First time visiting the restaurant and first time in D.C. I picked the Luna from the online reviews and they were pleasantly consistent with my experience. The food was brought out quickly, tasted great and was just the right price. I tried, also per reviews, the crab cake sandwich and was very satisfied. The french fries were also fat, crisp and delicious without being greasy. Perfect with Heinz bottle ketchup. The one and only con which, in my opinion, is minute, was the wait. The diner was bustling on a Sunday (12pm-1pm) and we waited about 15 minutes for a party of 3. We were offered a small chair-and-table-against-wall-cushion-bench pairing which is normally designed for 2 people and we accepted it. The wait was expected based upon the reviews but it worked out since a downpour just happened to sweep in. If youre looking for a good, hearty and local favorite and have about 35-45 minutes to spare for it, this is your choice. American food with guts! P.S.: No problems with the wait staff, who were courteous and helpful. They were also extremely apologetic for our wait.

The staff would not allow me to redeem my Groupon. They claimed the promotion "was no longer running" -although it was not expired and the same deal was still up available for purchase online- and tried to guilt me into paying the full price by saying the food would go to waste when I refused to pay without them applying the Groupon. It was a deal for carryout. I ordered online from their website and then arrived at the restaurant for pickup so that I would save some time, as I was working late. There was nothing in the fine print indicating that an online order was not allowed for the carryout deal. It is sad because I was looking forward to this place and the issue could have been so easily resolved with a little understanding on their part. I could have easily been a repeat customer.

This diner in the Dupont neighborhood is basically a Dennys with a few atypical items on the menu. The prices are good but the food is average, so its not a must-try in DC but a good place to stop by if youre on a budget and not looking for a fancy meal. The setting looks a little sketchy (its not exactly the cleanest looking restaurant in DC) but they go for a more hipster feel and environment. They also played really good music, which was a plus. I ordered the Monte Cristo and the Sweet potato fries. Both were decent, nothing beats Dizzleland for the French sandwich and I prefer crispy fries but I feel like my meal was worth its value around $12 or whatever it was. The service was decent. Come here only if you are craving diner food but dont want to pay unreasonable prices.

Food was not well prepared, soggy french fries and produce products were not very fresh. They did have a vegetarian offering mainly of pasta dishes. Service was poor. The space was quirky but generally in need of a renovation. The price was on the cheaper side, entrees all less than $15, but you get what you pay for. Might be a good breakfast spot, but I would skip this for dinner unless youre just looking to stop in for something quick and cheap.

45 minutes before closing on a monday night, smiling host was happy to let us pick our seat, the waitress came right, water in hand without asking. We ordered our food and drink. We were taking pictures of ourselves and the waitress offered to take pictures for us. We obliged, and then placed our order. The appetizers/ salads came quickly and were great, along with the rest of the food. A+ food and portions and a great atmosphere. Recommend going

We waited over an 1:15 minutes....for our order. The waitress and staff kept lying to us. "Its coming..in one or two minutes" Its not that the meal was late.. Instead it was the lying by your staff.. To the owner: Your staff are lying to your customers. You can not trust them to tell the truth. They are are real bad people!!!!!!!!!! So we just left ...and they still kept lying to us as we walked out the door...Its coming, its coming....

DO NOT GO! worst services, even worst mangement, and bad food! We were the only ones in the restaurant and we still had to wait excessive time to to get anything including even water. To get our food it took about an hour and then we see a cockoroach on the floor coming from the direction of the kitchen. No one apoligize and just bushed it off like it happened all the time. Would not recommend to anyone. Over priced and very bad service!

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly service. My fiancée came here and got the veggie chili cheese fries appetizer, I got the chicken fried steak, and she got the veggie lasagna. All the food was very good, and the portions were huge! As a huge extra plus, the music was cool but not too loud, the atmosphere was good for conversation. We will definitely come here again :)

We just had the best experience at this restaurant! Ranjit was our server and despite being incredibly busy he managed to deliver excellent service in a timely manner. He accommodated our needs right away with a party of 9 people. Our drinks were never dry and the food was amazing!! Thank you again for the great service! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Im sitting in the restaurant now and while the tomato soup is AMAZING I had to practically stand and walk to the bar to get someones attention. There are exactly 3 tables with people and that includes mine...but still no service and my food was like warm when it came out. I may have to rethink returning to this place.

This place is great for what it is, a small comfort food diner. I came here during the womens FIFA games and they turned it on for me. Also, since I was unsure what I wanted to drink my waitress said she would make her special Sangria for me. It was the best Sangria Ive had! Overall, it was a great first experience.

Luna is one of those places that sounds good in theory because they serve breakfast all day and offer variety for vegetarians. The food is so-so and the service is slow; worst still tables are squeezed far too close together. Not somewhere youd want to eat with any regularity (i.e. more than once a year).

Epic fail. Benedicts are only served on Friday and Saturday. The Belgian waffle tastes average... out of a box type. There is no cream served with them, and the fruit was overripe. The bacon tastes tough, like precooked bacon reheated. Keep walking by... dont waste your time or money. #epicfail

Stopped in for breakfast on Saturday morning and ordered the Salmon Benedict. The cook knows his/her stuff as the eggs were poached to perfection. The salmon was fresh and lightly smoked, the Hollandaise tasted fresh. Luna was busy and the staff was friendly, attentive and the service fast.

Ive been here several times over the last five years. Today was my last time. I love diners, and to call yourself a diner you are telling the world that your food is reliable, quick, and tastes, and your service is friendly and fast. None of those things apply here any more.
