I stumbled into Kabuki Restaurant and Lounge with 2 of my friends expecting it to be much like the previous Chinese restaurant that was there. We would have been perfectly content with fried rice and a chicken dish. To our surprise, the large, dark wood doors was more than an entrance to a restaurant, it was a gateway to a Japaneses fusion dining experience. We were greeted very politely by well dressed hosts. Upon the entrance, a quick turn of the head to the left exposed the fabulous modern bar and lounge facility and dead ahead was the sushi bar, Filled with a wide assortment of fresh seafood being prepared and rolled by professional sushi chefs. The hostess then brought us to the right side of the restaurant and seated us in a half circle booth against the wall. It had enough privacy but plenty of open space to enjoy and soak in the wonderful atmosphere. With a huge selection of fine foods to choose from and prices to fit a moderate budget to a hefty spender, we knew something on there was perfect for our tastes. The meals ordered ended up being rock shrimp tempura, salmon sushi, and five spice chicken. All of which were delectable and the time and creativity spent could almost be tasted. The presentation is excellent and our waiter knew exactly what everything on the menu was and could explain in great detail and describe the taste of the menu items. As soon as we got our food we knew already we were coming back another time to try some more food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a night out with friends, a date, or a special family gathering.

In an empty restaurant we waited 5+ minutes to be greeted at our table. Service was very, very slow. Duck rolls were good but dim sum was barely average, below what I would expect at this type of restaurant. One person ordered a dish of low mien and a dish of fried rice. The other two people ordered land and sea (you are not allowed to request a meat temp). Fried rice came microwave super hot. 2 mins later, low mien came. Also microwave super hot. 5-8 minutes later the land and sea dishes came. Steak and lobster were barely room temp and the veg were stone cold. Lobster was overcooked and completely flavorless. Steak was quite good although I would have preferred med rare to well done. Management was notified about the lobster and their response was " How can that be?" I said " I dont know but it is not edible" Long stare from management who then just walked away. Eventually we were offered ONE dessert to cover for 2 $34 bad dinners! The "free" tiramisu was still frozen in the middle. Then they had the nerve to add 18%(which they calculated wrong!) to a table of 3! Covering on booths is ripped and the lights are covered in dust. Big booth had a small table. Please notice all the other reviews are old. This WAS a great a restaurant in the past.

Totally dig Kabuki! When I get a hankering for some sushi in my neck of the woods I make my way to Kabuki. Located in the heart of Wakefield, this classy establishment offers a selection of tantalizing Asian inspired offerings. Kabuki is not a one-trick pony or your typical greasy Chinese takeout found on every street corner in New England. With offerings that span a wide variety of Asian cultures all on one menu, the whole family or gathering of friends is sure to find something to write home about. All that aside, I find that I keep going back for the lovely Sushi rolls. My current faves found under Signature Rolls include the oversized "Angry Dragon", the well versified "Out of Control", & the attractive "Valentine Roll." I have had such great luck every-time that I have eaten here that I would imagine the whole menu is just as good. Kabuki is definitely a favorite haunt of locals, tourists, & the college set on weekends & is a nice break from the burger bustle that consumes most of the eateries in the nearby area. Stop by & tell them that Scotty sent ya!

Im from the West coast and have been very spoiled when it comes to sushi. I have always had a hard time finding decent sushi out East unless you are in a city. Kabuki was a pleasant surprise, the rolls are unique and you can find something for every taste. They do a great job on their presentation and everything tastes as good as it looks. You can go during happy hour and they offer smaller portions of their rolls and apps for 4$ and $6... two can easily dine and drink for $20 or $30 during happy hour. If you are in South County this is the sushi spot to go to for sure, amazing food and ambiance.

We were there with a large group of people and ordered a lot of food, especially sushi, one of the people we were with requested a condiment (Mayonnaise to mix with the soy sauce) for the sushi, later we found out that they charged us money for the condiment. The food was good but the service was lacking and there was no effort by service staff or management to go above and beyond to keep the patrons happy. We now happily go to Markos when were in the area.

Food was very well prepared, great selections. Ate at bar with friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. One of my favorite newly discovered restaurants. Seating in bar area has cozy tables, good for date night. Nicely appointed dining area and sushi bar. Cant wait to go back.

Wait staff remember my order and knew my name after the second time I went there. The sushi is great and they give you a reward card. When you spend $20, you get a stamp and after a few stamps you get a kabuki gift card. Modern interior and clean, delicious food.
