This place was packed with a 40-minute wait on Sunday at noon, so I had very high hopes. Sadly, my hopes were let down the entire time I was here. I always like to recognize the staff for being friendly and helpful, but the hostess never once smiled to any customer that walked in the door. The waitress we had was nice, but didnt want to spend any additional time at our table more than she had to. As soon as the orders were taken or the food was delivered, she was gone in a hurry. I would contribute this to how busy they were, but I didnt notice this with the other staff members. If its available, my brunch staple anywhere I go is the croque madame and hash browns. My backup is always an omelette and/or pancakes. Considering this place had all of that, it was a little difficult to make a decision since I dont know when Ill be back again. Thankfully, my party was okay splitting pancakes, so I would be able to try just about everything I was interested in. Sadly, I have to say everything I ate was quite disappointing. Out of all of the places Ive had a croque madame, this was easily at the bottom of my list. The bread was a little burnt and very crunchy, and the sauce was not very good. Ive never had to use a knife to cut into one before, but this was the first time. The hash browns were good, its hard to mess those up. The pancakes were huge for the cheap price, so I was really excited. Just like the croque madame, it was a major let down. The size definitely does not make up for the quality. I dont know what they do (or dont do) with the batter that other diners do, but this was the blandest pancake Ive ever had. There was no flavor whatsoever, which required us to drown it in syrup (and that wasnt even very good either). The rest of my party enjoyed their food, but they got non-breakfast items. So, apparently the lunch menu is where you need to stick to for a tasty meal. This place will not be on my list of restaurants to come back to whenever Im in the city. After seeing pictures, reading the other reviews, and seeing the good-looking menu, this was one of the bigger disappointments in recent memory.

This was the first time checking this place out. And it was sure busy at 9am, I tried to get there early so I didnt have to wait. You do seat yourself so that is nice, but also odd at the same time. Anyways the waitress was quick to come over and ask if I wanted something to drink. Once my friend arrived she was back again asking what we would like to eat. We asked her what is good and she gave us a brief run down of what she liked and didnt like. I ended up ordering the chicken fried steak and my friend ordered an omelette. I will say I am impressed because we got several different sides with our order. I wish they would have put it on the menu before I ordered so I didnt make the waitress tell me what they have but she was nice about it. The food came out pretty quickly, there was nothing I could say was wrong with my food. It was delicious and a huge amount for the price. I really enjoyed the coffee, and I think I had 4 or 5 cups so definitely worth the $2 for it. We walked out for under $18 before tip so that wasnt bad at all. The only weird thing was that there was a kid who was ringing up our total so that threw me off. I dont think he was of age but I could be wrong. I would definitely come back here and check out the other options they had, such as the omelette and other specialities.

I was really disappointed with my experience. First off, I ordered a cup of tea. When it came it had lipstick on the rim of the mug. After I told the waiter he went back, washed off the rim and handed it back to me. But when I got it back there was still leftover lipstick, and also now dirt/grime from his finger on the inside of the rim. I went back to the bar and asked for a new mug. When they gave it to me IT HAD LIPSTICK ON IT TOO. I immediately told them and they gave me a "brand new mug." When they handed it to me, the rim was dusty and I could see dust all inside of the hot water. I also forgot to mention that the plates they gave us with the tea had food residue all over it. We waited 20 minutes for the food after I gave up on the tea. Someone came by our table and said "Your food is almost ready." And we got it a few minutes later. But when we got it the food was barely warm, and my girlfriends food was cold. I couldnt enjoy the meal because I had in the back of my mind why the lady came to our table to lie and say the food was "almost ready" when clearly it had been ready for a long time. For whatever reason they held onto our food in the back for a bit before giving it to us. Truly a terrible experience, especially given that this place is pretty new. Please do your dishes before you serve anyone.

Definitely NOT as cheap as it says on Foursquare ($30 for two breakfast platters). It was freezing in there. I was shivering (more like shaking) so much I could barely eat. I got the smoked salmon benedict. It looked great, but one egg was way undercooked, the other was way overcooked, and the potato cake was so greasy it made me sick to my stomach. My husband got the Hillbilly Hash. He took three bites and pushed it away. He said it was so spicy, he couldnt taste the actual food, and it gave him heartburn all day. He was NOT a fan of the gravy. Be warned, the "biscuits" are just a hunk of bread. So disappointing because we were super excited to try out this new place and drove all the way across the city just to eat there. We wont be back most likely.

Had to wait 45 minutes for a suggested 20 minute wait. If it were because other people were eating slow I wouldnt be frustrated but instead its because the staff was moving at their own leisurely pace, while 4 empty tables sat unused and just needed to be cleared. If that werent bad enough, wed decided what to eat during out wait and put our order in immediately after getting seated and were assured it would be "real quick!" Yet we had to wait another 30 minutes to receive our food with cold eggs. That being said the food wasnt awful but it wasnt anything spectacular. One of the most frustrating dining experiences Ive had.

Food is of fantastic quality, service when being greeted can be a little slow when busy, but only when theyre busy. Prices are on point. The Benedicts are good. There really isnt anything I can knock them for other than they have regular potted coffee, (although from Eote, which is a quality roaster) and not an espresso selection. Also, having to wait for all of the other blokes to leave, so I can enjoy the food! They also do the morning alcohol, but cant attest to the quality of drinks as I dont participate in that activity.
