Sushi is delicious and theres usually a lot of options. It can be hit or miss because its a belt, and the popular ones can go fast and then theres just cali rolls and such. But for the price, especially compared to other places that are expensive, its worth it, and theres always something good to eat. The loss of two stars is the staff. They, for the most part, are not serving you much food. Duh, sushi belt. But Ive been here dozens of times and sometimes I get water, sometimes I dont. Forget about a soda, I think Ive been able to order 2 in past visits. Im not comfortable yelling at a waitress to come help me. Im not that person. But when its slow, and they are in a pair or three just folding silverware and chatting at the front desk, I get a bit annoyed that I dont have water. Its kinda nice to have a beverage with your meal. Im even willing to bypass ordering a soda when I know youre busy, and I dont need the diabeetus. It also seems to be partly due to their somewhat lack of a system. Sometimesyou seat yourself, sometimes not. And there seems to be no way of them knowing who sat down when, when you are not seated by staff. Its odd. Im simply trying to draw attention to this so it can be fixed, and then this place would be a well oiled machine. That said, when I do get water, Im happy and I recommend this for anyone who loves food on a budget, plus no wait for food unless you order off menu. You can literally sit down (if theres no line, its a popular place) and commence stuffing yourself as fast as your little fingers can grab a plate. Definitely worth a try!

They are always busy on weekends, so if you want to stand there for 30 minutes for a table or room on the conveyor belt go ahead. "Happy Hour" is their busiest time of the day, as all plates are $1.50, but they never make any of the good rolls during it. They also refuse to open half of the tables during their busy hours, because they dont want to work. The waitresses never seem to want to take your order if you sit at the conveyor belt and will ignore you unless you flag them down and practically yell for them. The food is decent, if they have the good rolls out and cook the Salmon and Eel rolls all the way through. I ordered it cooked, not slightly heated with a blow torch on both sides. This place was my go to for sushi, but after July 4th when they didnt want to open up all their tables, and not even during a busy time. There are better places that I will go to from now on.

Best sushi! Been to many sushi restaurants - Seattle, Portland, Salem, Reno, Vegas, Florence and Cabo - This little gem in Eugene is just as good if not better than the high dollar sushi restaurants we have been to...I only eat Sashimi and Nigiri - and it never has that fishy taste - love love love Happy Hour as you can try things you may normally not and if you dont like it - your only out 1.50!! Love the staff - they know are family now as we have been eating here for many years and always remember us. Love they offer Bento as my husband never wouldve eaten sushi in the past - or any fish - so he had options...the funny thing is now he loves sushi!! We eat here at least once a week and have always had great service and food!

My first time at Sushi Island. A small Japanese style sushi house, with a Sushi-Go-Round sounds like a fantastic idea for a day out. However, I found myself running for the bathroom before I even left the place. Amid all the chaos the places has to offer, we found bugs on our food, and alot of the sushi was old and looked as if it had been going around for quite sometime as they looked slightly rotted. The staff was very polite however they seemed to be lost in some of the confusion. I sadly will not ever be going back to this establishment. At least not until they fix quite a few things. 2 stars for the polite staff.

This is a pretty decent conveyor belt sushi place with plates ranging from $1.50-$3.50. There are also items from the main menu that you can order to add to your meal if something from the belt doesnt catch your eye. We came in just around 7 and the place was slightly busy with even more patrons entering behind us. All in all, if youre looking for a quick and affordable bite, Sushi Island can fill that void. Needless to say, well definitely be adding this place into our weekly rotation.

The quality of the food is not ever going to be stellar. I would not bother with ordering a special order of the more expensive spider, dragon, or vegas rolls. Yet, if you want to fill up on sushi, you cannot beat $1.50 for a plate of sushi during their 2pm - 4pm happy hour special. It wont be phenomenal, but being able to have 5 servings for $7.50 is a steal. Just make sure to go early, a lot of people are aware of this deal.

The food on the belt doesnt have much variety and tends to be cold and chewy. Their salmon nigiri have only half of what other places have in terms of actual fish and fall apart if you even try to dip them in so sauce. Their cucumber salad was soft and chewy, not fresh and crunchy. Their bathrooms and the hallway and curtain to them are dirty. Spend the extra money and go somewhere nicer, unless you like subpar sushi.

It wasnt the most amazing experience ever, but was basically everything we were looking for. I love conveyor belt sushi places, and this delivered. Not a large amount of variety on the belt, but enough for me to feel satisfied. The wait staff basically leaves you alone until youre ready to pay, which was fine for us since we werent ordering anything. Fairly inexpensive too, from $1.50 plates to $3.50 plates.

No fresh sushi on the belt for at least 30 minutes. Got there at 1:45, happy hour was at 2pm, so the waitress said if we stayed after 2pm she would charge us happy hour prices Lie.. Paid 18$ for the worst sushi experience. O yeah one customer walked out because the sushi selection was so bad. I noticed the only people giving it a good review all seem to mention how cheap it is haha cheap sushi beware..

Lots of different types of sushi. Belt is fun for the kids. Happy hour from 2 pm to 4 pm is the best time to go. All plates are $1.50. If the belt seating is full, then take a table. Just have to walk up to the belt to grab sushi. Not a big deal. Takeout of the sushi on the belt is another plus. Can walk in, grab as many plates as you want, pay, then go home to eat. Staff is very friendly.

Stopped in while making a long drive from Tacoma to the Bay Area, on the basis of Google reviews/comments. An impressively long conveyor anchoring a pair of lunch counters. Welcomed in, we were informed of their 2:00 happy hour about to begin, and we were delighted at the offerings! Fresh goodness is always a delight, and Sushi Island does not disappoint! Domo arigato gozimasu !
