Just had lunch @ "Kaya Korean Restaurant" Montvue Rd, Knoxville. Never seen such a horrible customer service. We had to wait at the door more than 5 minutes for "the waitress" to come and assist us to a table. Again a long time to ask what kind if drinks we want. We ate from the buffet and at some point she came to collect the plates from our table and there were some food left in one of those that we couldnt eat. And she said with an unhappy face "Ok, next time dont take too much food, bcos we will have to trash them". Well I agree it is bad wasting food, but what if we dont like the taste, when we try them for the first time? Thereafter she didnt show us a good face, actually never attended our table, no refills to our drinks. And also when our two year old didnt have perfect table manners, she was checking him with a disgusting face!

As I write this Im eating nummy leftover Bulgogi. My got the Chicken Teriyaki and was also pleased. We ordered the fried dumplings as an appetizer. They were super-crispy and quite tasty. There was an assortment of vegetable sides: lettuce with a lightly sweet / tart dressing, cucumber with the same dressing, but more cayenne pepper, bean sprouts, potato chunks stir fried in a sweet sauce, and of course, kim chee. Our entrees came out sizzling on skillets, similar to fajita style. The food was quite excellent, and the atmosphere felt very authentic (having never been to Korea, I cant say for sure :-). Together our meal was about $28 with tax ( not counting tip), so a good value for the experience.

Well, i just took my wife out for her birthday today, and she wanted to go to this Korean place..Ive had better service at Mc Donalds to be honest..The waitress was rude as hell, she walked away while my wife was ordering because she wasnt ordering fast enough to suit that rude broad..I wanted to leave , but my wife begged me to stay..Look when im spending 80.00 bucks on lunch i expect service with a smile, not this grouchy old bag..She is also the Cashier and table cleaner..She will bus a dirty table then get her hands on your food..In short i thought this place sucks..The food was ok,,overpriced for what it was though..Next time we will just go to Longhorn steak house..

I have always received excellent and courteous service when eating at this restaurant, with friends and with family alike. The food is always delectable, and honestly is some of the best Korean food i have had in and around Knoxville. My compliments to the staff, and the restaurant as a whole. I enjoy the experience each and every time. You have my respect, and I sincerely hope the restaurant keeps bringing such great tasting food to Knoxville. I have recommended many friends and family to eat here, and they have had the same pleasant experience. My regards!

I suppose I choose wrong when I went with the buffet or possibly came at a bad time for the lunch buffet itself but the food was unfortunately overcooked, dried out, & sadly all tasted the same. Part of the fault could also be on me not knowing if how I served up my plates were correct or if I was suppose to mix things around instead of eating them separately. I would be willing to try Kayas again but Im in no rush as the prices seemed too high for the quality of service & food received. Note: Wait to be seated & Pay at table

We were going to Smoky Mountain and stayed two night at Knoxville. We found this restaurant very late time, about 9:30 PM. They still warmly welcomed us. We ordered soup kind of menus. The food was very delicious. The services could not be better. At the next day, we also went there. The maam welcomed very warmly again. We ordered grill type menus. The food made us greatly impressed. Also we felt very homemood. We should say many thanks to them.

Service was a little slow to start, but be patient because its worth it. We came at the end of the lunch buffet, and once that crowd cleared out the food service was rapid. We ordered the vegetable pancake, pork and vegetables, and kimchi dolsot bibimbop. Everything was spectacular. What a gem for Knoxville. I want to eat lunch here every day. Also really great for vegetarians as they have lots of options. Cant recommend enough.

I have never had a bad experience. The food is awesome, atmosphere is low key and quiet and pricing is reasonable considering they make dishes you CANT replicate or find anywhere else in East Tennessee. They even offer the option of grilling your own food at the table! I highly recommend the Teobukki, seafood pancake and bulgogi! (My personal favorites)

Great food and sides but slow service. I really like the unlimited refills for table shared sides. The kimchi and spicy cucumber is my favorite. I have really liked all the main dishes that I have tried so far and even brought some friends visiting from China (they loved it). If you have some time (patience) it is worth the wait.

Clean, plenty of room. Very much to date Korean food. Wheelchair accessible, restrooms was clean. Dinning area clean and neat. Food was brought to our table in a flash. Servers were friendly and welcoming. Kimchi was never disappointing started off with kimbob and came up with some more tasty dishes to come. So worth the stop.

(Ive never felt strong enough about a place to actually write a review) Got ribeye BBQ (take the fact thats cooked right in front of you out of the equation) its literally probably the best food Ive ever experienced in my past few years or trying wild foods. Get a group without the first exception.

My family and I had the Korean BBQ, it was delicious and prepared fresh. The woman who served us were sweet and very accommodating. My sister came and shes extremely picky and they did everything they could to make her comfortable. The food is right on and so is the service.

Great authentic Korean dishes but sometimes are just not that clean. I would also watch out for the buffet. I never thought their buffet was that clean and they got in trouble with the health inspector over improper food temperatures of the food on the buffet not to long ago.

The service was worst ever. The old lady throws the menu on the table, and came back after 20min, never ask for order. We sited about 30 minutes no food no drink come, even no silverware! I dont know why that lady has this bad mood , maybe her mom just dead.

I like this place quite a bit. There dont seem to be too many options for Korean in Knoxville. Ive had better in other cities, but I still come back to Kaya several times a year. They do a lunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays that is pretty good as well.

They arent usually very hospitable, but I can usually overlook that because the food is so good. Today was terrible: they wouldnt restock the buffet and we had to get our own drinks. No apology was offered for the poor experience. Probably wont be back.

First time and will come back! We were visiting Knoxville, and the restaurant had mixed reviews. But we took a chance and did not regret it. The bbq was awesome. The service was impeccable. Our Server Chang kept coming back and checking the food.
