The food is excellent but the service is awful. I would recommend this place for takeout or delivery but not dining in. My roommate and I went to Jumbo for lunch. There were only two tables occupied when we arrived. It took unnecessarily long for the waitress to take our order. When she did she took my order only and walked away. We had to get her attention to point out she had not taken my roommates order. After our ticket was put in, a family of 4 arrived and was seated near us. They ordered after us as well, but got their food (which required no more preparation than ours) a full 10 minutes before we did - despite arriving and ordering before them. When we finally got our food we were starving - it took 30 minutes (!!!) after we ordered to get our meals. When we finished the waitress offered to box up our leftovers for us. It took her 10 minutes to do so. We literally watched her take it into the kitchen and despite sufficient staffing, proceeded to help other customers while our food just sat there. To add insult to injury, our waitress NEVER came to check how our meal was. Instead a man we had not even seen, much less interacted with, apparated as if from nowhere to fill our water (fyi we only got one water refill in nearly an hour until after our food was completed then it was as if they couldnt refill our water often enough) and HE asked how our meal was. To be honest my roommate and I both felt awkward at this and snubbed overall. Great food. Worst service Ive ever experienced dining out.

Weirdly good. Chinese restaurant attached to a bar? A mildly dive-y bar? Well, first thing is that the restaurant has a fun 50s vibe. The food isnt fancy or wildly artful, hence only four stars. But its good. Well made, fresh ingredients, well seasoned, perfect temperature, a reasonable number of veggie options. Hot and sour is both hot AND sour, and has a dense, rich stock. It isnt veggie, strictly speaking, but this is an area Ill make exceptions in. The Egg Foo Young is perfect - lots of crunchy vegetables, salty brown gravy, but that perfect junk food vibe all the best EFY has. Crab Rangoon has lots of rich cream cheese, discernible crab (possibly crap product - I dont have the palate to tell the difference), nicely deep fried but not greasy. Every vegetable involved in any production is always crispy crunchy unless, like a thin sprout, it is meant to be a bit soggy. Every time weve eaten there the food has been solid, well made, quick, and really good. Serious comfort food.

Its like a dilapidated food truck just not actually a truck. If you dont believe in food from a truck then this likely isnt the restaurant for you. And honestly your in the wrong town... Its kinda a thing here. Anyways this restaurant was call joes or something like that years ago you know like pre-useful-internet era. Used to eat there as a kid... Anyways the inside looks the same except with the type of decor youd expect in a chinese restaurant over 50s style diner. Certainly needs remodeled or at least cleaned up and aim for the diner feel. Food is affordable, kinda greasy, and good. Although if you take a date there you wont win any points. Recommend grabbing it togo. also lunch specials for 6bucks Try the Mandarin Chicken

the food is dank!! I used to come here all the time about 8 years ago and I just returned recently. I was fearful the food was going to be worse than what I remembered from the past but I was pleasantly surprised that the food in my opinion actually improved. normally when I eat cheap Chinese I usually feel like crap afterwards but Jumbos isnt that greasy and cooked to perfection every time. they must have the same guy cooking back there from eight years ago cause he has perfected the menu.

Quirky decor makes the front dining area interesting, though it wont suit all tastes. The lengthy menu offers an abundance of choice, but no surprises to anyone vaguely familiar with Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine. The service is good, as is the food, but nothing about the place or its offerings makes me eager to return. An interesting choice if youre in the neighborhood, but probably not worth going out of your way.

My friend & I read Tims review & decided to try this place out. And I have to agree with everything he says.... "the place seems like it would be horrible! The location, and the parking lot are a little sketchy. But the food was AMAZING! The prices are low and the portions are plentiful! Once I tasted the food, I was hooked! I will definitely be back!!!"

Old place in an old industrial area, but excellent food! Weve tried everything up and down 82nd ave, Sunnyside happy valley, but this place is the best. Their Mongolian beef is excellent! Their low mein excellent. Weve ordered to go several times and this place is on point. Best Chinese in deep SE Portland , east side

Good general tsos, great mu shu, and wonderfully garlicky egg foo young. The service is great, the portions are plentiful, the price is terrific and if you eat in you get soup and tea. Try the family meal and share with the group! They also have video poker here but it is mercifully hidden in the bar area.

You cant beat the prices here. The quality isnt top notch but its inline with the cost, a good value. The menu here is actually quite large. Ive seen other reviews where they said this place is so ghetto looking I dont think so yeah its old but its not run down and its clean. I will continue eating here.

Wow- what a treasure of a place! A dive Chinese restaurant with really good food! I was a little wary from the outside, but the food is tasty and a great price. It is our quick go to place for take out- a standard order of Kung Pao Beef and Cashew Chicken feeds my boyfriend and I for at least two meals.

Nothing to complain about! The Green Pepper Beef was great, bell peppers were still crispy n fresh and the beef was tender and tasty. Cashew chicken had great flavor as well. The server liked us and was very sweet. Dinner was $21 + tip. Solid.

The place is great! Portions are huge! It is what it is! Lightning fast! We live minutes from the place and we can order, then immediately hop in the car. When we walk in its usually done and waiting for us! Food has never disappointed us!

not bad. We like greasy American Chinese food and this always his the spot. you get a decent amount for your money. The location is a little ehh. theres a bar on the side, which I dont prefer. But you can always order to go.

We got there by coincidence looking for a place to eat. I am so glad we found this place! Food was delicious, friendly staff and nice environment. I wish it would be closer to my neighborhood. Its a hidden gem.
