I found a new Southern favorite! Tupelo Honey restaurant in Franklin was a surprising experience and I cant wait to go back. Right from the moment we entered the restaurant, the hostess was warm and greeted us with a smile--a rare experience nowadays in the Franklin area because of the snooty, spoiled teenagers working at other restaurants. Once seated, our server Hanna was outstanding right from the beginning. She was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable of the menu. She provided menu suggestions and even took the time to explain the restaurant and style. My friend enjoyed his dish tremendously (apologies for not remembering the dish). I had the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese. As you can see in the attached picture, the dish was a perfect blend of Pumpernickel bread, white cheddar, and exceptionally tender and flavorful pulled pork. The sandwich was awesome and it gave a new meaning to grilled cheese. The dish was accompanied by a Goat Cheese Grits side dish. It was an interesting take on grits. Although it needed salt for flavor, which I added after first taste, the side dish was pleasantly appetizing. We did try the Mac & Cheese appetizer but it was somewhat bland and overly dry. Maybe the cook or chef was off his or her game that day. The biscuits were hot, crumbly and simply good. When you add the homemade blueberry spread and Tupelo Honey, the whole bread combination was just amazing. Adding to the whole experience was the manager that was obviously roaming the restaurant floor, helping his employees, greeting and talking to customers. This manager has a true passion for the restaurant and it shows. We had a pleasant visit with him and I learned much about the history of the restaurant and namesake honey itself. Everyone in Metro Nashville and its surrounding cities need to visit this brand new restaurant. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Five Stars!!!

Atmosphere was nice, and the resturant is very pretty. Service was less than stellar. Took several minutes for the two of us to be greeted. No drinks were offered or suggested, neither were apps. When she finally returned with our drinks we ordered. We both ordered a starter salad which didnt arrive until the meal came. I had the salmon whcih still had half of the soggy skin on it--I presume the salmon doesnt arrive fresh or is frozen upon arrival because it did not have a flaky texture--fish was also grossly underseasoned. Salt, people. Salt. Also had the brussel srpouts which are labled on the menu as "crispy," but actually arrive mushy and with too much oil (my second time having the brussles, first time in Knoxville, same disappointment). My second side was the baked mac and cheese, the pasta used is a croxetti-style pasta and is obviosly pre-made then reheaded which makes the already doughy pasta disks chewy and very starchy. Half way through the meal, my guests water had been empty for a while, we refilled it ourselves. I can comment positivly on the biscuts and honey, and the managements response to the poor service we had recieved. In all, poor service, nice atmosphere, mediocre food.

Our family had dined at the Tupelo Honey in NC and really enjoyed it. We had been to the one in Franklin at least two times before and found it lacking and not on par with our experience in Asheville. We thought perhaps it was grand opening mishaps and would give it one more try today. If it was possible to give this establishment a zero, we would. We arrived well after the lunch crowd - 1:30ish so we assumed it would be less crowded. It was, but you would have thought our served had 20 tables. His attention to detail was completing lacking. We saw with empty glasses for a good 10 minutes before he returned. Our food arrived at least 30 minutes after we were seated and the portions were very small considering the prices. I asked for additional dressing for my salad given that the first container they provided was about the size of a quarter. When our tab arrived, to my surprise I had been charged .50 for additional dressing and they had charged us .50 for additional mustard for his sandwich. There are far too many restaurants in the Cool Springs area which offer better service, adequate portions with reasonable prices so its easy to avoid going back to Tupelo Honey.

Holy brunch. Tupelo Honey Cafe has the best brunch in Cool Springs. Ive lived in the area for almost two years and most restaurants are corporate and lack that "local" flair. Tupelo Honey Cafe is a beacon of hope for the Franklin area. The service is amazing. I sat at the bar and both bartenders took amazing care of me. They were just the right amount of attentive. The mimosas are huge and amazing. I got the $10 mimosa because they donate money to help hungry people when you order one. They also have an $8 mimosa. The extra two dollars is worth it! You do a little good in the world and get more. The bartender suggested their special - some type of crab scramble. I decided the try their Eggs Benedict. They bring you a biscuit before your meal (I didnt get my biscuit before because the food came out so quickly). I let the bartender know it was my first time and the manager come over to greet me. Excellent touch. The Eggs Benedict were amazing! Do not drive up to Nashville just to get some decent brunch. If you are in the Franklin/Brentwood area you should come here. I cant wait to come back and try dinner!

Thursday, 1/12/17: Not just an ordinary evening. I met friends for dinner to catch up on news and each others lives. I had never been to Tupelo Honey Cafe. Our server, Sam, was the greatest. I through caution to the wind and asked for Sams choice! I had the Shoo Mercy Shrimp & Grits (with caramelized onions, mushrooms, spinach and bacon). Sam even recommend the Honeysuckle & Lavender Flip cocktail. 1. Sam was great. Professional, funny and provided excellent service. 2. As I sit here eating left overs (next day) as the portion was huge! The Grits were creamy, shrimp cooked just right and who can go wrong with caramelized onions and bacon? No one! 3. The cocktail was tart and had a crisp taste which paired well with the richness of the meal. I enjoyed visiting with my friends because Sam didnt pressure us to "move along". He was attentive yet let us visit. A great first time at Tupelo Honey Cafe in Franklin, TN. I would recommend you stop in, ask for Sam to serve you, if he is there and prepare to have a wonderful meal. Eat a biscuit too! Thanks Sam!

Sat at the bar for lunch, waited way too long for the bartender to take our order, the place was less than half full, bartender was socializing with co worker that was sitting at the bar having their lunch. Finally ordered the spinach, mushroom, fried green tomato sandwich, bar tender recommended as the best on the menu, The sandwich was hard, cold with hardly any spinach or mushrooms, the French fries were so hard they must have been re-fried several times. Husband had Tupelo burger, he had to pick bone chunks from the burger, he did not finish the burger. We finally had to call for someone to take our credit card, no one ask how it was, nor were we offered a box to take it home. We did not want to take it home, but an offer should have been made since the plates were full. When leaving, the host, and hostesses were having private conversations, not one lifted their head to say "thanks, come back again" Needless to say, our first time is our last time at this place. Our first and last time we will go here,
