In Portland on business for the first time, and want to experience all the many great, sights, places & tastes Ive heard about in just the short time I have --I stopped in F & D today to find some interesting cheese to accompany a few Willamette Valley wines I picked up. My expectations were far exceeded not only by the tempting & diverse offerings, but also by the knowledge, warmth and kindness of the staff. Mat went above & beyond to provide "insider" tips, and recommendations for restaurants & places to see. You made this slightly road-weary traveler from NY feel very much at home, and saved me from "Google-confusion!" Very much appreciated!

So disappointed! Their selection was in a soda cooler. When I asked the staff why the Web site showed a selection, after ten minutes of looking in a beer cooler, the young man said they changed after their big show case went down. I am a visiting Alaskan and so upset! I will never waste gas or my time !!! Better shops 1400 miles away. And I will be calling the manager/owner to express my dissatisfaction! !!!!!

This is a great addition to the neighborhood. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the space is warm and inviting. If you are looking for bargain cheese, dont come here. These are high end cheeses and gourment food items with wines available for pairing. There are plenty of other options for the typical in Portland, so it is nice to have an option with harder to find items.

Great product selection & fabulous atmosphere, however they have snooty & impatient service. I live a couple blocks away & have been going there regularly the past year & no one ever remembers me. Im not looking for special treatment or for them to know my dogs name but come on! A hey there, welcome back or see you soon would be kind of nice.

I loved everything here from the staff to the great selection of food and snacks. This place is a hidden treasure! The space is wide open and airy with great coffee and wifi. Although the building is a bright green it completely goes unnoticed. I just happened to stumble upon it and am flying did. Im definitely going back.

Went here for my first time last week. We sat outside on the patio area and enjoyed the sun, the staff was extremely friendly, to us and our doggy. They have a really extensive Oregon wine list, featuring one of my favorite wineries (Quady North), which is actually a rarity, so it was really impressive.

5:50 PM - 09/05/10 Walked through the door, shaved-head hipster behind counter said "we close in 10 minutes, so youll need to be quick." Problem solved, douchebag. I guess well go to Whole Foods three blocks away.

Best Sandwiches in Portland. Forget Bunk, Meat Cheese Bread, this place kills em. Super tasty sandwiches served with a nice side salad and good wines available by the glass or good beers in the cooler.

Seems like a great place but is kind of lacking larger selections. I wouldnt go out of my way to go there but if Im in the area, its a nice small gourmet stop and I think there is a deli too.

Foster and Dobbs was a fun place to visit and the owner is a great person to chat with. It was a hot day and they let us hang out with our puppy and stay cool. The coffee is great!
