Well, I went back for sure, and this time was a bit disappointed in the attitude of the staff. When I came in I immediately felt the disapproving eyes of servers who were wary of me. As Ive often pointed out this usually comes from how I appear (casually dressed) or from the fact that they dont want to serve a table of one. I was seated upstairs and a blonde waitress with glasses passed me by numerous times before finally saying "Ill be right with you!" It was obviously her section, but then a male waiter who seemed to keep coming upstairs from down in his own section for no reason but to wait on *me* served me for the remainder of the night. However even though he did, she kept stopping to inquire about how things were going, to the point where both of them were doing it and it got kind of annoying. At one point he set down my entree and no more than twenty seconds after he walked away she appeared: "How is everything so far?" "Uh, he *just* set it down..." I replied. The bottom line was that her section was not that busy really, so I get the impression that she didnt want to be bothered to deal with a one-top. Kind of insulting.

My wife and I went to the Caribou Cafe for a meal before the theater. We were a bit short of time, so we told our server that wed like to order right away. Unfortunately, she was preoccupied with a big party at another table. Not her fault. Fortunately, the owner of the place observed the situation and stepped right in, he took our drink order and brought us the drinks, then he took our food order, then apologized for being out of one of our choices and suggested another. He good not have been more gracious and helpful. The food was excellent, the ambiance was excellent and I appreciated the great attitude of the owner and his staff. I am looking forward to going back when we have some more time to dine. Merci Caribou Cafe!

This was my second time there and what a difference from our first experience! I dont know if the chef changed but our first time there it was a fabulous meal. The second time our main entrees were terribly prepared. The salad was terribly wilted, my friends burger was ordered medium and looked like a burnt hockey puck and my sandwich wasnt even toasted. The bread was so soggy like they had just nuked it in the microwave. For the money we spent, we could have went to Moriaritys next door and had a really great meal. The one good thing was our waiter...he was great. BRING BACK THE OLD CHEF!!!!

You have been chopped! Your favorite french cut of meat entree was overcooked and tasted like a $22 cheesesteak with store bought fries. Why wouldnt you serve pomme frittes? This was my birthday dinner & then off to the forrest theatre thank god they had M&Ms to satisfy my hunger. The Mgr took off my wine to compensate for the entree but the damage was already done. I will definitely not recommend nor will I ever return.

This is a quiet French bar on a Friday night after dinner. If you intend to do jagerbombs and grab some wings, you will NOT like it. This is a place for a glass of wine and a mixed drink. Prices are bit higher than they should be ($8 for house white?) and Manhattan was too strong, perhaps due to inexperienced bartender. Combined with the atmosphere, I say its a perfect spot to relax downtown with a couple martinis.

Worst place Ive been to in a while food wise... Decor, waiting staff, music, atmosphere are ok, but the food... Who cooked that??? Tried some appetizers - not eatable!!! Artichoke tart or smth - unbelievably heavy, greezy, saulty... portfolios are super small... and the prices are on a very high $$$$... Do not recomment under any conditions - go somewhere else!!!

We enjoyed a wonderful pre theatre dinner for a party of four. Three of us had the seafood crepes with salad, Incredible!!! The other diner had the chicken on a baguette and also true French Fries. She said they were the best fries she has ever experienced. The service was great. We shall return. Special place and a break from the norm!

They didnt have our reservation. Then the chicken entree we ordered was raw and the steak entree was overcooked. They offered to take the chicken off of the bill, but didnt and instead gave us a free dessert. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. We would not return and would definitely not recommend to a friend.

This place was chosen at the meeting spot myself and some friends. The table on the sidewalk with the just comfortable temperature out (this was towards the end of Sept). The space did feel a little tight but it wasnt uncomfortable. The drinks were great - creative use of the various flavors.

An excellent place. You can have a quiet romantic dinner or casual evening at the bar. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is warm and friendly, and the menu varies from small tasting plates and cocktails to a full range of amazing entrée. This is THE best French Bistro in the city.

Excellent restaurant all around. Decor is sophisticated and tasteful. The food is delicious and what you would expect from a French restaurant. The Steak Roquefort is wonderful, as is the Onion Soup and the Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Would love to go again!

Tried this place completely on a whim to get out of the cold. Food is great, our waiter was really friendly. Price point is a little high but... If you want to treat yourself to a good dish its worth it. My steak was 100% perfect!

Caribou is without doubt one of the nicest bistros in Philadelphia. It offers dishes from the 15 regions of France and I simply die for their salade Nicoise! Definitely recommend it, give it a try!

I had the steak frite with a nice French beer. Cool interior- oldie timey Frenchy. Very friendly and helpful waitress. Tastey food. Fun to watch the people walk by and listen to the locals inside.

the most authentic french bistro in philly. excellent wine selections - by the glass and bottle. the fare is done consistently well though they could vary the menu a bit more often.

I had the skate with fingerling potatoes and hericot vert. It was great. Onion tart to start was good too, but I have had better. Wait staff was terrific, very helpful and friendly.

Came in on a Wednesday and it wasnt even that busy. Possibly understaffed? Sat down and waited 15 minutes and no one came to even bring us water. So we left.
