Not as great as I had hoped. My husband and I stopped into the Listening Room for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We both ordered a bloody mary, which we enjoyed. I got the smokehouse bbq burger and liked that; I also thought the fries were good. They did forget to bring the side of ranch I asked for. My husband ordered the potato hash, which we both agreed sounded promising. The potato hash was very underwhelming even to me, and Im the least picky eater I know. It was diced potatoes with two eggs on top of it. My husband was not even going to finish it, so I took a few bites. The potatoes were neither crispy nor did they have a great flavor. I was surprised at how bad they were, given how simple of a dish it was. Upon ordering, my husband also ordered a side of bacon to go with the potato hash. They brought out 3 pieces, which was expected. However, when we got the bill, they had charged $4..... for the 3 pieces of bacon. The music was enjoyable; 4 people were up on the stage and took turns singing and playing their music. The Listening Room seemed like a great place to go for evening drinks and live music, but I would not recommend going there for the food. My husband works near there, so we may go back at some point, but our first visit there was definitely mediocre.

I love the Listening Room Cafe. The singer/songwriters that perform there are phenomenal! I am a local and go to shows at least 2 to 3 times per month. The staff is great, the venue is large, the ticket price is perfect, and when the right audience is there, magic can happen at any given show. I saw my first standing ovation in Nashville at this venue. The reason I cant give this venue 5 stars is that although it has the potential to be the biggest game in town, it is totally missing the mark with their menu offerings, pricing, and the silly things they do to "save" money like no longer providing straws. There are no salt & pepper shakers on the table either which is annoying. Listening Room, please listen to one of your biggest fans. Go back to the basics and quit making me pay extra for fries with my $14 burger. Make us want to come back several times a week for not only the best shows but the best food. If you can do that, you will rule downtown Nashville!

Where to start. Went for Sunday brunch. I got the buffet. It was as basic as you can get. They actually put out burnt waffles. There were not enough serving utensils. The cook came out and actual had an attitude towards the people standing around. My wife ordered all you can drink mimosas, the staff would repeatedly walk past our table and refill one tables drinks and not check the joining tables and just walk away. My wife ordered a sandwich an hour later after asking we were told there was a printer malfunction. Our server didnt even notice that her table hadnt received any food, a simple table touch would have probably prevented all of this. My wife had enough and told them she didnt want the food. No team work whatsoever, no attention to detail. It was apparent that the place was not ready for customers when the doors opened. Spoke to the manager and while apologetic the bad service continues while we sit here.

I had always watched the parade of different businesses,in this building, from my friends encore condo, with interest, but never ventured inside. Now that I have , Listening Room has seen me more consistently than any other venue in Nashville. My man and I bring out of town guests here, meet here after work, you name it. And thats without knowing who is playing. My night was made when we happened to be present the night the "Woman Like You" songwriter was performing...Im STILL living large off of that moment! Weve been to charity fundraisers here, never feeling like we were crammed in but definitely feeding off of the energy of the large crowd. A nice plus is the fact that their food ranges from definitely passable to really good (french onion soup and siracha dish are two go-to dishes). The Listening Room Cafe is definitely a jewel in Nashvilles crown

My husband, myself and our 2 daughters + friend (ages 13 & 16) stopped in here on a Monday night. Got there around 6pm. There was no waiting in line to get in. Shout out to our waiter, Paul, he was fantastic. We watched the 6pm show and than stayed for a little of the moonshine & music show. We all absolutely loved it!!! My girls said this was their favorite part of the vacation. The singer/songwriters were fantastic performing. And they came up to the table afterwards and asked what we liked. we also got pics with them. The groups that came on later that evening were also fantastic! Food was good, atmosphere was great, music was wonderful! I highly recommend this place to all ages. We will definitely be back here when we come back to Nashville!!!

Want some good food and great music without all the hassle of getting into the Bluebird Cafe (not to knock it)? The listening room cafe has a large dining room and was really easy to get tickets to. There is free parking in their lot for customers ($10 for non-customers) and they let us park there about an hour before the show so we could hit Broadway. They have a nice menu with lots of options. The pricing is a little high but portion sizes are good. The hot chicken is delicious, but even the mild will take your head off. The music is the real kicker. The talent was excellent and the show was all acoustic. Definitely a place to check out for a good, hassle-free evening.

My husband and I really enjoyed The Listening Room Café. We were looking for a unique Nashville experience to enjoy during our short visit. We are huge fans of country music, so it was really exciting to get to hear musicians that were trying to earn their own spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame. We loved hearing amazing song writers perform their work. The food and atmosphere were also great. People really got into the performance with clapping and cheering throughout dinner. Overall great experience! I recommend this café to all of my friends and family traveling through Nashville.

I had brunch today in must be the most poorly "managed" bar/restaurant/cafe in Nashville/Tennessee/USA. The blackboard outside advertised music from 11:30 and some young kids sauntered on stage at 12:15. The "manager" (who must be a friend of a friend - as hes clearly has no restaurant management skills) stood around talking to his staff while 60% of the vacated tables remained uncleared. Fortunately we were served by Kimberly, the only front of house person that seemed to be working - and Im sure she will succeed at whatever she chooses. Can I recommend the place - hell no!

Considering we had only heard of the listening room from one of the local musicians playing a bar on Broadway, we could have nearly missed taking in a show and dinner here. This was the best place we visited during our trip to Nashville. The artists were amazing, the setting was very intimate, and the food was some of the best wed had on our trip. If you go to Nashville, make a reservation (they charge a few dollars per person at the table- I think it was $5 each the night we were there) and see some of the best artists/song writers on the planet. We will be back for sure!
