We grabbed dinner to go here one evening during our SC vacation. The restaurant is not large or flashy. In fact, it is a simple little place with a few seats inside and out. As soon as we pulled in, we could smell the delicious smoke coming out of the smokers in the back. The service was outstanding. The woman who took my order was fantastic. She explained all the options to me and made great suggestions. We ordered the Family Dinner which came with 1 1/2 pounds of barbecue pork, 3 sides, and a dozen hushpuppies. For our sides we chose onion rings, slaw, and beans. We also added some buns to make sandwiches. There were a number of barbecue sauces from which to choose. The server went over each one with me. I decided on the mild vinegar based as well as some of the sweet sauce for the kids. Both were delicious. The meat was tasty and lean. There was just the right amount of fat to make it juicy without making it greasy. There was no gristle or hard pieces that you sometimes get at barbecue places. Lots of lean, juicy meat with a little bark mixed in. The onion rings were tasty. Good batter and generous amount of onion. The slaw was a mayo based slaw which was a little on the bland side. I generally prefer a vinegar based slaw with barbecue, but it paired fine with the pork. The beans were spicy. The server did tell me when I ordered them that they were spicy, but I cant order barbecue without getting beans so I got them. Usually when I get beans at a barbecue restaurant the sauce is thick and sweet. The sauce for these beans were thin and spicy. I would classify them as a medium heat. If I had to guess I would say that they made them using the spicy vinegar barbecue sauce. All in all, the food was good. The service was great. And we would definitely come back again.

WOW!!!!!!!! This place is a must go too if you go on vacation in the North Myrtle Beach area, or if you already live there...lol... The food is some of the best bbq we ever had in our life and we been all around the country. Ribs, chopped pork, everything we ate were delicious. All the sauces were awesome. I am from Buffalo area and I like my chicken wings and their chicken wings were the best I ever had!!! So Good!!! Never had them smoked than fried to get them crispy.... Cant wait to go on vacation again down there to go eat there! At first we were looking for a good bbq sit down restaurant to eat at and we choose to go somewhere else and save going here for a just lunch the day we were leaving. Worst mistake we made... could have ate here two, three times during the week! So dont do what we did, you got to try this place, if your dressed up to go out on the town or your just looking for a quick bite to eat treat yourself to some great food and great service!!!

Been coming here on and off for a few years when Im in the area and it is one of those places where you really cant go wrong. My go to is the corn, the baked beans (they have a kick and arent syrupy sweet so its a nice change of pace) and the wings. Get em naked, you wont be sorry. Everything is fantastic and the prices are decent. I come from NC, the land of bbq and can attest that this place could contend up there. If you want to step away from seafood and go local, swing by you wont be sorry. Also the staff is great, friendly, helpful and fun to talk to, they dont treat visitors like a burden and its really nice!

I went here during a family vacation because it looked like "real" Southern BBQ (not like a chain restaurant in a shopping center claiming to be "authentic"), and was very pleasantly surprised. This was the BEST BBQ I have ever tasted. Both my wife and I are into healthy lifestyles but were okay with a little splurge on vacation, but actually there was very little grease or anything artificial - you can tell its all fresh and natural, even their sauces. On top of that, it was very inexpensive and in a standalone building like something out of a 1950s film. Seriously check this place out, A+ food for sure.

Yuck and double yuck!!! I am a real eastern bbq lover and this definitely did not qualify anywhere near what I expected, due to listening to other reviews. Most of the time, when I visit a new place I always read what others thought and am very open minded. Many raved about the quality of the bbq, and I found it to be extremely poor. Chopped to smithereens and tasteless. I suppose if you arent used to Eastern bbq, you wouldnt know what you are getting and what you are really missing. This place also doesnt know what qualifies as good pulled pork bbq. Ewww what a waste of money.

This place is a little gem. Food was excellent. Wife and I had the pork plate. Pork was declicious. Wife isnt really a fan of pork, but she loved their pork. We both had hush puppies for our first side and second side wife had potato salad. I had the hand cut fries. Hush puppies were excellent. Cooked just right. Hand cut fries were tasty. Good fries dont need ketchup and these were that good. Service was excellent. Lexi was always smiling and provided excellent service. Prices are reasonable, especially for being in Cherry Grove close to the beach. We will be back!

Ordered a "BBQ nacho" & nowhere did it say that the nachos came with pork. Once it was given to us we told the waitress "we dont eat pork please take it away". The way she handled it from there on was disgusting. She goes to the kitchen and we can hear her saying "oh now theyre saying they dont eat pork... Yeah i dont know they said they cant eat it, anybody want it?" Her tone was unnecessarily rude. We couldve also hear indistinct murmuring from the kitchen. If we werent so hungry we wouldve left everything and went some place else.

My family and I walked into "Old South" barbecue, and were immediately greeted and told to sit down where we like. As soon as we attempted to sit down at least ten flies flew up from the condiments on the table. We figured it was a bad spot, so we moved to another table. After looking at the menu we asked the waitress about brisket, which is a very popular southern barbecue. The waitress told us that they dont cook brisket there and they were also out of wings and chicken altogether. Dont eat here!

Hole-in-the-wall local bbq joint. Only room for about 5 small parties inside, but more seating room outside. You can get tons of delicious bbq and 2 sides for under $10, and for the bbq, choose from 4 sauces at your table. The only thing that wasnt amazing was the red/bbq/hot coleslaw (heard it referred to in a few ways). It tasted like kimchi - good, but Id rather go for regular coleslaw or the other sides. We had great service and overall a great meal.

While on vacation from Maryland, my wife and I took our 2 boys here for lunch. Without question the best place we ate at while on vacation. The waitresses were wonderful. They even mixed 2 house bbq sauces for me which was out of this world delicious. Ive told many of my friends and coworkers about this place and they are all looking forward to going there on their vacations. Thank you very much for a great meal and an even better experience.
