Corporate, I hope you are reading; this reflects on you and your employees! I didnt even eat the food, had it boxed and then threw it away after paying because of the experience. Okay, so this is my first time at this restaurant and my last! Horrible, offensive and disrespectful experience by our server Mitch (which wasnt the name he gave us after asking him for it because he didnt introduce himself or have a name tag). I cant remember the name he gave to be honest. The manager Sumitra was worse as she disrespected us by saying she backs up her servers 100 percent! Even though her waiter LIED and said WE WERE RUDE AND WERE RECORDING HIM, YES EVERYONE RECORDING HIM and Sumitra, the Manager, supported her server and decided to disrespect the customers by even entertaining this idiotic excuse for bad service. Who does that? Especially a manager. Im a visitor, taking selfies and pictures with my friends! We were sat with no menus. Waited for our waiter who showed up minutes later and asked him if we could get menus after he asked if he could take our order and acted as if it was our fault we didnt have the menus. He then went to go get them and asked for our drinks, we asked for two raspberry teas and one coke. He came back with TWO cokes..., then we let him know about the mix up and he said "Ill get that" and went to get the right drink as if we made the mistake. Finally, took our order and I asked specifically for chicken alfredo with angel hair, because it wasnt in the menu and he said "you got it". I get fettuccine alfredo instead. I let him know and he said "okay sure" and then I asked "you do remember hearing me say angel hair?" and he said "no I honestly didnt but okay I can get it changed"... his personality was so passive aggressive and offensive. We talked to Sumitra about the horrid experience and she acted like she didnt care. When she came back 5 minutes later after charging the card, I told her, "as a manager who gets a complaint about a bad experience you shouldve at least tried to turn it around around and say I will take care of this. Im sorry I took the appetizer off of your bill", but she said "no, not tonight because my waiter said YOU were rude and youre recording him". I said "are you serious? Im offended and disrespected you would even mention this to us, why would we do any of that, first we dont have menus, then he doesnt remember our order and now you are saying we were wrong?" She said "yeah I back up my servers 100 percent". I then asked for her name and a higher authority and she said "no, I was the only one" and I said "no, I know there is someone above you and I wanted her name and the servers name" which she refused to give me until I pressed and she finally gave in. This is not over, I will call corporate and they will know about the experience their employees give to customers. This is not what I expected as a Portland visitor. Next time you go (if I were you, I wouldnt go, but if you do) remember the name is Sumitra, who is the manager and Mitchell or Mitch, the server. Stay away from them. They should not be in the customer service business. I am so upset and offended.

Not worth your time. Poor service. We will not be back. We brought our son here after a visit to Doernbecker (having his blood checked. 2 years cancer free, a big night! We asked them to do something small. The manager said she would do a candle and maybe even have some staff sing. They did NOTHING as in NOT A THING! Disappointing and clearly my fault for imposing. The server was nothing special the food was good. The kids menu offered a good value. Issues with service included: we couldnt get a second loaf of bread (one loaf for 5 people), my wife and I had ice tea. 4 packets of sugar on the table when asking for more sugar the server brought 3 packets literally 3 packets (evidently some shortage of sugar packets exists here and I seem to use to much of it), getting a refill was challenging to the point that I received only one, water never arrived (we requested it twice). The place was busy with no real wait to be seated. It was poor form for me to impose while they handled a moderate crowd they must have been completely overwhelmed though 1/4 of the place was still empty. Clearly my fault that I received such poor service as I did chose to take my family here. I wont return I suggest you avoid the place. The server received a mediocre tip as his actions demanded. I phoned the manager to thank her for doing nothing at all. she apologized in a normal mechanical fashion. After posting a review on Yelp I was contacted by the so called general manager. He presumed to say he understood cause he has kids too. Clearly the same thing watching your son almost die to a disease and having children. He said he wanted to do something for me. I gave them my personal address and said I prefer a note from the owners acknowledging the issues at our visit. A month later and guess what, NOTHING just like the night of our dinner. They cannot even provide a simple note. What a horrible place. Why offer something to not deliver. Why say yes to people then do nothing. I assume this was to hide this poor treatment from the owners. I would be ashamed to call myself a manager working at this place. Support families with cancer and stay away. Support families and stay away. Support small local business that value your patronage and stay away from this corporate monster.

We came for lunch at 1:45 pm and they close lunch service at 2:30pm. The decor is a beautiful combination of antique and ornate furniture and fixtures. The seating is quite varied a very unique experience. The hostess gave us a choice of two areas to sit all with a view of the Willamette RIver. It was so pleasant to watch the water and the activity therein. We ordered the Spaghetti, one with a sausage and one with two meatballs. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was presented well. The meal came with salads or minestrone soup and a medium loaf of warm bread / butter. We asked for salads with ranch dressing and were told they had there own like kind dressing that we chose. The dressing and dinner salads were very good with cold very crisp lettuce. The food came and was presented well and tasted very good. We were filled with enough left to fill us with lunch the next day. Please note that we are average eaters and those with medium appetites will be well satisfied. We had a very good time even though we were very tired from our long drive and activitys. The only thing that was not up to par was the service from our waitress. Twice she forgot our request for napkins and was more interested in cleaning tables. The rest of the support staff were very attentive. We will be back,... But bringing our own extra napkins, its spaghetti, youre going to need extra napkins!

The Old Spaghetti Factory on the SW waterfront is a great little space. It can be a little tricky to get to, especially if there is construction. So, do your research and take your time with exits and turns. It is worth the effort to get to it. It is a chain restaurant, but it is a fun and eclectic little chain. They have great food offerings, and their selection of wines is very good. They serve delicious mixed drinks. The service is top notch, and the restaurant is always very clean. I almost always get the brown buttered mizithra any more. But, Ive had pretty much everything on the menu (I work close by). I like to meet up with family here. It is a great place for people of all ages. Ive never gone to Old Spaghetti Factory and walked away unhappy. Everything is so wonderful, and bread and ice cream are included. It is really easy to over eat! Thankfully its location along the waterfront also make it a good place for a walk...
