The food was okay, but extremely overpriced. Other Thai restaurants offer much more authentic and tasty cuisine for a lot less. The soft drinks are served in cans, so there are no free refills. The service is simply some of the worst I have ever seen. There were no area-specific waiters/waitresses so you have to flag down one of the staff members any time you want anything. Most of the four people that worked there sat behind the cash register and socialized or simply loafed back there rather than going around and checking on people. Even when they did make rounds, staff members did not bother to act. It seemed they only wanted to make their presence known without actually serving customers. Also, the waiter failed to take our drink orders before dinner. The only time we received prompt and courteous service was when we asked for the bill. Overall, the place either suffered from massive incompetence or apathy. Either way, the service was quite simply horrible and the prices are much too steep for a mid-level restaurant especially with poor staff members. Best to avoid the place in favor of Monsoon, or Viet-Thai Noodle House across from the Lowes off of Pineville-Matthews Road. Both have the same or better quality food at much more reasonable prices and both have efficient, polite staffs.

DO NOT EAT here!!! We ordered last night. My boyfriend hadnt eatin since lunch around noon. He got home late and we went to pick up the food around 8pm. He got the number 20 with seafood. About an hour later he spent the entire night throwing up and having diarrhea. I called first thing in the morning to warn them and the manager was EXTREMELY rude. Didnt care and kept saying "well what can I do about it" I told him he probably should not sell that batch of soup and at least refund that meal. He would not do anything and said there is no way of knowing it was from his food. So disappointed, what awful service.

I ate here one lunch time with a would of coworkers. The restaurant is somewhat buried inside a small shopping plaza and I would have never had found this place if they hadnt have taken me. The restaurant itself kind of reminded of someones living room with a side nook posing as a sun room and had an interesting 60s feel --though it did seem clean(ish). I order their chicken Pad Thai which I thought was great. It was served very hot and had a good taste to it. The lunch was quite inexpensive, too. If Im ever in the mood this is kind of food, Id certainly go back here again --if I could find it.

We decided to give Thai Orchid a try after reading many good things about it. We absolutely agree, this is a wonderful place to get the best Thai food in Charlotte. It was very neat and tidy, nicely decorated, and comfortable. It is a place you can actually enjoy a good meal and hold a conversation you can hear for change. The food was fantastic (try the stuffed boneless chicken wings... you will be as stuffed and happy as they are, just delicious). The green curry was equally as good. The staff and owners are so nice to talk with too. We will definitely be coming back!

Ordered a pickup order....it was ready very quickly. I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice thai hot and mentioned multiple times that I like my thai food spicy. The food was bland at best and I dont think they added any spices to the plate. I eat Thai food regularly and get it at least once a week when I travel. This was not even close to good thai food. If I wasnt 20 mins away I would have taken it back and asked for a refund.

Took my mother to dinner while she was in town. The food was ok - only three shrimp in the pad thai, but more chicken. My mother was unhappy with her soup because it was supposed to have shimp, but it had none. She had her take it back, and got an attitude from the server. They brought her soup back with one shrimp in it. Not thrilled with the experience. Also had a salad from here in the past, and it was not tasty.

Sad and awkward experience. The Duck Curry I ordered had very little curry taste and they tried to fix it but it still tasted "meh". The waiter and the manager were both unprofessional. We didnt get a goodbye or thank you for coming, they just left us at our table without acknowledging we had a sub-par dinner and service. Please dont waste your money, there are much better Thai restaurants around.

My wife and I have dined at every thai restaurant in charlotte. Basil Thai is for suckers that have no clue what real thai food is. This is by far the very best. The restaurant provides a more upscale feel without the price tag. The food is fantastic and the service OMG it can not be matched. We are very picky about our thai food. Believe me no other thai restaurant in town touches this place.

Its a shame that his one treats their customers is so sorely lacking when the food is so darn good! We were informed that they were closing in 15 minutes for their afternoon break the second we walked in. Didnt even know they closed in the afternoon. They made us feel like we were supposed to turn around and leave. Who does that?

We were seated and ignored for 15 minutes, had 3 waiters walk right past us and not even say we will be with you soon or anything like that. When we got up to walk away, walked right past the manager and he didnt even bother to ask why we were leaving... I guess they dont care. Next time Ill stick to going to Basil Thai instead.

Reviewing for my fiance and myself; she found the chicken fried rice to be bland as a piece of paper; she drowned it in three rounds of soy sauce and still found it flavorless. She is not much of a lover of Thai food though. The fresh rolls could have been better, but the green curry was DEFINITELY ON POINT.

Small restaurant with a quaint and nice atmosphere. The real rating would be a 2.5. The Mee Krob was not good and neither was the Pad Thai. Red Curry was good. Sodas in cans? Service was okay. Overall just okay. Prices were not bad, but considering the quality of the food it was overpriced. Service was okay.

I made a very large order for work 15-20 min before they closed, and they still took the order and delivered it in reasonable timing. I am very impressed with the food and the customer service.

My wife and I love going to Thai Orchid. The owner is very kind, and the food is great. We usually get the Pad Thai and Red Curry and they are both top notch. High recommend this restaurant!

Very rude service. Previous owner was awesome and friendly. New owners will run this business to the ground. We ordered the fried rice and could not eat it. It tasted horrible.

Great Thai option in Charlotte. They have an intensely powerful wok installed in the kitchen which gives the dishes an unmistakable smoky, charred flavor that is amazing!

A staple of my life. The food is fantastic. I especially like the Pad Thai. Its an intimate restaurant, and you get to know the staff after a while. I like it a lot.
