Sitting in the train car (try to sit there, the rest of the restaurant is just ehhh) is like riding the rails between Madras and Delhi, except without the flies. The environment there was cozy & warm, and the food was according to my wife "the perfect combination of spice and uncommon food (for us)." The service here is always friendly and attentive. Yesterday we decided to try something different than Chinese for Christmas dinner, so decided to go here, and they had a buffet set up. Great idea, since it was moderately crowded, and with 4 adults & 4 kids we didnt want to wait too long. The buffet had a nice range of things, from fried "veg apps" which unfortunately were oily to my taste, to a number of much better main courses... including chicken, seafood, vegetables... curries & sauces... even dessert. Their food is always good, but it was particularly nice to sample many different things from the buffet. We like taking our kids here because to my son anything that isnt a burger with lettuce & tomato (only!) is a problem... and he INHALES the food here, particularly the naan and the chicken tikka masala, which is delicious but not spicy (hot). The temperature scale runs the gamut from mild to brutal, and they can customize entrees to your liking. Rated it 4 starts instead of 5 because of the atmosphere on your way to the rail car (as someone else pointed out, you walk past the Days Inn laundry room to get up the front steps) but the food never disappoints. An Indian graduate student friend claimed that she and her friends have visited almost all the Indian restaurants between Scranton and Delaware, and they liked this one the best. Most definitely worth the trip, and quite reasonable prices ($15.95 plus tax & tip for the buffet).

Most pathetic Indian Restaurant. I believe menu shown on the website is just to attract customers to the restaurant as there was no a la carte available for dinner. There was only buffet for the dinner also and managers were very ignorant and unapologetic. We went there for dinner just because we saw a very decent menu on restaurant website. While going on our way to sit we saw buffet but it was not looking fresh at all. So we sat and were waiting for server to give us menu. One manager kind of guy (with bluetooth headset) came so we asked him for menu, he said buffet is on and a la carte would take long time. We asked how much time so he replied with 45 minutes. We were ok with the time as we were not in rush so we said thats fine. He just went away from there so we thought he went to get the menus but he never returned to us. After that another manager kind of guy (with black coat) came and asked that why we didnt go for buffet so we told that we wanted to order a la carte. He said there is no a la carte, only buffet. We said but the other guy told there is a la carte and it will take time. So he said ok let me check with him. He also went away and never returned. Then a waiter came said to us there is only buffet. So we decided to leave as we didnt want to eat not fresh looking buffet. While walking out both the manager kind of guys were looking at us but didnt say a word. So ridiculous. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The one star is because there is no option for negative rating.

I did takeout here on a few days ago since I was travelling between Canada and NY. Took advantage of the Lunch Buffet for $15 dollars. Service was quite nice in preparing a takeout tray for me. They also give a fresh piece of naan and two plastic containers for cold things off the buffet, like chutneys etc. Im not Indian. Im a chef, so I expand my borders a lot. I eat at random Indian places from time to time and the food off the buffet was great. Honestly, I took a little bit of everything and everything was delicious. Goat Curry is tender and well cooked, with a little bit of gaminess to remind you its really goat. I regret not getting more of their Chicken Tandoori. Star of the show. Naan was pretty good. Light, fresh, and fluffly. First thing that came to mind was buttered popcorn, so a warning to my vegan friends to ask for oil instead of butter for their naan. Reminder that this was for the buffet only, not a la carte, but if the quality of the buffet is anything to go off of, the food should be just fine. I also skipped out on their desserts since I was in a rush, so I dont have anything to say about it.

The food is decent, certainly the best Indian youre going to find in the Camelback ski area. The service isnt bad - its almost always attentive and the meal sizes are enough that only the hungriest of patrons wont have leftovers to take home. But the atmosphere is a bit unusual. The entrance to the restaurant is on the second floor over the nearby hotels laundry room, and the vestibule and big dining room look like they havent been updated since 1984. Really. But if you pass through the big dining room into the train car, you get a different vibe. Here it looks like the last update was in 1974. But thats good thing, because you really can imagine it being a drain dining car that went out of commission in 1974 and was parked here on the hill. Nothing is grungy or anything, just a bit old-style and tattered. You can imagine yourself (and your special someone across the table) on an old train crossing the Indian countryside. Youre going to have to use your imagination a bit to really get the most out of this place - and it really can be fun when you think of it this way.

Tasty food, BUT! Very good place for a tasty food. Ive been here twice. Veggie Biriyani is too good and absolutely tasty. Ive tried Kashmiri Pulao- it was good too, but its sweet. Not the typical veggie pulao pattern. Rest room is slightly below average. Not too clean both the times when I visited. (My second visit was not a peak hours and yet it wasnt clean). Do not go to washroom before eating food, you cant eat with happy face. Customer service is "just ok", if youre an American youll get good customer service. If Indian like me, youll get based on their mood. To get water they took 15 mins when there were more Americans, next time they were very quick as there were just one American couple in a table. Anyways, of you dont care about customer service or cleanliness of restroom, its the best place to have tasty Indian food. By the way, the exterior Train like design is very attractive and you can take very good photos there.

This is our absolute favorite Indian restaurant on the planet. We live outside NYC and have access to many Indian restaurants and have tried all of them. This place, tucked away in Tannersville, PA right off of Route 80 of all places, has the best food of all of them. We have family in Cleveland, OH and two children going to school in Ohio. We make the drive to and from Ohio many times a year and we always schedule our return journey so that we hit Tandoor Palace around suppertime. This trip we unfortunately hit traffic and were delayed. I called ahead and they agreed to put our order together and leave it at the front desk. Wonderful, awesome, amazing food. The best. Dont skip this restaurant if you are on route 80. Arrive hungry.
