I will never go here again. How does this place have such high reviews? I requested a triple 12 ounce latte, and they gave me a 16 ounce. I gave it back and told them I asked for a 12 ounce. The window guy asked "wouldnt you rather have more?" I explained that the ratio of coffee to milk is different. A 3 shot 16 oz tastes less of coffee than a 12 oz with 3 shots. Would they please make me a 12 oz? The window guy then hands barista lady the cup and asks her to remake it as a 12 oz. She pours it in a 12 oz cup! I say to her "I just saw you pour that in a 12 oz cup. I would like it to be remade please." She grabs another 12 oz cup, glances at me, then turns her back so I cant see what she is doing, then turns back around and hands me the original drink in a new cup. UNBELIEVABLE! Not only do they lack a basic understanding of ratios (which you would think would be essential for people working with coffee...), they are dishonest and shady. Never again.

I get my coffee here at least a few times a week. I used to love them and would have gladly rated 5 stars a few months back, but lately there have been all these new employees who have not kept up with consistency. I get an off menu coffee with a split primary flavor and it tastes totally different day by day depending on who made it. I always look and see who is making coffee these days to see if I need to add an extra shot or not as some of the newer hires have been making mine extra sweet. Also I keep getting charged a different price everytime ever since Black Rock raised their prices again this year, anywhere from $4.10 to almost $6 which is a pretty big difference. I miss a few of their veteran employees who have moved on and no longer work here big time. It is on my way to work so I will continue to visit them but just wish they would up their game and get everyone of their staff on board with doing things the same way.

Great service with a smile as usual :-) These people never disappoint with their service. They will customize whatever order you want. Their drinks are really sweet for me but Theyll take it down if you want them to. They usually have fun music going and a great environment. The people inside are lively and trendy. But not with the pretentious attitude like you find at some Portlandy type places. Most of the people at my work like caramel Blondies blended. I prefer the blended redbull smoothies in peach flavor. With a little bit of cream in it theyre delicious. And they dont taste like an energy drink at all. Its definitely hidden in a way thats dangerous :-) Check it out.

We recently discovered Black Rock in the greater Portland area after hearing about it from coworkers. My wife and I tried both of their seasonal drinks and they were excellent, if not better than other regional drive-thru coffee chains. Getting in and out of this location is a bit challenging, as it is at the corner of a busy intersection. The barista was friendly, and ensured we got our Black Rock stamp card to use at other locations.

In general Im a fan of Black Rock, but this particular location forgot to add the professionalism to the "fun" they were having and served me almost the opposite of what I ordered in spite of repeating "NO sugar" after I requested no sugar. Im now miles away with a cup of coffee that is undrinkable (for me) and they will do nothing to make it right. All Im saying is - buyer beware. Check your drink.

I agree with Kat, used to go to Starbucks, not anymore! They just dont make the drinks as strong as Black Rock. Im kind of a coffee snob who cant stand burnt coffee or off tasting roasts, I dont even like Stumptown that much (gasp!) but Black Rock does it for me every time. The taste is great, gets me up and going, and theyve got $2 Tuesdays. If you like your coffee strong and tasty, come here.

I am a Starbucks girl, but these days only Black Rock can give me the caffeine I need. I dont know what they do to their roast, but oh man, the taste! the caffeine! the service! Usually a twenty/thirty something; always making conversation and have a smile on their face (and the music they place always helps me wake up, mainly from the volume level, but I actually like it) lol

Went here trying to get a coffee made at Dutch Brothers and they surprise me on how well they were able to nail it down so if you want a really good cup of coffee on a cold day and you are on Powell or 82nd you should stop by this place especially if youre like me and into the whole Dutch Brothers experience but trust me these guys are just as good if not better

Ultimately the best caffeine fix ever. I love the coffee here. No other coffee shop compares to the quality of Black Rock Coffee. Been going here since they opened. Tried other places, and its just not the same at all. Also awesome customer service. I absolutely love everyone here. They even remember me and my drink no matter what location I go to.

Brewed before. Black rock after. These guys win all over all coffee shops! All their drinks are amazing my favorite is the caramel Blondie. fun names for their drinks easy to remember they include the tax to their prices so no tricks here. Good service no snobbie Starbucks attitudes just friendly bubblie not annoying people. Dedicated customer :)

I love black rock!they never disapoint. Great coffee,freindly service,affordable,late hours and the barristas are super cute. The coffee iscomparable to dutch brothers i think. Not as good as stumptown but cheaper and the barristas are way hotter. I love This place!

Love the price and taste. Caramel blondie is the best. Its amazing I pay 5 bucks for a 24 is 4 shot CB. I used starbucks on an emergency basis only and have to pay 5.25 for a 20 ounce double caramal white mocha. I wish you all were 24 hours.

I love Black Rock coffee sadly both times I have visited this location they have messed up my order. Also getting into the entrance can be a bit tricky due to heavy traffic.

Drive thru spot has great service, and even better coffee options. They offer soy/coconut milk instead of cows milk for you vegetarians out there.
