Came here not too long ago. They wait for food was 20+ minutes. When the waitress bought it to our table it was cold... I asked if I could exchange one of my sides, because Im allergic to one of the ingredients and she told me to "Just try it! Youll like it!" And she walked away. Our drinks were never refilled... I asked for a condiment 4 times, before she bought it to our table and slung it down. My friend and I decided to leave at this point. My friend wanted a to go box, she asked for it and the check... the waitress didnt bring us the box. We got our own to go box... when I looked at the check we were charged extra for the condiment I asked for. When I asked about it, she told me theres nothing she can do... I didnt know it costed extra, because she didnt tell me. And she stomped off and came back with her wallet and a quarter... she slapped the quarter on the table and said "There, I paid for it." I didnt really mind that it costed extra... I just wanted to know why, and why she didnt tell me. Its decent food, but I wont be going back because of this. I found out later that our waitress that night is one of the managers... I think they should reconsider management staff as well.

I went with my parents and three siblings on the first night of our vacation to Oak Island. A casual place where you seat yourself, the decor is fitting but not beautiful. They had a couple bottled beers, but not a huge selection. The service was very friendly and fairly quick. My brother and dad split the largest combo platter, and there was more food than they could eat. I got a large plate of the bbq pork, which was a good sized portion (just the right amount for me). It was excellent barbecue -- tough to imagine it could have been much better. The value of food was also excellent (about $18 a person with drinks, tax and tip). Id definitely come back the next time Im in the area.

Went there because I love BBQ. Got the platter with Ribs, chicken fingers and pulled pork. Came with fries/hushpuppies/corn. but you got to pick your sides. Ribs were fantastic, chicken fingers were...chicken fingers, cant go wrong, pulled pork was good but a tad cold. They have 5 different sauces you can try and the ones I tried were great. Ive never had hushpuppies before but I REALLY liked them. If I went there again, which I probably will because it is closeby, I would get a full rack of ribs as opposed to trying a bit of everything. Also, staff was incredibly friendly and service was overall fantastic.

Really good food. I went with three other people and we all got the pulled pork plate (medium, the large was way too much food). The sides we got were the sweet potato fries, fried corn on the cob, baked beans, and Brunswick stew. All were very tasty. That being said, the food should only be part of the reason you go there; the REAL reason you go there is for the impeccable service. Our waitress was super-friendly, kept all of our drinks filled, and checked on us regularly. All the other staff had great attitudes, as well, which makes me think they enjoy working there. Highly recommended.

I love this place. Great barbecue. Several different sauces to choose from. The sauces are left on each table making it easy to try as many ad you like. My family and I usually eat barbecue or ribs. The meats are cooked to perfection. Its juicy, not tough or chewy. Its on the list of restaurants we eat at each year while on vacation. We have never been disappointed. Seating for large groups is not available. Dont be surprised if there is a wait because the BBC House doesnt seat a lot of people. But be patient, because its well worth the wait.

My Wife and I love this place when we come down to our beach house but there is one item that I am very disappointed in which is their Mac N Cheese. I have eaten Velveeta Mac N Cheese that tasted better than theirs. They say they bake it fresh daily and add cheese on top but that can not be true because I have eaten many Mac N Cheese dishes with the right cheeses so I think they need to work on that item and it will really set them aside from any competition. Nothing better than ribs and Mac N Cheese but not currently at this place.

The bbq here is solid. Served w/out sauce and pick which works for you (eastern if youre correct or whatever other incorrect choice you want to make). The Hushpuppies are great - hot and fluffy. I always succumb to the honey butter stuff even though its just margarine, its still good. The sweet potato fries are one of my favorites - crispy outsides and soft insides. They do them very well where other places seem to struggle with them. The mac & cheese is also consistently stick to your ribs yummy but very heavy on top of the rest.

Absolutely awesome cue! I got the half-rack rib platter and it was excellent. The meat was practically faling off the bone but so, so good! Theybhave a great selection of sides, too. Parkin is OK but could get a little tight when busy. The restaurant has plenty of booth style seating however so sitting in shouldnt be an issue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered two dinner plates to go and they had it ready for us in less than 10 minutes. A must stop for barbeque lovers when in Oak Island!

Food is good but they shafted us on food. Plus the older lady with grey hair that tells everyone to have a blessed day was very rude. Threw her hands up when my brother had a mouthful of food and couldnt tell her what kind of drink he had. She didnt ask in the first place. Then when we walked to the counter to pay since the waitress walked up to our table 3 times and walked away without saying anything to us or taking the money, the same lady with grey hair got an attitude when we asked for 2 fives back.

We had them cater our wedding reception. First, every time me or my family has eaten at the restaurant it has been exceptional. But the catering leaves some to be desired. Our pulled pork and fried chicken were cold, two extra sides we ordered didnt make it, and all they did to set up was pile containers on a table. They caught me outside before I could inspect everything asking for money and in the rush I paid them so I guess it is partially my fault but I did expect better out of them.

As always, the food is AMAZING. Always on point and the price tag is shockingly cheap. BUT, the owner/manager should probably tell the older male waiter that he should keep the details of his pot smoking and bong ripping to himself AND that he should not hit on significantly younger female patrons while their girlfriend is within earshot at the very least. At best, dont do it at all; shes like 25 years your junior and thats extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.

I am very impressed. The good reviews made it back to me in Ohio. So when I was down for my wedding I had to try it. I have to say I am not much of a BBQ lover so I wasnt all that stoked about eating there, but WOW the food blew me away! Everything was amazing. My 7 year old couldnt get enough of the green beans haha! We had the feast deal and it went a long way fed 4 (3 adults one child) and there was still food left!
