front of the pickup window where I sat for 9- 10 min and was never greeted by numerous waitresses or management. My guest arrived and after 2min we moved to the bar. After 2-3 min of conversation between us one of 3 or more bartenders walks up and asks the guests next to us if they needed anything else. My guest finally says "excuse me, can I get a beer?" At this moment Im still wondering why I we were never greeted. I hate to bring race into the equation but we were the darkest people in the place(not including the mixed waitress and two light skinned females with white patrons). I hope race is not the case. Regardless, no one should be in your establishment and not be greeted for an extended period of time.my friend asks if she should complain to management and I said no. I doubt I will ever return. M. L. Rose please make extra effort to greet your guest no matter who they are. Also, the guy checking IDs at the door does not constitute a greeting but thank him for me anyway because he was the most attentive person in the place. P. S. I stilled tipped 25%.

Usually have had no problems with them until today. Ordered a burger well done. When I cut the burger in half and about to take a bite noticed there was quite a bit of pink in the middle so I asked if they could put it back on the grill for a little bit longer. The server apologized and took it back to get it cooked a little longer. 3 mins later got my burger back and the cook put the whole side of the burger where it was pink, including the bun, and burnt it to a crisp to where that end was not eatable. So I was mad about that but thought, well Ill eat the other side. Once I bit in it, it was still completely pink with blood coming out. Almost a slap in the face for asking to get it cooked longer and also unsanitary to even put the whole burger, bun and all, on the grille that has had raw meat on. Very disappointed by that. The manager appolgized and gave me another burger on the house. I understood her position but it was the cooks fault plain and simple. My main concern is the health issues for anybody else, if that is how they prepare your food, it is unacceptable and should be investigated for any other health risks.

So my boss & I went on a Fri. It was her first time. We walked in at 15 after & ordered food & drinks at the same time. 40 min later our food is brought out.mind you, 2 girls at another table sat at least 5 min after us & were almost finished. I asked to speak w/ the manager...her excise was that 2 large tables had their food put in before us. Without any prodding, she comped the meal. Not the end goal, but ok. So I asked for the food to be packed in to go boxes...it took her 10 min. So I get back to work & look at my Cubano. The cheese wasnt melted...pulled the bun of & there is hair. Not only did my whole lunch get wasted, but I had no food. Called & told her & she insisted that wasnt their normal quality of service. More than likely or check got lost...& the hair, well that needs to be addressed. Ps. My patty wa so dinky. It was the size of that one that is always in a batch that is much smaller. You know the one your mom put aside for you.
