Ive heard of this place, and being that I grew up in a Peruvian household, I trek all over the place to try new restaurants. So I decided to try this place and drove in from Milwaukie. Appearance wise, the place is set up like a normal Portland counter restaurant. You walk in, you order food at the counter, you sit and they bring it to you. The atmosphere felt pushed. Good music, but stuff on the wall to represent Peru just felt tacky. Place was clean and roomy though, so that was a plus. Food prices were higher then normal. 1 sandwich and 2 appetizers ran me just under $30. This is the norm price wise in Portland, but the portions are normally generous...these were a bit small. Now, had the food been extraordinary tasting, I would have not complained, but it was ordinary. I ordered the empanadas, and had some of the Pollo a la Brasa sandwich and wasnt impressed at all. The empanadas were vary bland, as was the sandwich. The fries are your typical skinny fries that you get at costco. I also ordered a Pisco sour and again, it was par. Better then places like Montage who do their own variation, but being someone who drinks it regularly they put to much sugar in it. If you like a sweeter pisco sour, then sure, you might be happy, but I enjoy the bite that it should have. My overall thoughts, this place is par. Should you try it, sure, if you are in the North Portland area and are unable to travel to Andina or El Inka and absolutely need Peruvian food. Realistically though, due to its location, there is many other choices in the immediate area that you could better spend your money at. **SIDE NOTE** This has been bugging me a lot lately. It seems the new common theme is for these counter top restaurants to print out receipts they come with a tip line in advance. Mind you, tipping should be reserved for people that actually give you a service. In this place, you bus your own tables, you get your own refills, and the only time they come out is to give you your food. So remind me again why I would tip when you could just ring a bell and I could grab my own plate? If you are not going to provide an actual service, please do not expect a tip.

I came in here for my birthday lunch but will never go back due to the rude interaction with co-owner Sadie Morrison. I tried ordering the butifarra with the salsa on the side. The person at the counter was taking my order when Sadie walks up and in a very condisending tone tells me that its their signauture sandiwch so I have to either give it the "old college try as is" or "she will find me something else to order." Im not confrontational and didnt want to bring down the celebratory mood so I ordered another sandwich that wasnt the one I wanted. I wouldnt even normally post a bad review but this interaction was so unpleasant that its still bothering me hours later. Its NOT OK to belittle your customers.

Another white washed American restaurant. The only Peruvian thing is the name. No heart, no tripe, no cuy, no insects, no sea weed. Nothing actually indigenous to the rich Peruvian culture... Its as authentic as the reggae music played in all the tourist restaurants in Cuzco... If this is Peruvian then Taco Bell is Mexican. People mention street food but I never say any Peruvian street food at this place unless you consider Mc. Donalds pork sandwiches street food... Colonialism =(

Peruvian street food and drinks in a fun atmosphere. They were able to make the shrimp platter gluten and dairy free and it was still delicious. I also got a cup of their purple corn juice, yum! My 22month neice loved sampling from all of our plates and there was space for her to run around and get energy out while we waited. They also have coloring books and crayons set aside for kids. We also saw a number of couples on dates and group get together. Great space for everyone.

3 staff. 2 people in restaurant. Never been here before. Tipped about $3 for counter service for me and my kid (a couple items and drinks with no substitutions). When the girl brought our food she just stared at our empty table and told me where to go to get water, silverware, napkins as though she were too busy to go the extra inch? Food and drink was good to average but not mind blowing or even just really good. Wont be back. Would not recommend.

I loved this place. Having traveled to peru before, it was nice to see some familiar items on the menu. I ate tons of llomo saltado when I was in peru, and it was kind of strange that they served it on a sandwich, but the sandwich was amazing. the fries were super good too. I hope the place sticks around cause it was delicious!

Have had a very enjoyable experiences here. It carries peruivian street-vendor style sandwiches in terms of food fare; theyre full of flavor, and great replications of all the different sauces I remember from my single trip down there[which hardly makes me an expert]. Plus: Foosball table, whats not to like?

Fast and reasonable price. If you dont like dressing, dont forget to remove the mayo/dressing for BOTH of your Quinoa AND greens (they only did that for my Quinoa). The potatoes on the side is the best of all. This is a family friendly restaurant so be ready for kids laughter and tears.

Great food, nice owners and a cute space. Counter service and kind of neighborhood-y, but worth a trek across town for their many different kinds of pisco sours and delicious food (I especially like it for Happy Hour, but great stop for a nice lunch too).
