1.0 star rating 9/19/2017 If I could give this a negative star I would. We got there and there was only one other table with people sat at it. The hostess(?) said sit anywhere. The place we chose was apparently out of bounds so we chose another boot. The hostess told us that we would have a 30 minute to 45 minute wait. We, of course were curious why, and she said, in a snippy sort of way, "We have 10 to go orders ahead of you." Now, I dont mind waiting for good food, at least a reasonable amount of time, but we didnt even get water for at least another 20 minutes. For some reason, I thought that someone would take our order so that we could somehow get INTO that line of orders. I mean, if you never take our order arent more and more called in take out orders just going to keep coming in? After about half an hour we asked how much longer it was going to be. The hostess said at least another 30 minutes. My aunt, who came in a few minutes after my friend and I said, you said it would be half an hour. The hostess said "No, I said half hour to 45 minutes, and you werent even here so how would you know?" That pretty much did it for us. We left and ate at Taco Bell instead.

Ive been eating at this local restaurant for years doing take out. but today my daughter and I decided to stop in for lunch. I had the Mandarin chicken and she had the stir fry broccoli with beef. I seriously think they change their lunch cook. My Mandarin chicken thats all it was. there wasnt anything to it. It was just a big blob of chicken with some really bad fried rice on the side w/what looked like a packaged spring roll. I realized it only cost $5.75 but I really expected better. in fact in the 16 years Ive been eating theres this is the worst Ive ever had it. The waitress was friendly and nice. from what Ive gathered they sold it to a new bunch of people so I am NOT recommending this to anybody unless they change the food it was really not very good. My daughter did say she liked the broccoli and beef that was it. shes did not the like fried rice or spring roll. And she thought the egg flower soup sucked :-(

Small independently run Chinese Kitchen has some real talent in the cooking area whereas grey traditional everyday dishes like General Tsos and your spicy Kung Pao items but also some truly great authentic dishes like black pepper and salt fried squid, special house lo mein, and they just put out a new menu and the little marinated ribs are to die for! Little queen bee runs the counter and she is flipping fantastic and it is always a welcoming smile when you come in and dine in. But we like to get food on the run to take home and their packaging is always top notch with the fresh hot mustard and all of the extras you would come to expect. Lastly, pricing is very reasonable. You can get a three or four item combo plate for under ten bucks and it is wonderful when you want a little bit of everything. I dont work there and I was not paid to endorse them

Whoever said there are roaches in the food... lol, what? Youve gotta be kidding me. Umm, no... the fact is that this place is a hidden GEM of American-style Northern Chinese cuisine. Just dont expect great atmosphere. You go there for the incredibly fresh meat and veggies they serve up the way you loved Chinese food as a kid. Try the Kung Pao Shrimp and youll be praising this place like I am. Incredible prices, incredible portions, and seriously good, fresh Chinese food, but with a semi-dive atmosphere that keeps out all but the lucky riff-raff. Best kept dining secret in Portland if you ask me. Oh yeah, the attitude of your server MAY suck -- but shell bring ya everything you need promptly -- just not necessarily with a smile, lol.

Grew up on Rainbow Dragon and that was my go to for years as an adult. My husband and I wanted to try something new since moving to the area. We found this place on Google Maps. I went in and looked at the menu. The staff was extremely friendly and everything looked so good. The food was ready super fast and everything tasted great! New favorite place for Chinese food! 8/9/2016-- Came tonight and ordered $20 worth of food. Two meals. Got home and was extremely disappointed. The last few times there was a ton of food. Tonight it seemed everything was cut in half.

Me and my boyfriend came in because he had great memories of the place years ago. We were told to sit down instead of being walked to our seats and waited 10 minutes without getting water or tea or acknowledged with only one other table seated in the restaurant We decided to wait 5 more minutes and see if anybody would notice us. the waitress running in and out of kitchen yelling at kitchen staff, ignoring eye contact with us. We decided to leave and eat at another Chinese restaurant down the road and had a much more pleasant experience (:

Amazing hole-in-the-wall place! We were coming from the eclipse in Salem and dropped in. The food was reasonably priced, the flavor was amazing (sechwan beef exploded in my mouth), the portions are large, and the hostess was extremely friendly. The only negative we had was that there were no refillable drink, and the hostess even made us fresh iced tea to compensate. Definitely worth a look.

I went there for a pick up order during lunch. I got what was suppose to be the hunan beef but what I got was some salty chewy mess that gave me a stomachache. Yeah its cheap, but I can get a great bowl of pho for that price. I dont know what why anyone would eat here when their main source of income are the gambling games.

I was a little worried diving to the restaurant and when we got there is was a little empty, but when our server told me that they were out of potstickers because they only make fresh daily I knew they were ligit. The food was so good that Im planing a nother trip to Portland just for this restaurant!!

This rating is for the wonton soup here. Get it! The wontons are amazing!!! They do NOT skimp on meat in this soup, your to go container will have more pork, shrimp and noodles than broth in it. Ive tried a couple of other dishes here, but none came even close to the amazingness of that soup.

Long time customers and still enjoy it, but over time the portions have gotten smaller and cost larger, so we dont go as often. This is mostly Americanized Chinese food but we like that too. We only do take off but service is friendly and we dont wait long even if we didnt call in ahead.

Our go to family restaurant. Weve been going here for years, and will continue to do so. I want to give it five stars, but they need to hire more help. More then once it seems its one young woman running everything. Shes very nice and gets our orders correct, but she needs back up.
