FOOD: 1.) Chicken Teriyaki Bento = wow.. not very tasty... at all... and not a very difficult dish to make right? Sashimi side was good though 2.) Tried the sashimi and rolls off others plates and everything here is just a consistent lackluster "Ok" ... kinda disappointing bc its like I wanted this place to be good. It coulda been our go to Japanese spot on this side of town. SERVICE: service is strange here.. restaurant wasnt filled but it was slow and not very observant of our empty water glasses. Our food came out all different times and even with our bentos our sides came all different times, and different times as our rice bowl... and our dirty dishes piled up taking up room and they werent cleared away. We had to ask and point it out. ATMOSPHERE: Its sorta modernized Japanese

Yuubi is one of the sushi restaurants in the Richmond that Ive had bookmarked for a while. I made it out here with my sushi buddy Vanessa K. and we had a great time! We sat at the sushi bar and ordered with the chef. He was super nice and made each our pieces with great care. He even gave us a couple of pieces and ice cream on the house. We got the sushi omakase - which is 8 nigiri for $24. Such a steal! Definitely get this. We then got some other pieces a la carte. The beef tataki was very tempting, as it looked really good My favorites of the evening were: - Salmon belly - Toro - Engawa - Aji - Amaebi Great mid-range sushi place with fresh fish and good variety. Definitely not on par with Wako or other more upscale/authentic places, if thats what youre looking for.

The atmosphere is friendly clean, and spacious. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday night when we went. The good has great presentation, and I love their dishes, so cute and unique, especially the salad bowl. Speaking of, the salad is great. Traditional Japanese mayonnaise dressing, but I still love it. We ordered the beef teriyaki and salmon teriyaki and they were both pretty good, but not amazing. The beef was like a real steak sliced up and it was more fatty and rare than I like. The salmon was good, but a little peppery. I prefer the salmon at Sushi Bistro next door though. And as for my favorite ending to a Japanese meal, they only have green tea and red bean mochi, which made me really sad because I only like strawberry, mango, and chocolate mochi.

Prompt service, fresh fish, talented sushi chefs - this place has it all. My favorite is sitting at the bar and chatting with the ever-attentive chefs who are more than willing to make sure you are satisfied with anything you plan on ordering. Ive seen many families come in and enjoy themselves (met more than a few couples as well) so bring your brood or your first date or have a romantic night - superstar manager/owner Ricky will take care of you. Much better than the bistro down the street, trust me... but dont take my word for it, get to Yuubi to try it for yourself!

Recommending sitting at the bar for better sushi experience. I sat at a table the first time I came and ordered a bunch of rolls. They were not very impressive and I didnt plan to return. However I came back the second time with a friend who is a frequent to Yuubi and she took me to sit at the bar and ordered the Omakase. Depending on the sushi chef you can get some really good pieces and if you ask the chef nicely to customize your Omakase with the fish you want!

Although we werent especially impressed with the roll (an oshizushi, the citrus flavor was a bit too strong, but the rice was made almost to perfection), the appetizer (age ebi yaki) and the chefs selection of nigiri osushi were very satisfactory. Overall, an excellent quality - price ratio. Would consider going back for more, the selection of catch of the day looked impressive. Moreover, the staff was friendly and corteous.

If only the sauces didnt over power the flavours of the fish (for example with the hamachi carpaccio), Yuubi would much better on my restaurant list than it actually is. The Passion roll and the Romeo and Juliet rolls are fine and the Niners rolls are a fresh choice but this is not a place where I would go deliberately... I keep ordering from them because it is one of the sushi choices at work. Sorry you dont get my vote!

Great selection of fresh sashimi (and uni!) at wallet friendly prices. Clean, spacious modern restaurant with friendly customer service. Good option if you have a larger party although parking may be difficult in the area. Still worth checking out if you are in the area and are craving some sushi!

They make okay sushi rolls, nothing memorable. Ive been a few times and each time they were sold out of an item on the menu that we tried to order. Staff is very friendly. Hard to find parking, but easy to get to via muni.

This places sushi is the best ever! The prices are really cheap for the kind of food tht you are ordering. Also, they offer discounts and they try to accomodate the customers needs so its really nice of them to do so.

I ordered Caterpillar roll. It should be with eel, cucumber, avocado and topped tobiko but I got rice with avocado. I added photo, you can see. This roll costs $11. $11 for rice and avocado?! Service was just OK.

Very surprised. Dont let the smoked out windows fool you. Nice place to eat with the family and the food is very good. Service is excellent and great menu. Will return, and recommend for lunch or dinner.

Fresh fish and good service. As an added bonus they often have coupons on yelp for free sake. I generally get sashimi. The specials are generally interesting as well.

Really good sushi and fantastic service. Even when you call them grumpy about some detail and they have to educate you on sushi that you think you know about :)

Good food, but not so great service. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the waiter brought us the wrong roll.

Great selection on the menu. Ricky has had a great staff for years here. Right at corner of 31 and 44 municipal stops.

Usual neighborhood spot for sushi lunch. The non-sushi menu items are good too.
