NOT WORTH THE PRICE. It was two adults and a five year old and we got there almost ten minutes before the lunch changed to dinner prices, but still they charged us for dinner. It was $37.82 , which was ridiculous because they had so much American food on there buffet, I dont know why it was even called a Chinese restaurant other than the sushi and hibachi station. They had three different kinds of breads, chicken wings, French fries, lets just say that an entire buffet was ALL American food with the exception of maybe three things and that was the rice, egg rolls and spring rolls. Also, what kind of Chinese place does not have sweet carrots...apparently this one. I am from North Carolina and live in a very small town that only has two Chinese restaurants but even they have sweet carrots on there buffet. This place just seemed like a waste to me unless you were just going there strictly to get sushi since it was all you can eat or maybe make your own hibachi plate. If you do decide to go here I would make sure to go during lunch first to test it out because even then it is over $9 a plate without a drink. If I ever decide to go back to Myrtle Beach, this is definitely a place that I am crossing off the list and making sure that I do NOT re visit ever again. I just had better expectations for this place, especially after reading all the reviews and seeing that it was rated so high. I just wanted something better than what I could get back home where I live, but after eating at Osaka I will gladly go here and only play $7.95 a person and actually get every buffet filled with Chinese food and definitely better than this was with the exception of the sushi. Basically, if you are not looking to get sushi then find a better place.. I am sure any other place you go to would have to be better than here or at least have more "Chinese" food on its buffet than here.

The food is terrible! Nothing taste like it should and it was all cold (except what was suppose to be cold aka the sushi which was awful and you can get better sushi at the gas station!) Took my teenage daughter and her boyfriend and my 3 yr old son. My 3yr old pushed his plate away and said very loudly this is super way gross! After a couple bites (of different foods) we all lost our appetite and was grossed out!...the place is ran down and filthy (which should have gave us a clue to leave before drinks even came), the bathroom looked like someone just went in there and tpd the place. Our waiter was at our table and another waiter came up to him and stuck his hand in our waiters apron pocket and clearly grabbed his man business! Talked to the manager and he responds its a buffet we dont guarantee you will like the food. Ummmm what?!? I understand but can you guarantee at least that the food is edible? Other people around us was complaining to waitress and sent the waitress away with a heaping plates of food. How has this place not been shut down? They had one ice cream scoop for 6 or 8 different flavors. They had 3 tongs for all the different sushis and the sushi was not cold. I normally dont write reviews but if this stops one person from wasting their hard earned money there then its worth it! We all went there hungry and all left there with a loss of appetite .

"A manager at Osaka Buffet also said the name white tuna is more recognizable, but she said she’ll discuss adding Escolar to the label on the buffet." Recently discovered to have been selling a different fish than what is labeled but they were very honest about the reason, white tuna is often put in for the word Escolar because people have no clue what the hell Escolar is and is often referred to as White Fish or White Tuna there is only one tuna that can be considered white and thats Albacore. In a normal sushi istablishment this would cause issue because the price of your sushi would be dependent on its name not what they paid. However Osaka doesnt make you pay based on the sushi you eat. Ive traveled the USA and I love this place for cheap sushi. The men in the back have worked in fine sushi establishments in the area and know what theyre doing.

I stop by pretty regularly, as Im a local. I typically get my food to-go, but in the past Ive gone with friends and family to dine-in. Ive been eating at Osaka since a few weeks after they opened, several years ago. I dont recall having bad service, but I do recall having servers with poor English who are very abrupt and dont visit as often as most restaurants. I was told by my Asian aunt this is typical in their culture, because theyre interrupting your meal and it is considered rude. The sushi bar is always fresh and, although they dont have a massive super selection, they typically have at least a dozen choices, or more on busy weekends. My favorite items are the green beans (which are always perfectly crisp-tender & never over-seasoned), the coconut shrimp, and I actually prefer their hot & sour soup to P. F. Changs.

The food was decent, but most of the food had seemed as if its been sitting there too long. the people were nice, but one waitress in particular was Very Rude. None in which spoke good English to at least ask us simple questions. Our time eating there was fine. We were a very big group attending an event for the weekend. It is to be expected that someone will forget their receipt. We went up front to get the receipt so we could pay and The same rude waitress came up to us and said , "your receipt" and then tossed it at us, as we watched it hit the floor. She then sped away and the service given to us politely in the beginning had changed our perception of the place. I will definitely NOT recommend this place. The waitresses and waiters obviously dont have respect for their paying customers.

Oh my goodness, prob the best decision we made food-wise on our trip this time! We wanted buffet style for a late dinner with 2 tired and surnburned kids, and we didnt want to wait on our food to be prepared! This buffet was FANTASTIC and SUCH A GREAT VALUE at $12.50/adult, less for kids, depending on age. They even have a "build your own" bar w noodles, protein selection (steak, shrimp, chicken) and plenty of fresh veg that you make on a plate raw and the Hibachi chef will fry it up for you! The sushi selection was GREAT and so fresh and cold. They even had an ice cream cooler that you scoop yourself with 6 flavors, including mint choc chip and cookies & cream. Service was great and super efficient. Next time you want a quick meal near Myrtle Beach, this is THE SPOT!

After reading the reviews my wife and I decided to eat here to get our chinese fix at the beach. While the food was good, it was par for the course and we expected a little more bang for the buck. All items at the buffet were well stocked and fresh. The sushi was good, but seemed to lack all veggie rolls (a whopping total of 1). The crab rangoons were 5 star stellar while the General Tsos was rather bland. We had to ask for refills and when we were seated, no silverware was put on our table and I had to go and ask for silverware from someone who had no idea what I was asking for. I am sure that we can find another chinese buffet to try, since we wont be going back here the next time we are at the beach.
