We love Pastini and have gone to a few different locations. Weve been to this one twice with mixed reviews (first time was pretty good). The food is always great but our second time into this location we had terrible service. We waited at the front for 10 minutes before we were even talked to. Once we were seated it took close to 20 minutes before someone came to take our order for drinks or food (after 2-3 other parties who were seated after us had their orders taken). Also our sever hardly came to the table once we had food and it took close to 20 minutes to get our bill after we had finished eating (I had to flag someone down for a to-go container and to get our bill). Our sever must have been able to tell we werent happy because she awkwardly apologized for "not being around enough" when I went to put down the tip but by then it was way too late. I was a server for 5 years and typically tip 20% plus because I know how important tips are to servers. I struggled to give a 10% and really wanted to give $0. To top it off, the slow service cost us arriving to Lloyd Center on time which is why we went downtown for dinner in the first place (probably not coming back to this location).

I can tell you exactly what Pastinis is about: Pasitins is a lot like a "dressed down" Olive Garden. Good, quality ingredients, but nothing to write home about. Service is perfectly fine, but nothing to write home about, etc. Prices are about what youd expect, but know this: TripAdvisor has listed Pastinis as belonging to the top 10% of ALL businesses worldwide in "performance." That means their profit to cost ratio is just crazy-good -- for THEM. Basically, they manage, somehow, to spend as little as possible on everything from their employees to their ingredients, charge most likely a bit more than they should, and the people are quite happy with all of it. The fact is that Pastinis is a "good" restaurant for the consumer (much better than fast food) and is positively SUPERB for the owners. These folks are making BANK on these noodles. Just sayin.

Just ate here this afternoon, one of the most unpleasant dining experiences Ive ever had. No hostess out front, waited almost 30 minutes for grilled bread and artichoke spread, then an additional 30 minutes for our pasta entrees. I would have been fine with that if the three employees who were not working at the time did not receive their meals well before we were given ours. Our waitress mustve realized that this was going to be the case and kept trying to force a salad appetizer on us. The female manager was there was well just kinda wandering around not paying attention. Waiting an hour for food in a DEAD restaurant and then having your employees eat before PAYING customers is unacceptable, upper management take note. Dont come here unless you want to eat after the employees.

I stopped by Pastini a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed. Ive been to a few other Pastini locations in the Portland area, but this was my first time stopping by at this specific one. It wasnt that crowded on Sunday evening when we went in, so there wasnt any wait. I found the service to be suitable but what shined to me was the food. My dining partners had one of the specials and the Gorgonzola Ravioli, which I found to be spot on. I had the Manicotti and it was pretty tasty. Price wise, you definitely get your bang for your buck, unlike some chains, such as the Olive Garden. Ill definitely stop by here again...you cant beat the value, atmosphere, and taste!

What do you like about it? Share a tip.Love this place! I have also visited the location downtown and was pleased with thier consistency. Everything I have tried is great. I have a habbit of repeat ordering when I go out. Here, I mix it up a bit more than I usually do and am always happy with what I get. I was disappointed to learn that one of my favorites has been taken off the new menu though (a dish with chicken, olives, and red pepper sauce), and also that often when I call in orders to go they are not done when they say they will be done. The food is worth the wait, but the parking sux big fat one!

Great food. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommend. We had been here several times before and daughter knew we liked it so her family gave us nice meal out here. We enjoyed our time a lot because our server was sweet, attentive and prompt with our food. Ruth, I think her name was and James the manager was quite good with helping us use our gift card mall Christmas gift. They know gluten free and work to make your time enjoyable. Tiramisu cake in GF is here to please. Love their coffee. Lemonade is awesome, too. Hugely satisfied. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Yes its a chain but its not Olive Garden. It taste fresher than Olive Garden. You can also see into the kitchen and theres not a microwave in sight so you know your pasta is cooked on site to order. Ive tried multiple different dishes and have yet to find one that I dont like. The joys of going out for pasta is that it is quick to prepare so it can be a nice, filling meal without taking too long. Family and kid friendly.

We appreciated the stellar service even more than the food. When an ingredient was accidentally left out of our pasta dish they re-made it for us without our having to ask, brought us bread to enjoy in the meantime, and offered us a free dessert to make it up to us. The pasta and dessert were well made and flavorful. Any restaurant can oops a dish, but it takes a good one to recover gracefully.

We do not have the $$$$ to hang in the cutting edge Italian bistros, which I am sure are better than Pastini. However, in the real world of real people who choose to spend reasonable amounts going out to dinner, this is a very good restaurant. The food is fresh, tastes good, and is nicely presented. The restaurant also has a very nice vibe, and gracious staff. We are fans!

Didnt even get a chance to eat. My husband and I entered seeing 2 tables just needing to be cleared. 2 parties of 4 entered behind us we were shoved to a tiny table in a corner with no elbow room while the later parties were seated at the larger tables. We werent even given an option. Very disappointing customer service.

This place is amazing. This is my familys first time in Portland and we saw this restaurant off of the drive to our house rental. This place blew my expectations away. The garlic bread was phenomenal and my meal was very tasty, I had the Gorgonzola tortellini. So if you are in Portland and need some pasta, go to Pastini!

The portions werent as bad as some say. The service was good. The waiter was on top of things. Great feel in the place. The food was sub par. The sauce was bland, the meatballs were under cooked as well as the kids chicken tenders. We will probably not go there again. Unfortunately I think the olive garden is better.
