My wife and I had planned a special date together for several weeks. We started our day together by paying a visit to the Egg & I. From the moment we arrived we liked the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the friendliness of the staff. It was easy to feel like family with our waitress as she made great suggestions for our breakfast. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was obviously super fresh and piping hot too! The coffee was as good as any gourmet coffee shop in Knoxville too. Adam (the General Manager) even took time to check on us! It was no surprise to find out he loved his job there . I think we can sum up our experience as "A Definite Do-Again!" We recommend the Egg & I 110%! George and Holly Thompson Powell TN

I have been here before and really liked it but our experience today was the worst!!!!!!! The waitress was just plain lazy and when our drinks and our carafes were empty I told the hostess that we had not been checked on and needed drinks. The waitress came up and said did yall need me for something? Really were we bothering you. Biscuits and gravy was cold and then a scramble was over cooked and could not be eaten A member of management got involved but we still did not see much of our waitress. I wont be back. Period.

Go get yourself a breakfast burrito at Sonic and save yourself a few dollars. We absolutely loved the Egg and I, so we assumed the same from these rascals... It was a Sunday crowd at 12:30pm with a 35 minute wait to be seated, 40 minute wait for food and the food they served was very subpar. It has been four years since my family have had that level of a culinary disaster. I felt terrible for the hostess and waitresses, as all they they could do was apologize. I didnt get frustrated until the food arrived.

My daughters and I came and waited about 35 minutes for our food, then the food was not even hot. I was disappointed and wont come back to eat here. When the cashier asked how my meal was, she said oh im sorry. I dont think that the Egg and I really wants to know the truth about the food quality. I honestly think it would have been better to go to IHOP or something equivalent. I drove from East Knoxville to eat here. :- (

The OJ was delish, the food seemed fresh and the service was nice. The eggs benedict had a fully cooked egg (like hard boiled) for the "poached egg" and hardly any hollandaise, but the flavor wasnt bad. My husbands eggs were overcooked, sausage undercooked, and bacon burnt. Not entirely unpalatable, just incorrectly prepared. Menu looks good, just maybe the cook was off his game today.

I requested to sit on their outdoor patio. Even though our temps have been 95+ for weeks, it was so lovely, shady and breezy. I actually thought Id never eat outside for months. Had the Farmers Hash which is a summer special. Amazing! Roasted veggies, eggs, Apple chicken sausage, potatoes, a surprise in every bite of wonderful things. Hope they keep it on the menu for good.

If you have the patience of Job and could care less about the quality of service, this is the place for you. The restaurant was only half full when we arrived yet we waited 50 minutes for lukewarm food and an attitude from the server. From the fidgety people around us we were not alone. We gave this place two tries. Not going to risk another.

It is Expensive, about $10 a person...but it isnt just your plain old egg, bacon, and sausage breakfast. This is more gourmet and exciting flavors that wet you pallette. The portion size can very depending on who the cook is that day. I looovvvveeee their Omelets!!! One of my favorite breakfast spots.

Fantastic Place to eat! The food and the service were equally great! The wait staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you could possibly need. Tiffany, the manager, doesnt miss a beat no matter how big the crowd! My only complaint is that it isnt open all day and for dinner!

The food and service were great. Our wait time was shorter than quoted. The dining area is bright and spacious. The menu had many unique, delicious sounding items. Our food came out in a a very reasonable time. Our server was very attentive. We left full and satisfied.

This place deserve at least a 4 for their food. It is very tasty. Now the big but...it is also very pricey. If you are looking for a deal, this is not the place to have breakfast, but if you want some fairly decadent breakfast choices, then you will enjoy it.

Food is great, staff friendly and courteous. Beware if they are very busy. They prepare fresh and if busy you cannot get in and out in less than an hour. All of my experiences have been breakfast, lunch may be different.

Food was disappointing, especially given the reputation. The price of a full pitcher of coffee was the same as one glass of orange juice. Simply overpriced for it all, frankly. The coffee was stellar, however.

No longer the Egg and I. It is First Watch breakfast brunch and lunch. The food was good. We were shocked the Egg and I wasnt there. The menu is somewhat smaller than the Egg and I. Some things are similar.

Loved the complementary coffee while we waited. Food was excellent. I ordered fruit instead of potatoes but didnt receive it. No coffee refills offered. But I would go back. Friendly staff.

Waited for 20 minutes to be acknowledged by staff at our table. Asked who our waiter was, waited 5 more minutes for an answer before walking out. Extremely disappointed in the service.

Good spot for breakfast but missing something ineffable. Love the location and wanted to like the food more, but was left feeling unimpressed. Worth the drive to First Watch instead.

Delicious food great service when it was E& I. Too bad Egg & I is sold out to something Different. I forget the odd name of it now. Food is changed. I will not be eating there.

I came here with a group for breakfast. Had an omelet with orange juice and thought they tasted great. Came back another time for coffee only, it was good then too.

Egg dishes were overcooked & dry Sides of pork green chili & asparagus were disappointing If food had been good the price would not be an issue Will not go back!

Disappointing compared to the Egg and I. Menu and cuisine pales by comparison. So disappointed that First Watch bought out this Egg and I. Will not be returning.

Love the atmosphere, food is always good. Some of the items are a bit expensive for what they are but overall always worth a visit.

Not impressed. Got food to go, half the potatoes were inedible, they also messed up the order.
