A friend bought me here for breakfast one morning, he hadnt hyped it up or anything, it was just a place he had eaten from time to time. I mention that because I think a lot of bad reviews come from the restaurant not living up to the high expectations that others have put out about it. No hype here though so I was coming in fairly unbiased. Also this view doesnt reflect their lunch or dinner preparations, just what I was able to get their for breakfast one morning. I got the chorizo breakfast scramble, a biscuit, and a diet lime coke. All together it cost me somewhere between nine and eleven bucks. The chorizo scramble was alright. Nothing blew me away about it in particular, but nothing I can really fault it for either. I did like that it had a decent bit of spice to it. It was made from scratch so that was nice. I was pretty disappointed by the biscuit; it was cold, dense, and totally unappetizing. Maybe its a cultural thing and Im just biased against it. Im used to light, hot, and fluffy buttermilk biscuits and of course this didnt compare to that. Still, this biscuit somehow seemed to be cooler than room temperature, like it had been pulled form the fridge and was almost done thawing. Personally I wouldnt seek this place out again and I think you could probably find better fare in the area.

Elephants is excellent at what they do, so its kind of hard to complain about the little stuff. The drink selection is top-notch. The cookies are delicious. The macaroni and cheese, especially if you come early in the afternoon, is to die for. The flow of the space is a little ridiculous ("Am I in a line right now? Oops."), but once you make it back to that hot food bar on a rainy Oregon day... Oh man. I do wish theyd post their weekly menu online, but eh, small gripes.

They have pre-made deli sandwiches, but can tell they are made daily. We bought an egg salad and turkey avocado sandwich to share, with a couple bags of chips, and drinks which totaled $25. We left full, and the sandwiches had great flavor even though they were simple. Bread was light and moist. When looking for sandwiches on a go, this is a good place.

Its always fun to grab a bite to eat here before an afternoon movie! I enjoy bringing the Mirabella ladies here. There is always sandwiches and hot soups among other items! Its clean and environmentally conscience, staff is always pleasant and courteous! I didnt give 5 stars - there is ALWAYS room for improvement!

My favorite lunch place with good variety and awesome location. Grab some food and enjoy in the terrace of the park. Option to get "kale slaw" (a tasty variety of coleslaw with the mystical properties of kale), instead of fries. Happy hour at 3:30p gets you a buck off of a microbrew. Check it out!!

They deliver! I ordered lunch there for work and they were able to deliver that day in about an hours time. I had the roast balsic beef sandwich and it was fantastic. All of the food was really fresh. I havent been inside the restaurant but I had a really good experience with their delivery option.

Delicious treats, a great place to stop and get lunch, especially if its nice and you can take it over to Director Park. Theres never any seating inside so Id suggest stopping by on the go if its not sunny. Its also fairly pricey for being so simple, but theres always some new treat to find.

Great place to grab a sandwich or cup of soup for lunch, but it does get crowded. Its not as large as the NW location and they dont make sandwiches on demand, but the ones they have are fresh and tasty. Go on a nice day and grab a sandwich and eat it in the park - you wont regret it.

Great food, I love the atmosphere, and has really reasonable prices. Delicious orange tomato soup (sounds weird, but is fabulous). Also has lots of great local baked goods. I always go there when I am at the airport, and stop by sometimes when I am down town.

Great place to grab a quality quick bite. Cold sandwiches and salads are pre-made and ready to grab along with healthy snacks, chips, bottled drinks, desserts, etc. They also serve warm sandwiches and soup for lunch. For breakfast, their quiches are amazing!

Unless the crowd is just too much for you, I cant see why anyone wouldnt just come here for most of their lunches. Wide variety of ways you can lean for your lunch choices plus the great outdoor patio park across the street. A+

Wonderful lunch spot - easy to grab fresh salads, sandwiches and soups. It can get a little crowded around lunchtime because their isnt much space inside, so be patient or plan on heading over before/after the lunch rush.

The quality of the food is good but theres little in the way of good value. The portions are reasonable but not always filling. Everything is satisfying flavor wise, but Ill only grab food there in a pinch.

A little more cramped than their NW location but this is a perfectly executed version of the deli youve come to know and love. Pop in to grab a drink on the go or buy a sandwich and eat it in Director Park.

An outlet of THE original Portland deli. If you havent been to an Elephants, you owe it to yourself to go, even if the not exactly bottom-of-the-barrel prices wont keep you coming back all the time.

Great little Deli. Things always SEEM more expensive than Id like, but I keep going back so I must be satisfied with the food. The staff is sometimes super nice, sometimes a little pretentious.

Smaller Elephants oriented mostly to those looking to grab n go something quick. However, its not crowded on weekends so can be a nice place to grab a coffee and scone, or whatever.

The soup is outstanding. Everything else is just OK, but I keep coming back for the best (American) soup in town. The staff is usually very courteous, sometimes can be a bit snooty.

Some of their soups are spectacular. I love their vegetable stews. Their meat loaf and mashed potatoes are very good. Its good for takeout; not so much for dining in.

ALWAYS BUSY, especially during lunch. But, do get in & out in a decent amount of time. Food has always been awesome & love some of the little do-dads they sell!

Gluten free salads which are prepacked and ready to go. Fairly limited selection of gluten free products, but at least there was something and it was very good.

Nice little cafe style Elephants Deli right near Fox Theaters. Its a great spot to grab a bit before or after a movie, and its right off the MAX line too!

I like this place after 6 (I think its 6) the sandwiches are half off. So grab yourself a sandwich and an orange tomato soup to go with it.

Be sure you are stopping in while on your way to somewhere else, not a ton of seating, but I really enjoy everything else about the place!
