There was not one good thing about this place. The peas on the salad were spoiled, the ribs were fatty and boiled and rancid, the mashed potatoes came out at room temperature and were sour, yes, SOUR, & the vegetables had a really funky taste to them. So I asked if the potatoes were made with sour cream, the answer was no. I had my boyfriends second opinion and he agreed. I asked to speak to the manager he came out and when I started to politely explain the issues he interrupted and started arguing with me in front of my children. He told me I was wrong and nothing was bad. I wasnt asking him. Shortly after leaving extremely pissed off and dissapointed I had a stomach ache..SUPRISE. Three out of four of us actually. How do these people stay in business? After I met the manager I suddenly understood why the food was so awful. And I laughed when all they offered was free pie, I wouldnt feed this stuff to my dog.

Chalet is a comfy place to eat whether youre in the mood to dine or need a quick place to eat and run. Theres a huge selection of food that changes on a monthly basis - extremely reasonable prices. Their coffee is great, their veggie soup is a yummy daily special, their strawberry blintz are fantastic and their servers are happy! Being a regular at the Chalet, we look forward to the service from Nikki (spelling?) and Kim who are quick and efficient servers. Weve never had to wait more than 15 min. for our food. The downside to Chalet of Brooks is the location (being in Brooks and not directly in a larger town) and there have been some horrible hostesses who have had lackluster personalities. However, once seated, the actual servers and owner/managers are friendly and seem to appreciate our business! Give it a try...there are like 30 different pies to try every day!!!

Hostile Employee! Upon parking my pickup and trailer a man started yelling from his vehicle at me that I couldnt park where I had. He got out of his vehicle and walked halfway across the parking lot yelling at me that his boss told him to "Not let anyone park there" (where I had parked). No alternative parking spots were offered, and the only way it was apparent that this man was an employee was his white service shirt (no name tag). I wasnt sure if this man was a legitimate employee, and if he was he certainly acted aggressively. Becoming concerned for my 11 year old sons personal safety as well as my own, I left the location, not likely to return anytime soon, if ever! If this is how customers are treated I have no sympathy if they go out of business.

We were regulars for two years we will not go back! We waited 20 min to order watching people that came in after us get served. While we waited went to use restroom completely lost my appetite no way they been cleaned for at least a week the stench of urine was overwhelming . We ordered anyways. My wife ordered eggs over easy they came scrambled. My traditional breakfast was lacking bacon and sausage two eggs was maybe one.. As we leave we notice only one waitress instead of two and also new cooks the food completely changed paprika on country gravy ? Waitress was rude.. probably because she had no help customers were getting up to ask for things like boxes and rags to clean up spills. My first review I ever left Im sorry we will not come back!

That was nasty. I had the ribs and they were boiled at some point with either very little to no seasoning they bbq sauce tasted lik it came from a kraft bottle but they added a few seasonings (chipotle and cayenne from the taste). The ribs were so full of fat I couldnt eat most of it. The waitresses were to busy chatting in the back and I had to wait for them to finish to get seated then had to find one of them just so I could pay to leave. The veggies were in the water way to long and mushed just with me looking at them. I will NOT eat there again Id rather go to taco bell where I know how bad what Im goimg to eat is ahead of time and not pay out the @$$ for fat meat and bad food. Thanks for nothin

I actually ate here a few months ago with my family. I ordered the mac and cheese (from the adult menu) and was expecting a warm cheesy homemade style dish. It was terrible, it was box mac and cheese, but it tasted like they had premade it, refrigerated it and them microwaved it.... it was dry, tasted like they used water with the cheese powder. Pro tip, you can make a simple cheese sauce with fresh pasta in no time, Flour roux, milk, salt, and a few cubes of velveta, would have done wonders. They cook from frozen, old frozen, owner needs to watch some restaurant impossible and take it to heart! I paid 20$ for box mac and cheese that wasnt even cooked properly and over cooked veggies.

Food was not fully cooked, tasted awful. Mashed potatoes were sour, and server argued that we were wrong, that they were fresh. They were dirt brown and sour. Received scrambled eggs and they arrived "french scrambled" which equated over cooked and crumbling to dust. Server was rude when replacing the offending eggs. One meal literally turned a stomach and the party ran for the bathroom to vomit. The server stated that she would take $5 off for that meal that had three bites taken out of it. Argued that all food was fresh when it quote obviously was not. Have never had an issue here at breakfast, but will likely never return due to service and quality.

I was upset with poor service from a waitress yesterday and asked the waitress behind the cash register to speak to the manager. She said she would pass on what I wanted to say. I said is the manager here? No the Owner is here and hes too busy to see anyone right now. I replied, I have a problem with his business and he is too busy to talk to one of his customers? Yes, she replied you can tell me. I said I have a complaint on the service and I dont see any point in telling you since I think this is an issue for the manager. She replied well if you dont want to tell me, I dont care about your complaint and walked off. Needless to say I wont be back.

I thought the reviews about this place were just from eccentric people, but I am not eccentric and I am generally forgiving in my food tastes but what is being said about this place is true. The place is nice but the food is horrible. I ordered ribs, mashed potatoes with veggies. The veggies were water logged and tasteless. The mashed potatoes had brown gravy but both the potatoes and gravy tasted like a rotten dish rag. When the ribs arrived they were warm and smothered with BBQ but were cold and greasy around the bone. I was hoping to enjoy a decent meal after driving all day but I was very very disappointed.

Ive eaten here in the past without a problem. However, this morning, the bacon & eggs had absolutely no flavor! Yucky! Pancakes were cold, but soggy. Biscuits & gravy were light on the gravy, lukewarm and tasted like a mouth full of flour. After politely mentioning some of this to the restaurant manager, we were insulted by being told that we were wrong, there was nothing wrong with our breakfast items and that there basically was something wrong with my wife and/or me. I highly discourage people from eating here if there is any expectation of quality.
