To start, the free parking was nowhere to be found. No one was available outside to ask about the locale of posted free parking. But, it is downtown, so paying for parking is to be expected. On to the service. Speedy, very friendly, and consistently attentive. The noise level? For people who complain about the din, it’s a BBQ restaurant! BBQ is not supposed to be an intimate meal or venue. Now for the dinner. For a starter, I ordered the creole spiced deviled eggs. They were firm and tasty, with a nice balance of spiciness, as well as being creamy and fresh. For dinner, I ordered the deluxe brisket plate. The bark was great. However, the brisket was far too lean, and although tender, was very dry. That includes both cuts on the plate. Their BBQ sauce made it palatable. I was somewhat shocked that a signature cut of meat would be of such low quality. I don’t know if it was over trimmed by the staff, or if the meat quality is suspect. Dry brisket is inexcusable. The cornbread muffin was delicious. Not too sweet, not too smooth; nice bite. The smashed potatoes were fine, but the gravy tasted like it was poured from a can. I believe, with all the drippings available, great gravy should be an easy accomplishment. The coleslaw is unlike any I have ever tasted, in the world. It was so sour, as to be inedible. Neither my guest nor I could eat it. I liked the shred size and consistency, but the taste was an assault on my palate. I have no answer to the coleslaw issue, other than to start over. Having been stationed in several southern states, I have sampled BBQ every imaginable style, St. Louis, Kansas City, Georgia, Carolina, mustard, dry, wet, tomato, maple, creole, Cajun, whiskey, rum, and moonshine. This store served below average BBQ, even by Yankee standards. Unfortunately, this Dinosaur BBQ is not a repeat business. It has been many years since I visited the Rochester store, but I don’t recall ever having this experience at that location.

I went to Buffalo, NY for a quick day trip. I knew that I wanted to have a nice dinner before heading back home to Canada, so I dropped by here which wasnt far from the border. Oh, what an amazing choice that was! The food was amazing! I wanted so many items, but decided to go with what the server recommended. I had the chili nachos and the burger with fries and rice. It was all super good. The overall atmosphere is family-friendly, and there are certainly lots of people which isnt bad at all. My only complaint was how long it took for me to get seated, and how long it took for my server to come and take my order! I had to ask multiple times for my server. Frankly, for that I wanted to give less tip, but they only gave 3 options which were (18, 20, 22%) - in Ontario, its 10, 15, or 20. Why are tips so high in NY? Anyways, had a good time, and can definitely recommend this place to others.

Excellent!! We hired Dino BBQ to cater our September wedding, and were so glad we did! For once, everyone raved about the food at a wedding - when has that ever happened?? Everything was absolutely delicious - the brisket, ribs, chicken and sides made everyone, even the vegetarians happy. The price point was such a better value by far than every other wedding caterer we checked out. They also ran the bar for our wedding and it was great - lots of choices of wine, beer, spirits and mixed drinks. Sarah and the team were so great to work with - professional, friendly, flexible, enthusiastic, and very patient and responsive with our many questions and emails. At the end of the evening they packed us up the leftover food and insisted on loading it into the trunk of our limo! A nice final touch. We wholeheartedly recommend Dinosaur for catering, dinner out, or anything. Theyre the best.

Ive been to the location in Brooklyn for takeout but this location had better food and staff. I came here on a Tuesday roughly around 1:30pm and the restaurant was fairly empty, I saw a large party of 10 people and 2 other tables occupied. Kim our waitress was awesome, she was friendly and attentive. What we got: Dino poutine - $7.95. The three of us shared this but omg I need more of this in my life. I should have just gotten this as my main course lol Bbq brisket reuban - moist soft brisket with cole slaw and spicy thousand island, very tasty. I chose the option with two sides for $12.50. Got mac and cheese and fried rice. Mac and cheese was on point but fried rice was your run of the mill chinese takeout fried rice lol. Portion was generous, I had half my order left over to take home. We were all very satisfied with the food, service and itis. :D

I would give this place five stars if there were more options for food that wasnt spicy. If you enjoy spicy food, this Bar-B-Que restaurant is the place to be The reuben brisket sandwich that I had was very good. Unfortunately that was just about the only thing on the menu that didnt sound like it would be full of spicy flavours. I was even enjoying my first couple of bites of my mac and cheese side dish, then the spicy flavours started to come through. My fellow diners absolutely raved about everything they had. I enjoyed the flavours of everything I had..... for a moment, then I had to try to stop my mouth from burning. I just dont understand why everyone thinks that because something is smoked it has to be spicy. How can people enjoy the subtle and complex flavours added to food by the smoking process when their whole mouth is burning?

From Syracuse and came into town to visit for the weekend. Have been here before and had a decent experience. Today was completely different. Food was a rush job as the ribs were not the typical dinosaur style and were tough and chewy after not having any ribs or wings available. Secondly the server forgot peoples orders numerous times and even forgot to take the orders of one of technology groups. When it came time to pay she never even asked if the bill for 6 people was together or seperate and proceeded to make us split the check using a pen rather than doing her job. Once the bills were split and everyone was ready to pay she took another 30 minutes to cash everyone out. Band was not very good either but extremely loud to the point you couldnt talk with the person next to you without yelling.

5 years ago I was introduced to Dinosaur BBQ sauce Wango Tango. Ive been having it shipped to Idaho ever since. Todays visit was my first experience with the actual restaurant. The anticipation was worth the wait! Ive had bbq and smoked food in all sorts of places around the US and this place served me the best pulled pork and brisket I have ever had. The only ribs Ive enjoyed more were from Fat Matts Rib Shack in New Orleans, Louisiana. Service was also great - our waitress was very friendly and the food came out quite quickly. For sides were ordered mac n cheese, slaw, and potato salad. The mac was dang good and the others were tasty but standard. Cant wait until Im back on NY. Until then, I am taking home several bottles of my favorite, Wango Tango!
