I usually have a great dining experience here, but this last experience was the worst ever. The table that we chose to sit at had food smeared on the seats, only 1 out of 4 chairs were clean. I stood next to the table for about 5 minutes with my 2 year old sitting on the only clean seat. I even looked at the chairs at another table to switch and they were dirty too. The restaurant wasnt even busy, it was 2:40pm and just a handful of people there. I had to stop one of the servers who kept ignoring me and walk by and I asked her " hi, are you our server?" She said yes and so I showed her the chairs and asked if they can be wiped down, and then I showed her the other chairs at the next table. I said thank you and she said to me"the night shift crew is supposed to clean the chairs." I immediately thought to myself "so you dont clean the chairs after each use?" Not once did our server greet us and sign her name on our receipt, not once did she smile and ask if we need anything. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. She only came to out table twice, and the first time she came to remove our dishes was after were were there for almost an hour. I couldnt belive it!!! Thank God for at least one friendly server, he smiled and greeted us and started taking our dishes, I looked around and it looked like he was doing her job on top of his own.

Went in it was $36 dollars 2 Seniors 1 Adult. Was greeted by server Kimberly according to the receipt but she also wrote the name Cheyenne. She sat and smiled an employee approached me and said Hi I didnt respond most of them recognize me from the past for reporting the restaurant for all the insects they had and still have flying around there. I even provided photos of the employees doing things to customers food. Sadly nothing happened to those employees they still work there most belong in jail. I went for the white gravy another employee approached me with brown gravy and was pretty insistent on me having the brown gravy instead I still had the white gravy. The soft perfect looking chicken that looked like it was cooked by pro chefs couldnt be found, it seemed my father was the only one to have it. I Found a lady bug near the nacho and soup cart. I took it outside didnt want an employee to kill it. They already could see all the giant flies they had flying all over the place landing on the food. It looked like it was filled with gunk. It should have been shutdown years ago. Its still as gunky as it was when my grandparents were still alive all those years ago. I had a customer follow me out and ended up following me around a store as well.

You know, if they would just give this place regular deep cleanings it would be soooo much better. The entire place stinks of old, nasty gunk. The smell of a place that is not being cleaned properly at all. Sadly, there seems to be many restaurants here in Salem with this same issue. I have to wonder if Salems inspectors are not doing their job or if they are accepting pay offs to look the other way perhaps? Also, the bins of food were not being tended to on a constant basis. The sour cream was disgusting, full of other food being spilled into it. There were several bins of food & sauces like this not being cleaned and tended to. That, with the stench of old nasty body odors, old pieces of food ground into the carpet, I could even smell the bathroom out in the food area as it to was not being cleaned properly. Just gross & stomach turning. If they would just deep clean this place regularly and keep employees constantly cleaning and keeping the bins of food fresh it would be so wonderful! Salem just does not have any good places with good salad bars. I know I would go here more often just to have a good salad if it were cleaner!

i wanted to go to hometown buffet so bad got there and the only decent things were the taco , macaroni, pizza,,chocolate milk, icee and coffee, just about everything else tasted like leftover mcdonalds , the so called fresh stir fry was drowned in soy sauce so bad i could not even eat it , and the chicken was so dry it reminds me of microwaved french frys , over $53 for that crap even the fountain drinks tasted like propane one thing i found interesting is the guy that made my noodles kept on sniffling his nose what a waste of a dinner i am so glad i went to jack in the box a few hours earlier for my late lunch 3 hours before the power went out. and on top of it all my poor Dad couldnt even keep down the freezer burnt so called "baby back ribs" this was supped to be my moms 48th birthday Dinner but it was such a disappointment. another thing was there was smears on the lamp and cheese glass it didnt look like it has been cleaned in a while

Generally wouldnt go to a buffet by choice (except maybe Tin Tin Buffet, which is much better for a buffet) but it was a friends birthday choice. Ugh. First and last time. First of all, do you know how many people touch all those food grabber things? Im not OCD but man, a lot of them were slimy and you could practically feel the germd all over your hand. I couldnt wait to wash my hands! Secondly, the food was mostly bland and tasteless or tasted downright bad. Peach slices, no flavor. Rice, no flavor. Even the brownie had minimal flavor. The most flavor in the carrot cake (which was dry and burned on the bottom) was the icing. The cabbage was boiled in something nasty like cheap pork. The fish was tasteless. The best thing was the salad bar (other than the aforementioned slimey grabbers). Will never go back. Not that I expected cuisine but still, it was nasty.

First off, my parents had arteries in their roast beef. I wish I pulled out my PlayStation Vita to take a picture because it was so disgusting. I didnt get the roast beef because I could tell that it was gross even when there were people getting things from the carving station in front of me. Second, my father got some pepperoncini that tasted like wood. He spat it out. That is something my father NEVER does. Third, the ice cream machine gave my father swirled ice cream with the half that was vanilla being yellow and it didnt even look like ice cream. Finally, my mother got some sort of dessert that was in a bowl with a handle that was dirty. After that we just left. Im never coming here again.

If I could if I would give this place a NEGATIVE -5 star rating! The food was disgusting, tasteless and doughy and expensive. I cant believe people actually eat this garbage. The bathrooms are disgusting they looked like they had soiled toilet, they smelled like a mens urinal and there was garbage all over the floor. I would recommend if you are hungry to never eat here because this place will put you off your food forever. My advice would be to look elsewhere. Also for the record all the people rating this place five stars must have been paid off or something because theres no freaking way this place would even get one star. It is a crap hole and a half.
