Cute little hidden grocery store / restaurant tucked in a neighborhood. There isnt a ton of seating, but most of the seating is next to large windows which is excellent for people watching! We went on a Monday night and there were several tables to choose from. I imagine its much busier toward the weekends. We had the burger, it was a pretty standard diner type of burger. If youre looking for a gourmet burger, this isnt it, but its a solid staple type of burger. Also - it says grocery but its more like a restaurant / beer stop type of place. There is street parking which isnt incredibly difficult, but it is limited to 2 hr windows.

I had a terrible experience at RIG today. I had to wait 20 minutes for a cold, veggie sandwich. Not because it was busy, but because the employee who took my order didnt put it in. Instead, he sat down at the bar and ate. I saw him look at me and remember that he forgot- 20 minutes later. He threw together an awful, bland and sloppy sandwhich in 30 seconds flat. The potatoes in the potato salad were raw and crunchy, and he forgot my pickles, even thought I reminded him twice. I have eaten here a few times and really likes the food, which is the only reason Im giving two stars, instead of one.

Wow. I ordered once before and got food cold and wrong. Today tried to give them another chance. Ordered through Grubhub at 10 am, breakfast until 11... just got a call at 10:55 from Grubhub saying they denied and cancelled the order. I called Ross Island directly and spoke to Chuck and he said "THERE IS NO MANAGER AND IM TO BUSY TO TALK TO YOU." And hung up the phone on me. That was bad BAD customer service and just mean. I will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. So mean.

One of my favorite local spots for a quick bite or lunch with friends. Offers hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast options. Great coffee, a few beers on tap, and lots of snacks from which to choose. Also a decent selection of bottled beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. You may also find some locally-made products, too (latest I noticed was soap). Reasonably priced all around.

This place was a hotspot for me working for a few years when I worked up the road. The cafe is set up with beautiful hardwood floors. The smells from the kitchen area dont overpower the room, fresh brewed stumptown and the food is VERY good. I absolutely LOVE the turkey wrap. Its gotta be one of the best combinations of turkey, bacon, and veggies.

It would be nice if the lit up neon sign was moved to the new location, or at least a note indicating where they moved to posted at the old store, since the sign is always lit there. Once I found the place, I found a new favorite cafe. The burger is out of this world, thick fries come with and the price awesome for quality and quantity.

Its good food but once they put sauce on sandwich and it said on menu it was on the side and I didnt eat the sandwich the next day I told the guy about it he didnt give me a discount or nothing if I would have known they were going to put it on the sandwich I would have ordered it without it very disappointed

Ross Island Grocery is a perfect little cafe right in Johns Landing. I used to work here when I first moved to Portland and there is always a fun bunch of people in there! Great deli food! There isnt much of a selection of groceries but what they do have is just enough :)

Awesome sandwiches, great bread, they use delicious turkey that looks and tastes like boars head oven gold. Theres one guy working during most of the day, so be patient please, and if you call hell get to you when he can. They have really good kombucha here, too.

Love it. Great food and environment. I had a French dip it was fantastic. Great horseradish sauce and good quality fries. The restaurant itself is actually a deli and it shares its face with a tiny Portland style market thats really cute. It was a good experience.

The perfect neighbourhood coffee shop. In the heart of residential Portland, they do amazing breakfasts (breakfast sandwich with fried bread and french toast were spot on). Pleasant atmosphere frequented by the locals. They also sell beer, wine and milk.

Neighborhood joint with great burgers and sandwiches. They have a small selection of very reasonably priced wines and a good selection of bottled beer (and maybe tap?). Coffee shop atmosphere, with free wi-fi. We love visiting on the weekends.

Great sandwiches (especially breakfast), but youll wait 10 to 20 minutes. There is often only one person taking orders, cooking and busing. Great for picking up a meal to bring home or eat there, but wouldnt stop on my lunch break at work.

Retread local spot.newish locals trying their darndest to exude the nuance of being....what else, native locals. In essence a coffee house that hundreds of new inhabitants drive by on their commute twice a day. And I mean HUNDREDS!

Awesome little place! They only so brunch on weekends, but the food is fantastic. Biscuits and gravy is wonderful, and the outdoor seating during nice weather is the absolute best! GO HERE AND DO IT NOW

MOVED 1 BLOCK DOWN - to 3502 SW Corbett. (Corner of Corbett and Curry). Thats why the 1 star commenter said it was taped up. Just had to look down the block. Very friendly folk.

Ross Island has some amazing sandwiches - quality meat, great baked bread, and they dont skimp on ingredients. Also, Stumptown coffee. I highly recommend stopping in for lunch.

New location, a little south. Great atmosphere, great food - wish they had a "regular" breakfast - but the breakfast sandwich was one of the best Ive had. WiFi too!
