My husband and I went to this restaurant on June 26, 2014 we were in Memphis for our Anniversary and was looking for an IHOP for breakfast. I went online to find one and this was the closet to where we were. I read the reviews which were not good, but we decided to take a chance anyway. The restaurantss overall appearance was OK, our waitress Kim was very personable and nice, we ordered our food and while we were waiting all of a sudden we hear very loud yelling and arguing, and as it turns out two of waitresses were the ones doing this, there was no managment around to stop them and it seem like to us that at any moment it would turn into a full blown physical fight. We were unsure as to leave or stay. Eventually they settled down but you could still hear rumbles of voices and the tensions were extremely high our waitress eventually came back over to our table and was very apologetic she advised us that all she said was could we all just get along (obviously this didnt work). We asked her were the manager was and she stated that he was not there that he had went to the bank and would be back. When he returned my husband asked to see him, he came over to the table and asked us if he could help us, he said that he had just gotten back and was just finding out what had just happen in his establishment we explain to him what we had experience. He seem to ignore the concerns of the situation and the safety of the customers. What would have happened if a fight had broken out while he was not there. We felt very uncomfortable since we had already ordered our food. He made no concession to our bills, which I thought would have shown his concern for the customers. The food was Ok but this incident was not. We were very disappointed in his actions and his comments about the situation. This will be the last time we come to this Ihop.

I called in my order at 843am and arrived at 857am. The person on the phone (China) said it would be ready in 10 minutes, great for me. I approach the front door and as I am I see one of their employees female approaching the door also I held the door for her. Being a gentleman in this day and here you just do these type of things. But heres the kicker she says nothing not even so much as a thank you or anything only assuming she has a chip on her shoulder or just problems. I carried a little less, I am here to pick up my order to go. I arrived to no greater or hostess at the front. Dan had to wait an additional three minutes before anyone came back to the front. I was the person didnt come back to the front she had another persons to go order which was good because mine would possibly be next. Then there was another person working here who has a blue scarf or cover for her left arm to cover tattoos she did not even acknowledge me, instead she chose to go with the next group behind me. It is business to always address anyone that was in the lobby area by saying who was next? She did none of this and went on with just the next group rather than addressing me. Sometimes it makes me wonder why reviews are so low and customers are satisfied with some parts of the service! Within the next five minutes I did receive my order from another worker (Katrina) she was very polite respectful and got my order together promptly. Overall I give the company a four star service a three star and for the lack of acknowledgment zero stars.

I had literally the worst dining experience of my life at the IHOP at 2060 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104. First, before we even entered the restaurant, we were accosted by a man begging customers for money. Then there was no one at the host stand for several minutes so the man followed us in and harassed us in the restaurant. Then, what I can only guess was the manager sat us in a section that was being renovated--they were literally pulling up the cushions in the booths next to us and doing loud construction. Okay. Then we waited. And waited. For almost an hour, we waited. The staff was congregated around a table, talking and drinking juice out of larger containers that I can only hope didnt come from the kitchen. The restaurant was not full or busy, but we were left waiting. And waiting. No server. No beverage order. Nothing. I finally flagged down a server and asked if we had been assigned a servers. She told me to wait a minute while she checked. Fifteen minutes later, we left, but not before finding the manager (we had to ask a couple servers.) He seemed very unconcerned about what happened. And finally, as the cherry on top of the pancake, the man from before accosted us again, asking for money before going directly into the dining room and going from table to table begging. This was so unprofessional, so disgusting, and so disgraceful.

Okay, heres the thing. Ive worked in the restaurant business for almost 3 years. I know things happen, but my experience there tonight was one of the worst. Waitresses walked past us, looked at us, and still didnt seat us. It took us 10 minutes of standing to even be greeted. Seriously, do your damn job and dont just stand there like an idiot. Im a server myself, but I know how to take care of my customers. The staff was rude, our waitress was fairly sweet, but another older lady came and took over. This one was rude..not only that but she served my drink in a glass that had a piece of dried shot on the inside of it. My friend pointed it out to me before I drank out of it. She didnt take my order correctly, she looked like was management too, and apparently didnt know the menu. Thats just sad. The food was okay, but Im not going back again. Its sad that its the closest IHOP to my house. Didnt get refunded or discounted at all. You dont need to be serving if you cant do your job. I work 60 hours a week, but I always act nice, not rude and arrogant. :)

Absolutely embarrassing and ridiculous is the tone of this IHOP. Firstly the parking lot was littered but I gave the benefit of the doubt. Workers may be scarce or absent. Secondly, on entrance the place smelled like urine and the bathrooms werent up to par in terms of cleanliness. Lastly, after being seated, two maybe three of the workers ARGUED loudly in the kitchen for approximately 30 mins. They could not put their selfish, weak, egos aside for the sake of the customers. I kept waiting on the situation to reside itself and........they couldnt pull it together. I made a decision to leave before we could eat (I do realize it was crowded). Our waitress was amazing and apologetic, while informing the manager of our discomfort. The manager also came and apologized while suggesting the large demanding crowd caused the tension between the arguing workers. I give them two stars because of the friendly waitress and apologetic manager. The drinks were given to us for free and I tipped the waitress for her kindness.
