I would have given zero stars but you cant. We hosted a graduation party for my nephew. The planning began in January and they were aware we had 180 guests. Didnt have time to enjoy the food as our family ended up providing service to our own guests. They had two servers for our entire party! We had to get our own ice and water. We were told our guests were going through too much ice and water when we got our own. We also asked for silverware. The manager told me when she said silverware that meant only chopsticks. When we went into the service area then to just get our own, they told us we were using all of their forks so they gave us PLASTIC forks. They then began putting random platters of food that was intended for our guests tables on the cake table. No one opened the wine bottles so we borrowed wine opener from the bar tender (PS they also didnt have any wine glasses and told us to poor the wine in soda cups). The bill arrived. Almost $800 for gratuity and $170 for an uncorking fee. We complained. The manger was extremely rude and said she would call the police if we didnt put any the gratuity. I asked for the contract t and pointed out that NO gratuity had negotiated and we had the right to decide how much we would leave. I also explained that the uncorking fee was ridiculous given we uncorked and poured the wine for all our guests! A man arrived and eventually took 200 dollars off the gratuity. I will be contacting the better business bureau for the violation of contract and failure to provide the service agreed upon. Absolutely horrible...AND to top it all off the food was cold! Never go there.

Hands down THE worst Chinese food my friend and I have ever had. My friend and I went there during late evening hours and played video poker for an hour and decided to get an order to go. This was like 6 months ago, so I dont recall everything we ordered. But since it was a to go order, we didnt get to check out the "food" until we got home. It was disgusting. It was as if they had taken all of the food from previous plates that people didnt finish, and they heated it up and gave to us. The "sesame chicken" was like, fried over and over, probably because it was off of someone elses dish and they tossed it back into the fryer and served to me. GROSS. We couldnt eat ANY of the "food". When we called the restaurant to see if they could make it right, the owner was so rude and didnt want to make it right what so ever. She was so rude, and she almost made it seem like we were making up everything. She told us to bring the food back tomorrow. ??? Really?!?!? At that point, we just hung up and shook our heads. Come on lady, I am not going to TANT my refridgerator with your discusting food. I never leave reviews like this, but this place is HORRIBLE. I wouldnt even give them a star. GET YOUR S%@* TOGETHER CHINESE VILLAGE!! And take a course in customer service. The customer is always right.....

Went here for the first time based on the reviews of others. Im not getting why some people are giving it 5 stars and the others one star.. Its totally a one star. First off my friend and I walked in and no employees where at the front but two other customers were waiting to be seated. We stood for about 3 min or so and some women came out of a room behind the register and said "someone will be with you shortly" then we heard her yelling at people in the kitchen to come seat everyone. It was about 5 more min before anyone came out. The place had only 1 table and the guy was done eating. ZERO customers were in the dinning room other then this guy. We were seconds away from walking out then another women popped out and sat everyone. The place was silent we could hear our own heartbeats it was so quite and weird. When the food came it was very large portions but not so good. In the end we both wished we had gone to Panda Express it would have been so much better!... Ill never go back.

I was way faded already. I didnt drink, I didnt eat, I just sang. The Karaoke setup was lacking. The songbook was thick, but needs more hip hop (like all karaoke). The KJ didnt have song slips. Isnt that kind of required in KJing. He arbitrarily uses auto tune to make you sound like T-Pain. Fun, but let my horrible singing shine through, pal. You sing in front of a projection screen that has nothing projected on to it. Boring. There is no lighting. When people want to embarrass them selves on the karaoke stage, let them be seen. We need more light so we can post the pictures and video on the interwebs. I have seen much better KJ setups in divier places than this, but karaoke is as fun as you make it and I still had a blast doing my rendition of the classic "Genie in a Bottle"

I have been to this Chinese place 2 times, the first time i got a dinner platter with orange chicken and pork fried rice. the rice had hard spots in it and the chicken was soft with no crispy pieces in it. I decided months later that maybe it was just a bad night for them because i came in around 11pm the first time so i gave them another chance. the second time i got Crab puffs (that were soggy), BBQ Pork (that was chewy and a very small portion), and Pork Chow Mein (this was edible, but not worth keeping my leftovers for the next day) I am really sad that this place has such terrible food, because they are very conveniently located and mostly have decent portion sizes.

I have lived in Montavilla for over 60 years. I do not remember when there wasnt Chinese Village. When I was a kid, my mom and dad would talk to the owner? Tommy? I think that was his name. so this is a restaurant that I have been going to for a very long time. I recall ordering grilled cheese when I was a little kid. I like the food, I like the service. the food isnt fancy, the service is casual. I am comfortable there. I do not visit the bar and do get to go, but probably eat at a booth ½ the time. the interior could use an update I think, but I am happy it is still here. Must be at least 60 years in business.

First impression...Floor and tables DIRTY !!! Second...Cold appetizers !!! Third ...The egg flower soup came with a Feather inside..Yes a feather !! When the feather was pointed out by my wife the staff/waitress seemed to appear bothered and disbelieved that our claim was valid. She referred us to her boss and said" I cant do nothing about it." The food smelled good, but ultimately our appetites vanished. So Long Chinese Village.. Clean your act up!

I love this place, partially out of sentiment, Ill admit. One night, there was a crew of rappers and a crew of lesbians joking and laughing with each other. I have a dozen stories like this. Possibly the most diverse bar Ive ever been to in Portland. But youre also cheating yourself if you dont have the General Tsos Chicken. Cheap, strong drinks and nutty Karaoke. If that doesnt sell you, this is not the place for you.
