I have walked past Chicken Latino literally hundreds of times. It is usually overshadowed by two of my favorite food establishments in the strip which just so happen to be directly across the street: Pamelas and Edgars taco stand. This is probably the main reason I have never been to this establishment until recently. But that all changed when my sister and her husband (who are also foodies) kept talking about this "Chicken Latino" place. They explained to me where it was and it finally hit me, its the colorful place across the street from my two favorite places to eat in the strip, no wonder I havent ever been there! They told me to get the chicken burrito and yukka fries, then to mix the green sauce with mayo and put it on everything. This is exactly what I ordered, plus plantains because who doesnt love plantains?!?! The food came out extremely fast and extremely hot. I was blown away by the size of the portions. "This cant be?" I thought to myself... this food has to be more expensive... NOPE! You get gigantic portions for extremely reasonable prices that all taste wonderful! The chicken burrito was one of the best Ive ever had. The yukka fries were so unique and tasty, they were fluffy and crunchy, salty and savory, like nothing I have ever had before! The plantains were cooked to perfection and on the sweeter side. I usually NEVER leave food on the table but this time I had to. So I boxed up the rest of my plantains and yukka fries and took them home which happened to taste even better later on! I cant believe I waited so long to go to this place! From now on Im going to have to spin in a circle in the middle of 21st street with my finger out and whichever of my 3 favorite strip districs restaurants I land on will be where I eat!

I have eaten here many times because the plantains and fried yucca are really good. Yesterday I tried the Peruvian ceviche. BIG MISTAKE! 6 hours later Incas revenge hit. It was a case of food poisoning that requires a bucket and toilet. I am convalescing today. The bill was +$18.00 for plantain and ceviche to wind up in a world of misery. I could have licked the floor at the butcher shop around the corner and been no worse off. Was the dish poorly refrigerated or had the talapia and shrimp gone bad before being marinated? Perhaps someone said, "I will wash my hands later". Gee I guess I got to experience the joys of visiting the third world without leaving Pittsburgh.

Got chicken, rice, beans and fried plantains from Chicken Latino last night and was happy as can be. I almost went crazy on the ride home from the delicious smell of the chicken wafting through my car. The chicken was amazing, perfectly spiced and tender as can be. The skin was nice and crispy too! The beans are very runny, but they work perfectly if you spoon them right onto your rice. Right up there with the chicken were the fried plantains, they were sweet and soft and had a really nice stickyness about them....YUM!!!! I plan to return often and hope you will give them a try.

My roommate and I live nearby and treat ourselves to a pair of chicken quesadillas about once each month. Shelbin, the owner, runs a very professional establishment, and her staff is very conscientious and detail-oriented. The chicken is deliciously seasoned, and the quesadillas always have the correct ratio of cheese, beans, rice, and meat. The spicy green sauce adds a wonderful kick, too! Weve never had a bad meal from Chicken Latino!

Great place for a family! Served quickly, delicious food, awesome price and wonderful service! Love their hot green sauce, on the table, as well as their marinated meats! So delicious, EVERYTHING! If you want authentic food please dont hesitate to go here! You wont be disappointed! (We have been getting the whole chicken with two sides and 3 orders of flour tortillas but have tried most of the menu, this just works best for our family)

I work in the Strip District and eat at Chicken Latino probably once a week. I always get the same thing, 1/4 chicken, rice and black beans. The rice and black beans are just what youd expect... not much to say about them. However the chicken is delicious. The spices are wonderful and the meat is never dry, always juicy and practically falls off the bone. Its about 7 bucks for the combo, not including a drink but well worth it.

Excellent food, casual, and family friendly. We love taking the kids on the weekend, and the kids actually love the food. Comida excelente y amigable a las familias. Nuestras hijas sí comen allí!

I do think that the chicken here lives up to the acclaim. Definitely a lot more tender and less dry than a normal rotisserie chicken. We got the half and two sides, the Spanish rice and black beans. Both went well with the meal. Also ordered the jalapeno poppers separately, which were good, although a tad on the cheesy side.

Best chicken in the city, I make a point to visit every time Im in Pittsburgh. The fried plantains are amazing and the spicy green sauce is to die for. They slow cook all the chicken overnight in the traditional way so the meat is falling off the bone. The price is also reasonable for such amazing meals.

I work a lot in Florida and I love finding Peruvian places like this down there that are abundant there. This place in the Strip is finally what I been looking for up here. A good place to grab lunch, relaxed, and a very good mix of spices, chicken, rice, and a veggie to provide a tasty and healthy lunch.

Was much better last year. The fried Yuca was very good. Should serve with traditional Cuban mojo but the verde sauce was pretty good. Generous serving. Beans and rice dry. Chicken bowl was ok. I love garlic but not that much. Probably go back armed with the knowledge BYOB.

Small, clean place. Peruvian based menu, mostly chicken, hence the name. Reasonably-priced and food was fantastic, great portion size. If youre looking to expand your list of restaurants to frequent, I definitely recommend this place. 8/10, would eat here again.

Ive eaten here upwards of two dozen times since moving to the 412. I like the soft burrito or the half chicken. You cant go wrong as you experience their rotisserie chicken in one form or another, but... Get. Yuca. Fries. With green sauce and mayonnaise. Do it.

The chicken was delicious and worth the walk but the hours of operation on google maps said they closed at 8pm on Mondays, when I got there the cashier said they were only open until 4pm and I had six minutes to eat my food before they kick me out.

Really good chicken. Get the half roasted chicken when you go. The green sauce is really good also. Rice and beans could use a little more flavor but its a 5 star restaurant especially for the price.

One of many great restaurants in the strip. The service is outstanding. The food is terrific. Ive tried the quarter chicken and burrito and loved them both. Very friendly staff, highly recommended.

Chicken is really good. So is the pork. Cevice is awesome, weekends only I think. Get horchata or fruit drinks. Yucca fries are a bit dry. Try the sauces they serve with the food.
