This one star in no way reflects the food or the service... it reflects the management. I have supervised and ran two different restaurants and I would never have as many people on the floor as they do. I was in on a slow Tuesday night, there were a few tables and about 8 or 9 servers on. That is ridiculous! I imagine their turnover is pretty high. Between these servers getting a few tables per section they also only get sat every 8-9 customers that come in. With as few people that I saw in the booths I cant imagine my server, a lovely and very professional woman named Krista, had had that many tables that night. I felt really bad for her and gave her a $10 tip for my cheap breakfast food. Again the food isnt bad... its diner food, not much to screw up. But come on, why would you have your servers dress up in a diner? Who are you trying to fool? And why would you have that many servers on at once when it is dead? To the managers: Learn how to run a restaurant. The more money your servers make the happier they will be and the better service they will provide. Hire who you want, but make sure they can do the job. Dont put the girl that cant handle a large section in the large section. And if your servers are bad get rid of them based on poor performance and let the good ones stay and make money. Let them wear what every other diner in the area wears, T-Shirts. When people are uncomfortable, especially when they have nothing to do but sit around and think about it, they are less productive. Plus... pure white, button down, collared tux shirts? Come on... one stain and they look sloppy. To anyone dining here: TIP YOUR SERVERS!!! Would you go in to work for $2.83/hr + tips when you only get a few tables a night because here are 8 other people you have to rotate with? I wouldnt! I tipped almost as much as my food was worth because I felt bad. Krista was an excellent server, always made sure I had coffee, made sure my table was cleared of anything I was done with but didnt bother me with little things in the middle of my meal. These servers make their living off of their tips and tips should be 20% of your bill. If you complain about the food thats fine but your server did not make your food. If your server did an excellent job then tip her accordingly. Do not take out your displeasure with the food on them.

Stopped in for a late night dinner. The diner was busy as a concert that apparently let out had dragged in a late night rush. There was one waitress and a manager. The manager brought us our drinks. The waitress took our order and shortly after the manager brought us our food. I was in need of cocktail sauce and my boyfriend gave a plesant call to the waitress who made eye contact with him and turned as he called out. She ignores him and proceeded to bus two tables. I then grabed the waitresses attention when she shouts across the restaurant, "what do you want, i got people coming in!" I was shocked because the diner had at least 10 open tables and no one was waiting for a table. I let her know I wanted cocktail sauce. She went to the kitchen and sent out the dishwasher with the cocktail sauce. She neglected us as a customer. A few minutes later we witnessed her hand our check to the manager and point very flamboyantly to our table. Apparently my request for cocktail sauce was a reason for her to be extremely disrespectful. I have given 3 stars because the manager was great, he stepped up. I explained how we were treated and that I didnt think we should have to pay for our check. He did comp our meal. But, we opted to get out of the environment before indulging in dessert. We are heavy tippers and this is the first time in 3 years that we did not leave 1 cent. Maybe the waitress should be the dishwasher and the dishwasher a waitress.

I ordered lasagna, I received just a side salad. However I did not receive my dressing I requested and had to ask again for it after five minutes. To make matters worse 15 mins go by before Im told the chief FORGOT my lasagna was in the oven and it was burnt black. This was the last piece they had. At this point I had been there for at least half an hour so I said I was good with the small side salad and just wanted my check. My server was great and was upset with the chief as there were only 3 other people ordering so forgetting a customers food is unforgivable. What irritated me however is that I was charged for the side salad that was supposed to come with the lasagna that the chief burnt. It shouldve been comped, the waitress did give me a slice of cake on the house and again she was awesome. However when I get to the register the manager apologized for them forgetting to tell me they were out o lasagna and I let her know that was not the case your cook BURNT my food and it was the last one. And you guys were petty and charged me 1.79 for a side salad after burning my food. I kept it very professional as neither of them were the chief but needless to say I will not take my business here in the future. Chambersburg dinner is far supieror

I have come here about 10-12 times. Consistently good food. Over this past year I was having a very rough time. On late nights when I could not muster the energy to cook I would drive myself to this diner for food and to take breakfast out for the following morning. I cant stress enough how important it was to me that those waitresses were and are so kind. I usually come very late at night, and alone. Service is always fast and the food is really good. Cant beat the prices either. But you also cant beat a staff that comes to work this late and consistently is friendly and smiling even though I know its not easy to pull those shifts. Those smiles meant the world to me when I was deeply depressed. I still come at night when I cant sleep or have to be up very early because I feel comfortable here and welcomed by the staff. Thank you, Front St. Btw...only place that cooks my bacon exactly as l want. Its perfect. Try the creamed chipped beef too.

The manager is a very friendly French guy. The food was decent 7/10 not incredible but it was good. The prices were high and what you get is not very large portions aka value. I paid $8.69 for 4 pieces of bacon, one Belgian waffle and a coffee. For 8.99 at Dennys I could have a enormous slam burger with fries. Capitol diner is better but neither can beat the ol dennys slam burger. If not for the amazing manager I would have liked to rate lower, only lower because the current rating of 4.5 at the time of this review is very mis leading. In my town of Pottsville I can go to the Pottsville diner and get 3 pancakes bacon 5 slices, toast, home fries, 3 eggs, coffee for $6.99 "he man special" and besides the pancakes it tastes just as good if not better with twice the amount of food.
