It was enjoyable food and tea, but high tea seemed overpriced. For that price I expected better quality food and service. The quality of the food was mediocre. Everything tasted grocery-store quality, like bite-size quiches and mini cupcakes from Sams or something. The tea was good, but nothing remarkable. The food was sparse for the amount of money we paid. The tiers were half empty and could have at least had doilies to make it look less bare.. We got the equivalent of 2 sandwiches cut in quartered triangles. Several of the triangles were half bare (therefore just bread on bread) on half. Our waitress was somewhat inattentive. We had reservations for 3, but when we arrived right on time we were seated at a table for 2 and given an extra chair. It took a several minutes to get another tea cup and saucer placed. One person began taking our order, then gave it over to someone else in the middle. She brought our tea, and later someone else brought the food. She came back long after we had begun eating to ask if we wanted her to explain anything about the food to us but then did not. A little while later, after someone else cleared our table we continued to sit for over 15 minutes waiting for her to return. Finally we went inside and asked someone else to help us to settle our bill. We still hadnt located our waitress to give her a tip (not wanting to leave it on a table outside that had long since been cleared and was no longer being watched by staff apparently), but I finally saw her laughing in the kitchen with some other employees. We waited a few more moments but she never reemerged so we finally handed a man, maybe the manager?, a tip to give to her...though now I question why, really.

Wonderful food & service. We had a ladies family lunch there & they put up with us well. Were not rude or rowdy (since this is a English Tea Room not sure that would be tolerated), but the women in my family are extremely loud. Its all good natured. The list of different teas is a multiple page menu by itself & you can get each hot or iced. Everyone at my table loved their tea choices & I think between us we tried many different kinds of tea. The food was excellent & the savory scones are addictive. I had soup & a sandwich & it really was satisfying. The atmosphere is so cute & cozy. Each of our meals was served on different gorgeous English porcelain plates. I dont think this restaurant is too girly either - men would be comfortable here... if you like English food. They do have items like Shepherds Pie & things like that. I want to try their breakfast food next time. Wonderful time here.

Be aware you are timed and they will rush you to seat the table again. After having a very inattentive waitress the entire meal she became overly attentive asking if we needed anything else over and over again. When the owner came over to see if we needed anything I questioned why we were being rushed and we were informed there is a 2 hour limit. Considering we drove over an hour to come to celebrate my birthday I was pretty pissed off. This is the first time I have heard of a timed High Tea after going to several places around the North Shore and New Orleans. Very rude and definitely not the "Windsor Court High Tea" that I ordered. Disappointing considering we had just been talking about returning for Christmas Tea and Mothers Day Tea with the women of our family. The tea and food were good for a good price. Great scones. And a very large tea selection.

I used to LOVE this place a couple years ago. They still have great tasting, high-quality teas, but the service has severely declined. The last time we went, we were asked if we had reservations- weve been to this place at least 50 times and never had reservations- and when we said no the owner said shed have to check the schedule. Someone else helped us and we asked to sit outside. We were left waiting almost 20 mins outside when we decided to leave. We had our baby with us and thought service would be fast like it used to be. All we wanted was tea.. This was the final straw as the last few times weve been there we felt as if we werent much of a priority. Things were much better when Martin was there.

Such a pleasurable quaint place to visit and have a wonderful cup of tea and scones or even a nice meal. The food is great and there is plenty of it. The atmosphere is terrific and makes one want to just spend the afternoon having tea, visiting and letting go of the cares of the day. The décor is very interesting and comfortable, not stuffy at all and the patrons are treated like family and close friends. I highly recommend The English Tea Room to anyone that is visiting the area and to those who live here.

This is one of my favorite places in Covington and is a "must" for anyone who is visiting! Tea and fresh made scones usually cost $11 or so but its so worth it. They make two different types of scones everyday, so even if you go to the Tea Room two days in a row, you can still have some variety. the only bummer about this place is that they do not have many vegan options :( otherwise the tea room is at the top of my list for local atmosphere and experience!

The experience was wonderful and the scones were incredible. Our waitress was a very sweet young blonde that offered suggestions and made us feel so comfortable that we extended our stay and purchased tea, a tea cup, saucer and spoon to take home with us. I was treated to this experience for my birthday from my friend and loved it so much that Im taking my sister tomorrow. The drive across the lake is so worth it when you arrive at THE ENGLISH TEA ROOM.

A visit here is an experience in itself. The staff is friendly and the place has a cozy atmosphere. The tea menu can be a bit overwhelming, so dont be afraid to ask for suggestions or help when selecting a flavor. Food is also available, I would suggest the hot cross buns if you want something filling. If you enjoy British food, they have a small variety, from Bangers and Mash, to Marmite on toast.

We enjoyed our visit last month, our waitress was the best we have had there, she told us she had only been there a short time, but she was the most pleasant and attentive to all details. The owner was there and she was lovely, very accommodating. It is a bit pricey but to enjoy a girls day out you sometimes just need to splurge on yourself. Love all the options of teas, it was just lovely.

A wonderful location with lots of cool options. We had their Windsor High Tea and everything was delicious. There are so many teas to choose from its almost dizzying. The wait staff were wonderful and full of helpful information and suggestions. The high teas are a little pricey, but its well worth it for the amount of food and a nice afternoon out. I will definitely be going back soon.

After a spot of delicious tea and scones(actual), wife had Bagel and Lox, whilst I had a most hearty Shepards Pie with a homemade salad and a savory scone. Service was good. If you can, reserve the table right outside by the kitchen door. If you werent hungry, you will be when your food is served. Wonderful atmosphere and setting. Highly recommend.
