Called 2 orders in today for my co-worker and myself. Her order was correct but mine wasnt. Called to let someone know that my order had bar-be-que sauce instead of Curry and the JERK who answered the phone asked me "SO What you want US to do about it?" in a rather rude tone. Last time I will have Calypso. It turns out that I am allergic to something in the BBQ sauce. It was my co-workers First now LAST trip there too and she said her food was Good!!! I guess First impressions are really meaningful. Way to Go Calypso - Charlotte Avenue location DONT GO THERE. #justrude4noreason

Absolutely horrid food. Case in point, Cuban black beans served with some sort of unholy sour cream-like abomination. Nowhere in the world of Cuban cuisine are black beans to be smothered in such a sauce. The "barbecue sauce" served with the chicken plate most resembled store-bought bargain basement salsa mixed with ketchup and syrupy sweet barbecue sauce. If elementary school cafeteria grade "ethnic" food is in your wheelhouse, this is the place for you.

Its impossible to see this soon enough from the road to swing into the parking lot. So gps it and plan ahead. Food is good but honestly the service and food is not as good as the 100 Oaks location. Thats from someone who has eaten at Calypso chain for twenty years. But if this is your neighborhood its good food, healthy and great for a picnic in Centennial park.

Food was excellent. Made me feel like I was on vacation on a beach somewhere. Atmosphere was eh but my aestetic tastes are not like most hip Nashville people. Location isnt ideal. Fairly sketchy area. But Id definitely go back and likely will because the food (which is really all that matters) was delicious and inexpensive. *****

I love this place. When we lived in Nashville, I got lunch from here at least twice a week. The Lucayan salad is one of the best things Ive ever eaten. The black bean salad is also very good. They make their own fruit tea in house, but you can also get soft drinks, coffee, and beer. If youre in Nashville, check this place out

Fast friendly service every time. Black bean salad is really good. I was vegetarian for years and have started trying to eat chicken again occasionally. Im really, really weird and picky about it. Thus far, I havent had any there that grossed me out, which is high praise.

Amazing! We were passing through town on the way to the Smokies and found this gem for lunch on TripAdvisor. We both had salads and the house dressing was fantastic! We also had a local beer (Dos Perros) from the area and it was fantastic! The service was great too!

A convenient place in the Charlotte Ave area not far from mid-town hospitals and the park. Not easy to find the first time, but easy to park and access once you have been once. A good choice for not-a-burger meal of real food. Prices reasonable, and service is quick.

I am Cuban and lived in Miami for over 30 years.. I know what Cuban food is, there is not one thing on their menu that is of Cuban desent . The owners are probably white and think they can throw black beans on anything g and call it a Cuban dish.

Been going to this Calypso since they opened on Elliston place. Love the food and great staff, but the current location is just so freaking loud inside. Needs something to dampen all the sound. Cant hear yourself think when theyre packed.

Great location, consistently great food and staff. I just wish there was one in Franklin! The black beans nachos and salad is usually what I get and its so good. Their rotisserie chicken is juicy and tender. You really cant go wrong here.

Calypso has an awesome variety of flavors and options on the menu. They cater to vegan and vegetarian choices really well and their meat options are full of flavor. Recommended the nachos. Service is usually good.
