Since their opening two years ago, Momijis Silverton Rd. location has been my favorite sushi place in town. As others note, its tucked away on the back side of a market, so youll need to pay attention to the signage in order to find it. The inside is nice, though, with about eight bar seats and half-a-dozen booths. The staff is always attentive and friendly. My wife, oldest daughter and I visited on a very quiet Sunday night (2/19) as this was my daughters choice for a birthday dinner. She loves the basic tuna rolls so she ordered those plus a Tiger Roll (cucumber, avocado, tempura shrimp with a spicy tuna topping). My wife ordered her usual "Salem Roll" (cream cheese, imitation crab, avocado - the roll is then tempura cooked with spicy sauces). I went for the Shot gun roll (new to me) which featured imitation crab, green onion, salmon, seared tuna and poke sauce. It was all fresh and wonderful as usual. In addition, I had several bowls of the complementary miso soup (a bargain!) and some nice tea. At the end, we ordered a tropical fruits crepe - contains strawberry, peach, mango, kiwi, custard and whipped cream, in a thin wrapping. A nice dessert to conclude another nice meal at Momiji.

Ups and downs to this place. From the moment arriving it appeared to be a hole in the wall with a couple disorderly guys in front of the place. Lock your car. Arriving inside, there were a surprising amount of people there. We were sat at a table that had just been cleaned but still had gross dirty napkins near the salt and pepper that I pointed out to the waiter. Ordered the Philly roll (placed on the table without avocado which differs from the menu but he took care of it, replacing the cucumber with avocado so they still got it wrong from the actual menu), Me Luv U Long Time (best thing on the plate, spicy, good), and Summer Time Roll (fittingly named, touch of mango, white tuna, refreshing, topped with lemon), miso soup (seaweed was a little hard and a strange, too flavorful spoonful at one point....not sure what THAT was), and edimame (was great, salty, hot, slightly buttery and a larger dish than expected). Decent portions and price. Better than a sushi track but could have been better in many aspects. 3 stars.

Overall, I have had nothing negative to say about this place until now. I love the food and service, but the fact that our delivery guy was not allowed to bring change caused me to lower my rating. He ended up with about a $12 dollar tip because I only had $20 bills. I understand setting a minimum for delivery but this is ridiculous! A business needs to think about their cash paying customers. If hed had $5 on him, I wouldnt have minded giving him that $7 tip. To have no change for deliveries is no way to run a business. Be warned...must have proper change if you plan to order for a delivery with cash. Ive learned my lesson and will never order delivery again unless I use a card.

Always great sushi. Its hard to find better sushi in the Salem area. You can find better by going up to Portland of course, but without the hassle of driving up there, you really cant go wrong at this Momiji. Its *not* associated with the one on Commercial st, which I find to be little less consistent than the Silverton Rd one. They did forget my hot saki last time though, but he did take it off my bill. Servers sometimes seem distracted, but it can get very busy in there very quick, so I dont blame them much. Always go for good sushi, always get good sushi. Simple as that.

We have been big fans of Momiji for the last 2 years. We stop in frequently for lunch or get take-out for dinner. Last night our takeout order was slightly off, we called once we got back home and realized. Jeff answered our call, offered a couple of suggestions on how to make it up to us and absolutely took care of us. Every restaurant makes mistakes, especially on take-out orders and a big thanks to Jeff for correcting the issue. Looking forward to enjoying more Momiji rolls in the future.

Two person minimum for all you can eat? That is absolutely a ridiculous rule that only discourages patrons from even considering a restaurant. Sad part is they didnt mention this limit when I called over the phone and I had to find out after showing up. As a business traveler that spends more time eating in restaurants than my own home, this is a red flag that shows the place is not worth the money, especially when the place is empty during a supposed dinner rush.

Can get a little crowded, which is the ONLY reason why I have a tough time going there. Parking can be horrific, sometimes the wait seems awkward while you stand near the counter and people are eating right there. BUT the sushi is some of the best around - IMO. Some of the other locations are fancier, upscale - not here. This is just great food. Love the miso soup and calamari salad. Prefer the salmon rolls, but all of them are very nice. brown rice on request.

I love eating Sushi. Ive eaten at a lot of the Sushi restaurants around town and this one is easily my favorite. Seating and parking are very limited. Momiji is located in the same building as a convenient store and next to a used car lot. But dont let the location scare you off, the food is top notch. There is another Momijis in Salem, but it is run by a different owner. The owner of this Momiji also has location in Lebanon, Monmouth, and North Bend.

I am a "sushi snob" and I think this place is great! Ive eaten there many times over the last 3 years and by far the most outstanding roll they offer is the Albany Roll- amazing! My staff and I often order Momiji for lunch and we have never been disappointed or have gotten sick. I would choose this as the best place to get sushi in Salem. Hands down Momiji blows Kame in McMinnville out of the water!

Very great food and service. I called in an order using an old outdated menu and they worked with me for over 10 minutes on the phone to clear up the confusion for a relatively small order. I felt so bad I wrote in a nice tip on my receipt to apologize for being a grouchy customer but when I checked my statement I saw they didnt even charge the tip. Very pleased and humbled by the experience.

If you dont mind the decor and the fighting through empty eggs cartons to get to the restroom, since the place seems to be run by boys, the sushi is really good. And good priced. We had the lunch combos which offers a diversity of rolls to choose from, miso soup and a cucumber salad. If in the area again, well be back!

Great place. We go a couple times a month. Happy hour prices for Nigiri are awesome and the Tuesday special brings us in often. The waitress with brown hair and blonde highlights is the best waitress they have (sorry, cant remember her name). The young guy, Albert (I think thats his name) is super nice and helpful too!

Even though I am an out of towner, this is my favorite sushi place in Salem. In all of Oregon, thus far. While it may look a little sketchy from the outside, the service is warm and inviting. The sushi is a terrific deal and you get a lot for what you pay. We try and stop in whenever we drive through Salem.
