I have been to Tokyo steak house many times, and enjoyed the experience each time. My most recent experience was so terrible that i will never go back. I ordered a roll with unagi (eel), and the roll must have been made with old fish, because the flavor turned my stomach. In addition, it was full of bones and scales, and i was embarrassed to spit it into a napkin. When I informed the waitress about the issue with the roll she said that sometimes when they fry the unagi to go in the roll it got kind of crispy. I told her i knew the difference and showed her the pile of scales and fish bones on my plate and told her i did not want the rest of the roll. She asked me 3 times if i was sure i didnt want to finish it. I told her that it had turned my stomach, and i was not going to eat any more of it. The rest of the sushi was mostly fine, with the exception of the rainbow roll, which had a piece of albacore tuna on the end that was obviously old and had an intensely nauseating old fish taste to it. When the waitress brought the bill she apologized that the unagi roll was "not to my liking" and i was shocked to see that they had charged me for it. It was the first time in 6 years i have paid and not left a tip. I will never set foot in Tokyo Japanese steak house again.

My wife and I loved this place! We had Teriyaki salmon and beef which came with rice and a salad with great house dressing.. We also for fun asked the waitress to tell the Sushi Chef to make us what ever he wanted to make.. We ended up with a Sushi Dragon made with salmon, caviar, shrimp and small pieces of eel and the face carved out of wasabi..It was awesome sushi. In addition our servings of beef and salmon teriyaki were huge portions, excellent quality and served still sizzling. My wife who spent some time in Japan said that this was as good as she had ever had state side..Highly recommended..Prices are good (unless you do like us and order a special Sushi order) great quality and good service as well..

This was one of the worst dinning experiences Ive ever had. Though we were seated right away, it took the staff 30 mins before they took our drink order. By that time we knew our food order so we gave it to the waitress. another 30 mins and our drinks came, another 30 mins my husbands food came. 15 mins later after my husband finished his meal we asked for our check so we could get on with our night. I never got food, our water was never refilled. Also, the food we did receive (my husbands dish) was only modest portion. We went home and made dinner afterwards. I would strongly discourage anyone from seeking out this restaurant for a date night.

Ive been here a few times but the most recent one was definitely the worst. We waited for an hour and 45 minutes for one plate of sushi, once we finally got our food they had messed up the order and THEN tried to charge us twice for some things on our bill. I hate complaining at restaurants but I guess I expected some sort of complimentary drinks or something. But they didnt even apologize for how bad the service was, and in fact the angry looking manager snatched my card out of my hand when I was paying QUITE a bit for my meal. Ive never had good service here and this was definitely the last straw. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

I ordered a rainbow roll, spider, corvallis, and california roll. It was beautifully presented in a wooden ship looking tray with wasabi and ginger. I also ordered veggie tempura, plain fried rice, and edamame. The rice was super fresh tasting, veggie tempura right out of the fryer, the edamame even tasted fresher than I expected and not the kind you buy frozen from the grocery store. The whole meal was around $43 but I understand sushi takes a lot of detail and precision. It was worth the price. I left feeling the perfect level of full and I wish I had told them the meal was perfect. A great spot for a date.

We have been coming here since my daughter was a toddler. Its always nice when you can go somewhere without feeling like you are intruding with kids that just wont sit still or stay in their chair. I have always felt welcome here and it is my daughters favorite restaurant. She is now 7 and still begs to go to her sushi. She loves that there is always some live lobster or crab to look at in the tank too. The food is great and the atmosphere is fun. You can sit at a table where the chef will come cook your food on a grill in front of you while doing tricks.

Coming the paradise of Vancouver, this is a decent Japanese restaurant with medium quality sashimi. We had chirashi bowl which for $15 is quite a lot of fish, all fairly good, just skip the octopus. The rolls on the other hand were pretty mediocre. We had the spicy tuna (bland), California (dull bit fine) and the beaver roll (strange, sorry but mango and eel were not meant to go together. ) We didnt try the steak tepanyaki yet whiich is their specialty, so well be back.

I just ate here with my wife and it was very delicious! Its very important to make reservations, as we got in ahead of those without. The waitress was courteous and the ambiance was nice, but the food was simply amazing. The steak was "break da mouth" good and the sushi was above average. Im from Hawaii and lived in Japan for 2 years where the sushi is fantastic, but this wasnt too far behind. Highly recommend it to all.

We went here while visiting family in October 08. It was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, we had a couple small children with us and no one minded that they ran around and made noise. It was great. My favorite roll that we got from them was their Corvallis roll. Absolutely amazing! I wish I would have taken note of what was in it so I could ask our local sushi chef to try and make it! Cant wait to go back!

I got one of the beef bento boxes with 3 types of sushi in it. There was a lot of food but some of it was less than desirable. There was a salad on the plate made from iceberg lettuce. Im not much of a fan of iceberg, I prefer leaf or romaine. Also, the dressing was not very tasty. The beef was ok, nothing to write home about. One thing I thought they did well was the sushi. I will definitely order sushi next time I go.

I was trying to figure out if the smell of the building was wet dog or stinky feet. Either way the first impression was not pleasant. We are from out of town grabbing a quick bite to eat and the sushi was just okay. The hostess served me the wrong beer, no big deal and all in all we left this place with no good memories. I would say it was terrible but I wouldnt say it was good either.
