Food here is not authentic Korean food. Its almost an insult to Korean cusine. The Kal-bi meat was too thinly sliced so it became dry on the grill. It had no marbling at all, which is a characteristic of what makes Kal-bi so good. The grill had coating peeling off (I am pretty sure I ended up eating some of that coating with the meat). When I wiped the grill with my napkin before anything was put on the grill, black residue came off and stained the napkin. I had to ask for a clean grill. The rice was too dry. It seemed like it wasnt freshly prepared. It tasted like it sat in the rice cooker for too long and became dry. When I visited, it was a Thursday late afternoon, around 4pm. There was no customer when I arrived. There were two employees who were chatting. When I walked in the restaurant, they both looked at me and then walked away without saying anything. It was very odd. I had to stand there until one of them returned. Call me crazy, but isnt it a common courtesy to at least acknowledge your customer and ask the customer to wait, instead of just walking away without saying anything, especially after you had made an eye contact? Lastly, the Kal-bi I had was so terrible, I decided to order something else. But then again, there was no one to take my order. After the waitress first served my order, she just disappeared. I waited and waited. she wouldnt return, I had to go to the kitchen door and call for the waitress. To sum it all up, it was a terrible experience. One last comment (really). The name "oshio" means "come". Korean language has a polite speech, one you use to people you respect such as the elders and "the customers". And then theres the casual speech, which you use toward your juniors. Guess what? "Oshio" is latter. It is not even a request to come but more of a commanding tone. With this type of arrogant name, I thought the establishment would back it up with great food. I was completely wrong.......

ENGLISH REVIEW: Simply amazing! We didnt know what to expect from this place when we arrived. It was Valentines Day and the traffic was jammed, so my brother and I decided to take a right and eat on this Japanese restaurant. Best detour ever! The food is delicious, one of the best we ever had. The atmosphere is breathtaking, the decoration is awesome and the price was pretty honest. Do I have any complaints? Yeah, it is too far away from home!

My partner and I went to iFly for Valentines Day and this place just happened to be right next door. We havent tried traditional Korean food so it was a bit of a gamble on our part, but it was close by and we were VERY hungry. From the fact that they highlighted BBQ, I was a little wary- Im vegetarian (my partner is not). We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were things we could both order from the menu and that they were totally capable and willing to accommodate us regarding items or ingredients wed rather not have included in a dish. The food was great, the staff was friendly (our server was especially kind and charming), and I cant recall the last time I was served so quickly. It was certainly a delightful surprise. We had been planning to have dinner elsewhere, but the restaurant we had intended to go to didnt open till 5 and we were ready to eat before that. By happenstance we stumbled in here and I initially thought the prices a bit high, based on the somewhat casual exterior and it being set back a bit from the road. After we got our food and were waited on so well though, I felt like we definitely got our moneys worth. It was a lovely meal and a fine place to find. If you worry that you dont know much about Korean food or arent sure if youll like it, the staff here can provide good suggestions and accommodate your tastes. They also offer a variety of dishes that youre sure to find familiar, in case trying something new isnt really your thing. Overall, I was pleased with my food and experience. If I ate meat, Id probably try the bbq, but as thats not my bag and hasnt been for almost 20 years, Ill just say that I enjoyed my food, my partner enjoyed the chicken, and Im sure youll enjoy something too if you try it.

English / Portugues The place is amazingly good in all ways. The decoration is so beautiful it can only be matched by the food. Ive traveled to many places around the world and Ive never (EVER) been to a japanese restaurant this good. I didnt try the korean food, but I guess it should be just as good. A MUST if you are in town and looking for a good place to eat and relax.

Oshio is a mainly Korean food restaurant although the interior is decorated with Japanese and Chinese motives. Despite being a Korean restaurant, dishes from some other parts of Asia can be found on the menu. Korean BBQ is available on the table. However, at least two orders of meat must be ordered otherwise the meat will be cooked in the kitchen. The waitress was friendly and accomodating, yet the service was slow despite being empty. I ordered Kimchi stew (kimchi jjigae) which came with 6 different side dishes and white rice. The side dishes included white and red kimchee and bean sprouts with sesame oil. The kimchi was sweeter and less condimented than usual. My kimchi stew ($13.95) had a nice miso broth which was not too thick or spicy, with large firm tofu pieces. As with Korean stews, it was served boiling hot, thus eat it with caution. In general, Oshio offers acceptable Korean food which has been slightly adapted to the American taste by decreasing the level of spiciness and sourness of the food. The kimchi stew was a hearty meal, and the refillable side dishes were fresh and crunchy. Yet, I would recommend going to Go Hayang Gip Korean Restaurant for a REAL Korean meal.
