Paladar is the first restaurant I can remember opening on the east in a long time that has brought a fresh and exiting change to the area. Paladar serves Latin food which includes foods with influences from Cuba and Latin America. It is by no means spicy. In fact, I do not think there is a single food on the menu that can be considered spicy by any stretch. To start out, let me say the food is outstanding I have enjoyed this restaurant many times with my friends, family, and grandparents. We have ordered a plethora of items form the menu ranging from steak to stuffed peppers and plantains. Each person, every time, has thought this to be nothing but among best tasting food and enjoyable experience. Additionally, the menu has an outstanding stuffed pepper vegetarian entree, and many of the appetizers may be vegetarian meals; discuss this with the server. Fresh guacamole and vegetable chips make a great start to any meal. Be sure to try one of the flavored guacamoles for a nice change. The kitchen is accommodating and the servers friendly and attentive -- all of them. This restaurant is one of Clevelands new gems that everyone is sure to enjoy.

I was pleasantly surprised after finishing my meal at Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar. Upon arriving, I had no particular expectation of this venue. However, after seeing the menu, taking a look around and tasting each and every item ordered, I could not believe it. Menu is beyond creative, and is entirely unique to this venue. Our guacamole came in three different varieties (spicy, mango and standard) and came served with yucca plantain chips. Just, remarkable! I was actually excited to try an item from each section of the menu. Ingredients were flavorful, high in quality and complimented the dishes that we ordered. My entree of rainbow trout melted in my mouth and had latin undertones in terms of garnishment (spiced kale). I would return here given that Paladar uses unique ingredients that are complimentary and give an impressionable taste. Service was about the only aspect of this restaurant that needed minor improvement. Our server seemed to forget about our table from time to time, and it wasnt busy when we dined. However, the mediocre service was offset due to the highly impressionable food, menu selection, drink list and atmosphere.

I went there, 3 nights ago, with 4 folks, for an anniversary. The wait, at the table, was unnnecessarily looong. We ordered some rum drinks apiece, which were OK. The appetizers were cold and not well presented I had the tacos with chicken and the tacos felt like they were uncooked !@!! The rice ( with black beans - ), a side dish, were old, so much so that the rice had dried up and felt like pieces of fish bones! I swear ! I dared not complain in the group, because we were running late. My friend barely touched his chicken hamburger,( of some sort - ). This is not a place I will go to again, despite being located in the swankiest mall, Eton Mall, in Cleveland. I feel bad for this sad review.

The fried plantains were excellent! I could have made that dinner. I had the Carribean salad and my hubby had the chicken tacos. Great food. Friendly and attentive staff. We were seated away from the crowd and enjoyed a nice quiet dinner. The other side of the restaurant was loud and noisy. I would enjoy that as well if for the right occassion. There are 71 kinds of rum on their menu. We had a flight and decided we like our rum with Coke. Not big drinkers but the rum was flavorful and aromatic. They came with cards that told you about the different rum you ordered. Their sister store is Bombas in Fairlawn. Cant wait to try that one too!

Went here for our second anniversary over the weekend. Food was very good and service was friendly. It was busy on a Saturday night, which is always a good sign, so I suggest making reservations. Prices were typical of a higher-end restaurant, average of 15-20 per meal. Attire is business casual. The food was more of a gourmet take on Latin food, and it was very good. We ordered the cod spiced with adobe they had on special, as well as brasilian lamb stew (both were very good). Also had the guac and a chorizo corn cake appetizer (also both very good). Drinks were made well, also.

Overhyped and underwhelming. The food lacks a freshness and seems under flavored for what you would expect at a Latin themed restaurant. The entrees seem heavily oiled and full of sodium, as if a lot of ingredients are food-service quality. The drink menu is full of overly sweet cocktails. Even the jalapeño paloma, a drink recommended for those who like more spice and less sweet, was overly sweet. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but is acoustically painful. An extremely loud setting which grates on the nerves. The servers were great.

We had reservations for a group of 14. Our table was ready when we got there and we were seated before everyone in our party was here. (I hate when they make you wait for everyone.). We were able to sit down order some drinks, appetizers and chat till everyone was there. I had the special drink, pumpkin ginger mojito and it was very good. Our server was very good. Drinks we kept full and he checked back often to see if anyone needed another cocktail. Husband and I both enjoyed our appetizers and dinner. So glad we tired a new place.

Just ok. Came in for happy hour and the place was packed but cannot understand why. The drinks were good - got a margarita and the Cinco de mayo Paloma. But food was cold-bland at best. Chicken empanadas had hard crust with maybe 1-2 pieces of chicken inside, fish tacos had no sauce and ate very dry. Even with happy hour prices felt unsatisfied. Service was poor too - waiter never came over during meal, didnt get hot sauce we requested, and took very long time for check.

Nice place, great Location. But food was so so. Being a hispanic myself and eating Latin food all over Latin America and the Caribbean. This place is not authentic at all. But I guess people dont know any better. My wife ordered an appetizer I believe it was the ropa vieja, it was pretty much tasted like really bad corned beef. Curros were very soggy, nothing like in Spain. Food was very bland it lacked the real Latin Flavor. Get a real latin chef to cook.

My office is a quarter mile from Paladar and I go there at least once a month. I have taken clients, dates, and friends here and, without exaggeration, every single one said they loved it. I have never had a bad meal here and Ive tried about half the menu (and its big). Great dinner prices and portions. People Ive taken here that claimed they dont like guacamole loved the guacamole and chips.

No fue muy buena aunque la mesera fue muy atenta y al final el gerente NOS ayudo.Pero de no haber sido por el inconveniente todo hubiese sido perfecto.

Bad Food, Bad Service, Bad Value. We were a party of 4. We waited one hour for the first 2 dinners, then 10 more minutes for the next dinner then 5 more minutes for the 4th person to be served. my food was way overcooked, but i dared not send it back after waiting so long in the first place. Poor quality and expensive.
