since moving here from Beantown a 6 months ago, ive been looking for a replacement for Avana Sushi - a cheap but delicious sushi joint in the heart of Bostons Chi-town. Kikis comes pretty close, hitting the points of value, attentive service, funky decor...falling short in consistency of product...but making up for it with variety. In comparison to other sushi restaurants in the Bay area, Kikis is cheap. You can get a decently full on sushi for under $15. The other hot food menu items are not bad. In addition to many of the rolls, Ive also had the curry udon and regular udon. I would have to say that my favorite rolls are the Spider, Dynamite, and Hawaii. I was VERY disappointed by the Rainbow roll due to the inconsistency in the quality of the fish. If I have to dip my sashimi pieces in wasabi soy sauce to augment the taste, there is something fishy. I like my sushi / sashimi straight up -- the way the Japanese intended. The wait staff is friendly and checks up on you at just the right intervals. Decor goes with the theme of Kikis delivery service anime. 3 stars for the food 2 stars for the service 4 stars for the decor 5 stars for value Ive gone back a couple of times. Its a great place to stop after work for a bite to eat on the way home. But if they raised their prices, Id reconsider.

My boyfriend wanted to go here, so I gave the green light to check it out. He told me that the sushi here was decent, and the price was affordable. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant was pretty big and brightly lit. It seemed clean from my perspective. Although, theres this wall in the middle thats awkwardly positioned in the restaurant. What I thought was cool was the entrance. It wasnt your usual square. It was more diagonal. FOOD: I ordered the katsu don which consisted of pork cutlets with egg over rice. I wish the description were better because I didnt know my pork was going to be COVERED in egg. It gave that soggy texture to my meat, and I hated that. The food was also bland and had to pour some soy sauce over it to give the flavor a boost... CUSTOMER SERVICE: Our initial contact with the waiter was off because he ignored us for a little bit until I had to stand there awkwardly. After that, he became more decent and refilled our water promptly. Would I come back here again? Maybe when I want to get affordable sushi

This hole in the wall Sushi shop opens up to high ceilings and natural lighting that was surely a shock to me. The decor is simple yet personal with art hanging from Miyazakis greatest movies. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and was able to sit wherever we pleased. The sushi was cheap! (about $3 for a California roll!) and quite delicious! They happily met my request and added in cream cheese to my roll (So good!) The Dynamite roll was also really good, but the Curry Udon was the best!! Definitely will be going back for more :)

If you want really basic, cheap sushi then this place is for you. I would go here on my lunch break when I was craving sushi and didnt want to spend so much. The lunch specials are cheap, you can get a bento box including teriyaki, miso soup, rolls, etc. Pretty much basic stuff for a very low price. Its not "the best" sushi but good for those on a budget! I love the ability to mix and match dishes for a set price. They have cute picture of anime movies all over the place (hence the name).

I like kikis because of the cheap prices and most imporrtantly the crunchy snowball. An oily gewy mix of cream cheese, rice, sweet sauce and sriracha. Cant beat the value, it is almost like an all you can eat for under $20. I usually order 2 of the sushi combos and 1-2 rolls and walk out of there with a $ 20-25 bill after tax and tip. Not high quality sushi, but for 7.95 for 6 pieces of sushi and 1 roll im down.

This is a great place to have a quick (or slow) Japanese meal with a small budget. The inside of Kiki is spacious, so seating is comfortable. Excellent for kids. The staff is reasonably friendly. In fact, I find them more down-to-earth than those in the more pricey restaurants. I personally like the Agedashi Tofu and the Vegetable Tempura. The combos are complete with soup, salad, & ice cream. Good deal!

They had a wrong purchase with my account. After I checked my bank account and then called them last night. They gave me more cash back and double California roll for fix that mistake. I got a big big surprise. Im very very appreciate for them because I made a mistake too of that I lost my receipt two weeks ago. I like their honest and Excellent service. By the way I like their foods very much.

I come here if Im pinching a budget and want to just settle my craving for sushi. The fish is definitely not fresh and within 3 days of catch but whos going to complain at these prices. Its better than Safeway brand sushi. Ill often go for its set of hot appetizers and the curry udon (must try). Great for large groups since it has comfortable seating space and usually not busy.

This is a great casual Japanese place. Ebisu next door is the fancy date venue -- Kiki instead had a really wide ranging menu of affordable quality food and cheap hot sake. $2.50-$4 for maki rolls and $9 udon/rice/meat combos stand out for great value. Highly recommended if youre looking for a super casual, tasty, and affordable Japanese meal.

Sushi, even cheap sushi, is heavily based on the rice, and the rice here is... Yuck. Hard and tough, like day old rice or perhaps undercooked. Whatever the case why be, the rice ruined enjoying sushi rolls. Pricing is really cheap, which this place has going for it, and a lot of options, but otherwise, not going to be returning anytime soon.

If you are looking for cheap and good japanese food, then this is the place. I usually get the tempura udon and a tiger roll (with no avocado). I usually use the coupons that i find on the back of safeway and lucky reciepts whenever i go to this restaurant, which is 15% off. Parking is a hassle, so try and get there early.

Not the greatest sushi Ive had, but a great place to take the family if youre in the neighborhood; the price is right (with some great happy hour deals; the gyoza are great and the agedashi tofu was outstanding) and the Miyazaki posters all over the walls entertained all of us (not just the kids!)

I am very satisfied with the service, someone comes to ask you what you need the moment you go into the store. The one time that I was here, I ordered a Udon, for a pricey amount of $8. I say that it was pricey because there wasnt a lot of Udon, it was definitely not worth that much money.
