09/24/16: 4.5 out of 5 - Phoned ordered the Teriyaki Fried Chicken, Palau Salt Rub Ribs, and a few pies. Got it home and it was excellent. Only suggestion I would recommend for take home orders is to put a few holes on the container so the steam doesnt accumulate insider. Otherwise, its excellent! 05/31/16: 5 out of 5 - Had lunch here with a business associate and friend. Everyone enjoyed the Teriyaki Fried Chicken, which is amazing! However, I opted for the Palehu (Hawaiian Salt Rub) Ribs. The food was so good that I forgot to take photos to share. So, go there and try it once and decide for yourself. Ill be going back for more. 05/15/16: 5 out of 5 - Ordered Large Teriyaki Fried Chicken and Chicken Yakisoba to go. Got home and immediately got into the food because it smelled amazing in drive home. What I realized was that it was SO DELICIOUS that I forgot to post pictures for the readers. Sorry folks, but there will be a next time! 04/21/16: 5 out of 5 - I keep coming back for more with friends and family. Must mean I like it. I would recommend trying the Teriyaki Fried Chicken and share the Ohana Plate. 02/01/15: Friendly service & good Hawaiian foods...and that Coconut Porter...delicious!

Me and my boyfriend visited about a month ago. I got a teriyaki chicken sandwich, which comes with macaroni salad and some grilled pineapple. My meal was just a dry chicken breast covered in a little bit of bland sauce on a plain roll; that was literally all that was on the sandwich... to top it off, the macaroni salad was also awful. It tasted like cheap pasta mixed with a little mayo (it tasted like they completely forgot to add seasoning or something). I almost feel bad for this restaurant for how sad the food was. When you are serving food just outside of one of the foodiest cities in the U.S., you should really make more of an effort. To top off the bad trip, the waitress was dressed very unprofessionally. I understand its a casual cafe, but wearing baggy, dirty-looking leggings and shoe things that are basically just socks is too casual for any situation, especially when you are working. Who would want to dress up and go out to have a nice time if someone is going to be wearing clothes that lazy to wait on you? Needless to say, there are so many actually good restaurants around, dont bother checking this place out.

I have loved everything Ive ordered at this restaurant. My absolute favorite (Im getting hungry thinking about it now) is the macadamia nut crusted chicken. Its sooooo good!! You get a huge piece of chicken and can have macaroni salad or green salad with it - both are GREAT! Ive also enjoyed the bbq pork ribs (the meat just falls off the bone), kalua pork, and the sweet potato haupia pie. The crust of that pie is like a shortbread cookie - the best pie crust Ive ever had! Everything there is delicious! The only thing I would change is I would top off the kalua pork sandwich with the fantastic pineapple that they use on the macadamia chicken. Now THAT would be perfection - that combination of salt/smoky/sweet flavors. Also, the staff at the restaurant are soooo nice! They always make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Service was disgraceful slow, it was NOT busy when we arrived, while we were there or when we left, but we waited nearly 45 minutes for our food. It was ok, but very expensive for each option (except the kids menu). Standard with most meals is plain white rice and a macaroni salad. EXTRA to replace the macaroni with green salad, which was JUST LETTUCE no dressing or any thing else. Altho the waitress that finally brought b our food and refilled water was pleasant it did not overcome the feeling of paying far more for what we got than what it was worth, it certainly was NOT worth the wait. Meanwhile people would come in, order takeout while standing at the counter and leave with their food while we still sat waiting for ours, I mean really?

I was disappointed. I read very good reviews so my wife and I decided to go. The service was dead and it took a bit of time for our food to get to us. We figured it was being cooked fresh. Turns out, it was being overcooked. The Huli Chicken was hard and inedible. For the price, I expected more than just chicken, 1 scoop of rice and 1 scoop of Mac. Ive been to Hawaiian restaurants that serve this dish at a cheaper price and the chicken is chopped and served on a bed of rice with a scoop of rice and Mac. The staff was nice, the place was clean, everything looked good. However the food fell short. Way short. We didnt finish eating, throwing away $30. I may try this place again, hoping this was a fluke, and I really want to try the Loco Moco.

Excellent Hawaiian food! I was a little ambivalent about stopping for lunch since there are so many mediocre Hawaiian food places in town. And Milwaukee is, frankly, like the twilight zone to me. I ordered the Luau plate and was thrilled -- the thing in the leaf was excellant, the kaluha pork was a bit too salty but delicious (you really do need the rice), and the mac salad was what I remembered. The only negative is that the prices were a high for a casual lunch -- but maybe we got the dinner menu because we arrived late? In any event, I can strongly recommend this place for dinner. Its even date-worthy.

Asian inspired food with Hawaiian names slapped on. Generic stereotypical music and decor. Teriyaki beef was so grisly I couldnt hardly eat it. 2 pieces of generic bbq sauce on chicken. Nothing truly Hawaiian about this place. One server had her pants falling down and kept rolling her eyes at everything. People that came after us got served before my boyfriend and I. Overall bland generic food. My iced tea was the only thing that was good and even that was generic iced tea with tropical syrup added and a gawdy pineapple slice on the side. Wont be returning ever.

I was born and raised in Honolulu where "Teri chicken" and "Mac salad" were every day staples. I ordered the "aloha" plate and was disappointed right off the bat. Bland is the word I would use to describe it. The chicken had a Teri glaze but none of the flavor penetrated the thigh. The pulehu ribs were completely tasteless as was the mac salad. I hate to say this.... but L&L is better.... at least the spam musubi was decent. Second time going and it will be my last. Cant wait to hit sidestreet inn when I go back later this year....
